I love Allison Krauss as well. I love "I've got that old feelin" and "the lucky one" most of all.
I'm so glad there is a fellow Eva fan here.
I guess any heartfelt love song can bring to mind our boys!

:D Well, I ended up downloading "I know you by heart" last night when I read your suggestion and it is just so beautiful....
Do you also like Gordon Lightfoot? I saw him in concert last week, in Sparta, New Jersey!
He wrote and sung the most beautiful song in the world (in my opinion...), Shadows:

Let me reach out love and touch you
Let me hold you for awhile
I've been all around the world
Oh how I long to see you smile
There's a shadow on the moon
And the waters here below
Do not shine the way they should
And I love you just in case you didn't know
Let it go, let it happen like it happened once before
It's a wicked wind
And it chills me to the bone
And if you do not believe me
Come and gaze upon the shadow at your door
Won't you lie down by me baby
Run your fingers through my hands
I've been all around the town
And still I do not understand
Is it me or is it you
Or the shadow of a dream
Is it wrong to be in love
Could it be the finest love I've ever seen
Set it free, let it happen like it happened once before
It's a wicked wind
And it chills me to the bone
And if you do not believe me
Come and gaze upon the shadow at your door
Please kiss me gently darling
Where the river runs away
From the mountains in the springtime
On a blue and windy day
When there's beauty all around
As the shades of night grow deep
As the morning stars grow dim
They will find us in the shadows fast asleep
Let it go, let it happen like it happened once before
It's a wicked wind
And it chills me to the bone
And if you do not believe me
Come and gaze upon the shadow at your door
I cry EVERY time I listen to this song, it makes me so nostalgic, because my parents used to play this song when I was very little and now it also reminds me of Jack and Ennis so much.... :'(

You know "Beautiful"? I made a request for that a couple a months ago (pay attention there Eric!! - that's two of us making the same request) Have you heard his version of "Me & Bobby McGee"? He released that song some six months before Janis Joplin had a hit with it. It a very lovely version of Kris Kristofferson's song.
--- Quote from: Sheriff Roland on February 24, 2007, 11:35:09 pm ---Know what I'd like ta hear more of? Gordon Lightfoot - Know you played "If you could read my mind" in yer special at the beginnin a the month, but there's so much more that can be included in yer list: his version a "Me & Bobby McGee" preceeded Janis Joplin's version by about 8 months, I love album cuts like "Nous vivons ensemble (We've got to stay together)" and minor hits (well n Canada it wasn't minor) like "Beautiful" and "Rainy Day People"
Man! can that boy entertain.
Please consider includin at least one more tune: either "Me & Bobby McGee" or "Beautiful".
Appreciate it!
