Not Germany, but the region where I live. It's one of the warmest in Germany. We're the first every year where the almond trees bloom, we can grow figs and eggplants, even though normally we should be too far north for it. But we're hit directly by the the gulf stream. We also have very fruitful soil (loess) and more hours of sunlight per year than similar regions. That's why our wine is so good, and we're a famous asparagus region.
(Maybe I should work for the tourist office,  ;))

Oh, I've never heard it before. I've heard of the Christmas truce and of the movie, bit I didn't know this song. Heartwrenching
