Still bristling at the slanderous accusation, Nicky turns up the collar of her trenchcoat, pulls the brim of her trilby over her eyes and takes a long pull on her 'Lucky Strike' cigarette...
...she clears her throat and motions to Kerry to join her in the shadowy doorway of a speakeasy, steam rising up around her from the street vents in this seedy side of town.
That's Detective Saucy to you... Listen, I got somethin' on MacFadyen, but it's gonna cost ya...
A dirty roll of marked dollar bills exchanges hands. Detective Saucy counts the bills and pushes them deep into the pocket of her trench, eyes darting and looking furtively at passers-by, the lost and forgotten of this dirty ol' town...
MacFadyen and that broad o' his... they got a kid... two years old... smiles a lot.
Detective Saucy starts to get nervous.
I'd skip this town if I was you, before the sh*t goes down. You can have that one for free...
Detective Saucy disappeares into the night, her trench flapping in the gusts from passing hooting taxicab's, casting long shadows in the rising steam...

Gasp! Saucy, your investigative skills are impressive! :o (I'm trying to be serious here, folks - genuinely giving Saucy a compliment!) They are, indeed, raising a child together. However, whether Matthew is the father or not, is another matter! ??? (You knew I couldn't keep from being bitchy for long!)
(Serious again) And I loooove your writing style. The atmosphere you conjured up there in just a few brief paragraphs was beautifully done! (and the use of dear sweet Jack's words was just lovely) :)
