Nick Payne's IF THERE IS I HAVEN’T FOUND IT YET with Jake Gyllenhaal

Aloysius J. Gleek:

Yes, as an aphasiac (with hearing comprehension problems) I ALWAYS get more when I hear something repeated a second or even a third time, and this was my third visit to the show. (I saw it for the second time on October 20, and it was only AFTERWARDS that I was told by Teresa that on the 20th I missed one of the Talkbacks--with Jake in attendance!--because I was too dopy to realize--I just walked out rather than going downstairs   :o :'( ::)  )

I liked the new Fiona (Enid Graham replaced the Scottish actress Michelle Gomez) very much--not better, just very different.

 so sorry,john.

but at the same time it is a bit funny. of all days you choosed the best. maybe that was the reason in the first place.

anything special you would have asked him?

A last-minute visit to New York brought me back to the show, as there was another scheduled talk-back at today's matinee. The show has taken on a new significance since Sandy, of course, and Jake specifically addressed that today. Yes, he actually stayed for the after program, along with two climate experts from Columbia's Earth Institute.

I think Jake's accent was a bit thicker after spending his recent hiatus in London. I really liked Enid Graham as the new Fiona--much more sympathetic, I thought. At Jake's entrance, some older woman exclaimed, "that's him!" LOL

He was very thoughtful in his responses to questions, but said he had to leave soon. Again, I thought, he won't show up after a matinee, the damned vampire!

But I hung out at the stage door anyway in the cold and rain.

Annie Funke (who plays Jake's niece) came out and I thanked her for her performance and got her autograph.  Enid breezed out with a wave. I was gonna leave, but hung out anyway.

In a moment, I saw Jake inside the lobby, and my knees literally went weak. OMG!!!
In an instant he came out and because of the cold and rain, there were only a few people.
I threw down my umbrella, found a pen, greeted him, he signed my playbill, and asked for a photo, and voila!
He was warm, looked me right in the eye, and was simply LOVELY.

OK, I can die now!  Excuse me, I have to go and die now!

And, on our damn, seven year anniversary!

Aloysius J. Gleek:

Congratulations, Paul!!  :D :D :D

Meryl:
Paul, damn, what a way to celebrate the anniversary!  I doubt anyone will top that soon!  8)

So glad you stayed and were rewarded with LOVELY Jake.  LOL, I can see you hurling away your umbrella and going for it!  ;D
