Happy Christmas!

Jeff Wrangler:
I don't think I'll be sending out Christmas cards this year, except perhaps in response to cards I receive. Given my dad's health situation, I'm simply not motivated. I will probably skip the annual Medieval Yule Revel that I usually attend. Before I returned to Philadelphia, I put up the Christmas tree at my dad's home, because Christmas trees are cheerful, and I figured we both could use that. I will make a small effort in my own home, but I just don't feel very motivated.

I went to a talk about "Coping with the holidays" and one of the things they emphasized was that you must do whatever you feel is right, celebrate, observe, or don't do whatever doesn't feel right. I'm following that, and it feels good.

Good suggestions!

Part of my trouble may also be that I'm already feeling overwhelmed, and it's only December 1! :o

Feels to me like kind of a short season because the last Sunday of Advent just happens to be Christmas Eve, so essentially we have three weeks until Christmas, and I will "lose" the weekend of December 16--17, or at least Saturday, December 16, because my dad's medical procedure is Monday, December 18.

Completely understandable that you wouldn't feel motivated.  Sometimes life just gets  in the way of what we want to accomplish.

Yes exactly!

So be careful, Chuck!
