Oh well, I will probably see it today. I always think Bond movies are incredibly formulistic, but there's not alot out there I wanta see today.
that's the thing about Casino Royale. It broke away from those formulas. They've done away with the gadgets, the "Bond Girls" with sexual names, the sexual innuendos. Instead, they've focused on character development, story and good writing. I really enjoyed the writing. The interchange between Bond and M in M's house, and the verbal sparring between Bond and Vesper on the train were just as entertaining as the action sequences, imo.
Especially #3 - I found the relationship tacked on and unnecessary, and though I understood the intention of including it, I thought it did nothing to move the narrative forward and it fact probably the only flaw in an otherwise perfect movie.
I half agree with you. You're right, they didn't exactly made it as convincing as they could, but I do think it is very much part of his character development as well as the plot. But yeah, that last half hour sort of dragged on a bit, didn't it?
and yeah, D Craig is very sexy. mm, those shoulders.
