A little Christmas music? That's a whole lot of Christmas music, and on the highest order. Harnoncourt is a master of early music. And the Viennese take Bach more seriously than do the Germans. This performance is with original instruments, but uses modern tuning which makes it sparkle. Its a wonderful rendering of the work.

Thanks for posting.  David, as you know, my daughter plays classical violin (as do you, I believe) and she loves this piece!  I'm hearing this particula version for the first time and it is wonderful!
