House of Cards with Kate Mara
Lynne:
I just saw that there is going to be Netflix original series called House of Cards, premiering February 1, 2013, with our own Kate Mara.
The trailer at Netflix looks pretty good; there was a different trailer at youtube that wasn't as interesting, but it will be fun to see. There will be lots of star-types in the cast, including Kevin Spacey. See what you think!

Mandy21:
I think as an actress, she will do well amongst her peers. She seems to be much more multi-layered than most people think. I hope she goes far.

Me too. One can debate the wisdom of accepting a role in The Shooter and/or the wisdom of doing a film with Mark Wahlberg, but Kate Mara was quite good in what was really a minor, yet important role.
Jeff Wrangler:
I am reading Emily Nussbaum's review of the series in the Feb. 25 issue of The New Yorker. She describes Kate as "awesomly hoydenish," and says that her performance is "the liveliest thing in the show."
(Now, there's a phrase for you: "awesomely hoydenish." ;D )
Mandy21:
Never heard that word in my life, so had to lift old Webster off the shelf:
hoy-den (hoid'n) - noun - A lively, boisterous, or saucy girl or young woman.
So, I guess she plays "a lively little gal"...
