Jake hosts SNL on January 13!!!!!
David:
Oh you just know they'll have at least one Brokeback joke or skit for Jake.
Which I am fine with as long as it is done in good humor. And I'm sure Jake wouldn't have it any other way.
Brown Eyes:
The whole idea of a BBM skit makes me nervous (not because I don't trust Jake, but because I don't have so much faith in the SNL writers). I don't know if I could handle seeing Jake parodying Brokeback (even in good humor). Truly. It would be too wierd for me. I mean, he's Jack. Nope. The whole idea doesn't work for me.

It's getting closer .
Bumping as a reminder. There's another thread over at movie resources.
Just think, the writers are finalizing skits, Jake could be rehearsing as we speak. Or do they just wing it on Saturday?
I know SNL does a complete dress rehearsal at 8pm on Saturday, complete with commercials for timing. They gauge the audience reaction and do the final cuts/additions.
I had a friend who worked for NBC and I was in the audience twice: the hosts were Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone (yeah, this was the late 80s). Had the whole NBC experience: Letterman in the afternoon (used to tape at 4:30), dinner at the Rainbow Room, SNL at 11:30, and then the cast party at some boite-du-jour.
Great fun to see how the show is done. The studio is really tiny. Most of the skits and Update are done right in front of the stage that you see. The sets are put up and broken down very quickly. The more elaborate sets are off to the side. Also, there are very few people in the audience. They use low camera angles to make it look bigger.
Alas, my friend no longer works for NBC, or you know where I'd be this Saturday! :)
Brown Eyes:
What do you all think about the idea of a chat here at BetterMost either during or after Jake's appearance? I feel like it might be a fun/ good moment to check in together. I think I'm going to make a thread about this in Social Forum.
MaineWriter:
In honor of Jake's hosting, my daughter Hannah created this little joke:
Those of you who don't get it are obviously way too young...but wait..Hannah is only 15! LOL
