Lucise -

Thanks much.  My son was equally awed.  That sequence is virtually worth the cost of admission!

Hey Barb - Too bad we live so far apart - we'd make great movie buddies!  And yes, Jack IS (as is Ennis) a separate being.  I can't believe that they can both still bring tears to my eyes.

that's the thing about Casino Royale. It broke away from those formulas. They've done away with the gadgets, the "Bond Girls" with sexual names, the sexual innuendos. Instead, they've focused on character development, story and good writing. I really enjoyed the writing. The interchange between Bond and M in M's house, and the verbal sparring between Bond and Vesper on the train were just as entertaining as the action sequences, imo.

I half agree with you. You're right, they didn't exactly made it as convincing as they could, but I do think it is very much part of his character development as well as the plot. But yeah, that last half hour sort of dragged on a bit, didn't it?

and yeah, D Craig is very sexy. mm, those shoulders.

Couldn't agree with you more, Nipith, on all counts.  Yes, it's the last half hour that felt tacked-on.  But I also thoroughly enjoyed the verbal sparring between James and Vesper on the train.

Cheers to character development!  What a concept!  :)

I'm inclined to go and see it just because the people who want us to boycott it seem to be such idiots.

And, well...

Who wants us to boycott it?

<--- has been out of the loop, apparently
