Mel, a very beautiful song for a very sad day.
Wishing won't make it go away, the pain is there, will always be there. I am just so thankful to Authors like you
to take away some of the hurt by allowing Jack and Ennis to live on if only in our imagination.
Thank you Mel
Hugs and the best to you and you Sister,
Torry

Awww thank you Torry, you're so sweet! :-*
Yeah, that was my main motivation to write my stories, I knew there was a way in which they could have made it together, at least in an alternate universe... and I needed it to exist not only in my head, but put it on paper... Thanks for your sweet words... Mel

Time does not bring relief; you all have lied
Who told me time would ease me of my pain!
I miss him in the weeping of the rain;
I want him at the shrinking of the tide;
The old snows melt from every mountain-side,
And last year's leaves are smoke in every lane;
But last year's bitter loving must remain
Heaped on my heart, and my old thoughts abide.
There are a hundred places where I fear
To go--so with his memory they brim.
And entering with relief some quiet place
Where never fell his foot or shone his face
I say, 'There is no memory of him here!'
And so stand stricken, so remembering him.

OMG! Meryl, that was so fitting. Utterly heartbreaking but fitting!

Today is very special to me!
It is the culmination of a long journey that started on Brokeback Mountain with two cowboys I fell in love with.
Not a sexual kind of love but a love bourne of the pain of recognition. I saw myself in them. I saw my pain expressed in their lives I saw where and how I would end up if I didn't change.
All of this understanding was driven home in that post card that was returned to Ennis in that small post office in Riverton. We are not promised tomorrow. We have one life and one shot at living it to the fullest. Each day we don't do that is a day wasted that we will never get back. No, tomorrow may never come so if Ennis and Jack have taught us anything it is this "Seize the Day" Carpe Diem. my friends!Live each day as it were your last foritmay just be!
