I was reviewing old posts in my blog and inspired by something Serious said. This could be a Brokieish song, especially if you spell Rain the way she did, rein!!
Only love can make it rain
The way the beach is kissed by the sea
Only love can make it rain
Like the sweat of lovers layin' in the fields
Love, reign o'er me
Love, reign o'er me
Rain on me, rain on me
Only love can bring the rain
That makes you yearn to the sky
Only love can bring the rain
That falls like tears from on high
Love, reign o'er me
Rain on me, rain on me
Love, reign o'er me
Rain on me, rain on me
On the dry and dusty road
The nights we spend apart alone
I need to get back home to cool, cool rain
I can't sleep, and I lay, and I think
The night is hot and black as ink
Woo, oh God, I need a drink of cool, cool rain
Love, reign o'er me
Reign o'er me, o'er me, o'er me, woah
Love, reign o'er me, o'er me

Here is a song that seemed very Brokieish, by a guy named Jake Bugg, which seems like a Prouxian name.
Anybody hear any recent songs that are Brokieish?

I love that song! Here's my favorite version (I may have posted it on your blog as well).
I feel like early in Brokiedom we used to spell it "ain't no reigns on this one." We also spelled it "hunh." I use the standard spellings in other contexts, but when I speak Brokese I normally use those spellings. In this case, though, to emphasize the connection with the song, I might have spelled it incorrectly in the other direction!

Thank you for posting that, friend. Back to the Jake Bugg song, I was just sure I'd heard it embedded in some movie or TV show. Fortunately, that's very simple to look up. It is in a show, three TV shows, in fact. But I haven't seen any of them. Strange.

I had a similar experience this week. I'm writing a story about the Minnesota Orchestra having music teachers from around the state play alongside them in concert this weekend. The piece they'll be performing is Gustav Holst's "Jupiter." I said I'd never heard of it (I'm not familiar with much classical music aside from what I learned in piano lessons and Barber's "Adagio for Strings" because of that haunting scene in Platoon). But when I watched the rehearsal Thursday, I realized it was in fact very familiar and that I'd probably heard it in soundtracks. So I looked it up on Wikipedia, and although it has been in some movies and TV shows, they weren't ones I've seen, with the exception of The Simpsons, and I didn't know whether I'd seen that particular episode.
I concluded that more soundtracks feature it than were listed but more subtly or something. There's no way I haven't heard that before and I've never seen the Orchestra, except for the St. Paul Symphony Orchestra in the late '90s, and I was pretty sure I wouldn't remember it from that.
