Sheriff Roland:
On this (and a number a subsequent) pic, I attempted ta portray the rocky outcrops that abound and define the 'Canadian Shield'

Thought they'd be bigger around Timmins, but I was wrong - that's my sister in my little escort.

Sheriff Roland:
Picture lookin south from the Arctic Watershed - which means, rainwater fallin in front a this spot will drain inta the Atlantic ocean (through the great lakes), and water fallin behind where I'm standin will drain towards the Arctic ocean (through Hudson Bay). Photo taken earlier on the trip, some 90 minutes outta Timmins.

Sheriff Roland:
In the 60's, when we had a cottage near here, there was no electricity. Dad had bought a very loud generator than ran on gasoline and wired the cottage up, which allowed us ta not only have the best beach property of both lakes, but also gave us electricity (for peek hours only) and indoor plumbing. Towrds the end a the decade, after havin paid only 2 000$ fer the property, and having made improvements to the tune a 3 000$, Dad sold it to family friends fer cost! - It was worth at least 3 times as much. Visited the lot on this trip, took some shots ... the place is unrecognizable - really expensive house, landscaping, the works ... Prob'ly worth 250 000$ (The church in town - a large one just sold fer the same price!)

Sheriff Roland:
