Are You a Summer Person or a Winter Person?

As some of the others have said, I like living in a place with seasons, although I am pretty sick of winter right now. I like the concept of spring and that would be my favorite season, although here in New England, I have come to accept that spring is more or less non-existent. We have mud, mud, mud for weeks, dreary rain, and then all of a sudden, it will be 95 degrees. I am not kidding! June is usually beautiful, although last year it rained for the entire month.
Generally, September and October are beautiful. Foliage lasted late into October this year, and November and December were very mild. It has only been "wintry" for about 6 weeks, but we have the rest of February and dreary March to look forward to.
A joke we have here in Maine is that there are two seasons: winter and July, but really, it's not that bad! LOL

This reminds me of a big 'flower show' a friend and I would go to in Boston (Feb or March) sponsored by some horticultural society with lawn, garden, landscaping companies, and amateurs participating - a 'forced' spring and summer when you 'knew' you had a couple more months of dreary to get through.

I'm totally a winter person. I grew up in the "snow belt" in Western New York. I remember ice skating on a pond near my house two Thanksgivings in a row when I was a little kid, and ice skating and ice boating on the lake that froze completely solid (and it's 250 feet deep!) for seven years in a row when I was an older kid. My mother used to have to beg me to come in from the cold. I could make snow forts/men/angels for hours.
On the flip side, I can hardly stand the heat. I've grown accustomed to it living in South Florida now for 13 years, but I don't like it. It's nice to hop in the pool now when it's really hot - at least I have that outlet. But if I don't have ready access to one and have to be outside when it's 85 - 90 degrees Farenheit for any length of time, I get downright nasty.
In order of preference:
Winter
Fall
Spring
Summer
I'd gladly live in Alaska or Canada. And I don't mind clouds and rain, either. Never have. I honestly don't think I'd have a problem living in London or Seattle or anywhere else where rain is common. I'm really kind of a homebody, though. I love to be outside when it's about 72 degrees Farenheit and the humidity is 50 to 65% - sweatshirt weather. Any warmer than that, and I'd just as soon be indoors.

I love autumn. It cools down and there is the anticipation of the holiday season to come...
Spring brings me horrible allergies, summer is ungodly hot in these parts, winter is bland and blah and kinda sorta gets cold-ish. This week is a fine example. Right now, as I sit and type, it's humid, dewpoint is heavy and it's raining off and on. I had my balcony door open to air out my apartment because the temperature is 60 degrees F. Tomorrow, a cold front is coming through and the highest it will get will be 45 degrees F. According to the long-term prediction, this 'cold winter weather' will last approximately 4 days, then the temperature will zap back up to 60s and 70s.
So much for winter. :P

When I read that it reminded me of when I lived in Fort Lauderdale. I LOVED opening up the terrace door, or opening the windows in the lanai and letting the fresh air roll into the house. We had a Jacaranda tree in our side yard next to the bedroom, and I always loved the scent of it drifting into the house.

I miss Florida. :(
