I do like that he pegged the thing that we all share - "we talk about them as if they were real..."

Because to us, they are.

 :) I have always said about BBM, the reason that we felt so much pain when we watched the movie was because we literally went through it with Jack and Ennis - as much as they felt, we did too - I don't think there ever was (nor maybe ever will be) another movie that brings the audience into the story like this one did - that was surely one of the most amazing of Ang's tricks - to make us feel that we were there - just awesome!

My film critic hero, Pauline Kael, would have loved this movie, and her blessing would have assured this movie the best pic Oscar.
