--- Quote from: August7th on December 03, 2008, 06:41:34 pm ---Sunday night, February 29, 1976, and virtually every middle-class home in Childress, Texas, had its television tuned to ABC. Not every day that a movie like “The Sound of Music” comes on TV for the first time. Solid family entertainment, and Lureen had made sure that her family watched it. When the movie was over, she couldn’t stop praising Julie Andrews’ voice, and Bobby talked about how exciting it was when the family escaped from the bad guys at the end. Jack’s only comment was, “Sure got them some pretty mountains over there.”

Penthesilea:
There was a reason why he was so ambitious. He wanted to be the best salesman Newsome Farm Equipment ever had. LD thought it was the patronizing that had finally aroused his ambition, after two years of barely doing the minimum.

LD was wrong. His reason was a completely different one. It had sandy-brown hair that curled over the collar and brown eyes somewhere between honey and chocolate.

Jack wanted to be the most competent and successful salesman at Newsome's for as long as it would take to save enough money.

Now that he had found Ennis again, he needed every premium he could get. One of these days, they would have their own place.
