Last year the cinema [OpenAir Cinema at Mrs Macquaries Point] sold 18,000 tickets in the first 14 hours, and tickets to films such as Brokeback Mountain were sold out in 45 minutes.

Through the season, 38 of the 40 nights were sold out and the 1880-seat cinema averaged 1798 patrons a night.

Mr Bryant said the spread of tickets sold to films in 2007 was different to this year's.

"There was a rush on Casino Royale but otherwise it was spread across different films," he said. "Brokeback Mountain was the talk of the town three months before it got here."

My Brokie friend and I were musing last night about the preferred pronunciation of the word coyote. I heard Jack say KUY-oat in the movie but I thought I might have heard Ennis say kuy-OAT-ee. What does everybody out there say??

Well, I say KIOTEEE.......pronounced......k-eye-otee...........

We dont have them out here in australia, but if we did thats what i'd call it....
