Current Weather in Indianapolis: Starry and Clear Current Temp: 72 F (22 C)Alex is leaving tomorrow! It's almost time for him to return to London.
I'm really going to miss him too!
He's crazy! Do you know what he is taking back to England as a souvenir of Indianapolis? Three bottles of Old Spice High Endurance Body Wash (Fresh Scent). He said they don't sell it in England and it will remind him of me! Of course this isn't the only souvenir he is taking back. He bought a pair of wooden shoes and some Gouda cheese in Holland Michigan. I don't know why he did that. He lives only 200 miles from the Netherlands and he could have easily bought those things there. Like I said, he is
CRAZY!! I have a feeling the cheese is going to smell a little gamey by the time he gets back to London. I tried to warn him before he bought it but he wouldn't listen. Englishmen are so stubborn... at least Alex is. LOL I wonder what the customs officers will think when they open up his suitcase and get a whiff of it!
Alex is trying to talk me into coming to England around Christmas. I would love to go. I think England would be absolutely beautiful at Christmastime, but I don't know how I would ever be able to do it. I would have to put my animals in a kennel. My father's Parkinsons disease is slowing getting worse too. He is beginning to choke on his meals. The disease is starting to affect his swallowing. There is a chance I may have to move in with him temporarily. I don't really want to, but sooner or later someone will need to be there to keep an eye on him. I explained all of this to Alex, and now he is thinking about returning to Indiana for Christmas. I really don't know what is happening between the two of us. We have known each other for years and we even met in Florida a few years ago, so all of this is nothing new. But certain things did happen during his visit to Indianapolis. These kinds of relationships never work out though, and I have tried talking to Alex about it. How could it work? London is 4500 miles away from Indianapolis; an ocean and a half a world away. He sure is cute and lovable though.... and very thoughtful and kind. I will miss him a lot after he leaves. It has been fun.
Since Alex arrived, he has not only seen many parts of Indianapolis, but he has also seen New Orleans, Houma, Metairie, Chicago, Singing Sands Beach and the Indiana Dunes, Holland Michigan, Marion Indiana (James Dean's hometown) and Evansville. He toured a windmill, rode on a riverboat down the Mississippi river, ate lunch on Lakeshore Drive in Chicago, gambled at a casino, toured the Indianapolis 500 racetrack (the Brickyard), watched an Indianapolis Colts football game, an Indiana Pacer's basketball game (both on television), toured numerous museums, met my friends from our Native American group and attended my aunt's funeral. God. What a vacation. Fun, sad, exciting, laid back, and everything in between.
You never know what's in store for you when you spend some time with me!

Alex fell in love with my dog Cody (Cody fell in love with Alex too). We made a plaster "paw print" today for Alex to take home with him. We put Cody's paws into wet plaster and made an inprint. We painted it and I attached a picture of Cody to the plaster print. We tried to stick the cat's paws into it, but he hissed and ran off after we stuck his front left paw into the wet plaster. He didn't like it very much.
I'm going to miss Alex.
"But all good things must come to an end" as my mother always told me. Why do people have to live so far away from each other? It's not fair, is it?
Maybe we can work something out. Maybe Alex and I will see each other again in a month or two.
