Both Jack and Ennis Wanted to be Together ALWAYS?

Watching for months now daily the film or parts of it, am asking if both Jack and Ennis wanted to be TOGETHER for always?

now there is the question!

one we have all been wrestling with...was it even possible if they did want to? Was there (in their minds) any real chance?

I think Jack really wanted it...but I think Ennis was so damaged emotionally that he couldn't even allow himself to dream it.

I think the fact they held a 20 year affair against all odds is proof. The fact that Ennis was "afraid" of being "found out" kept them from living together but not from being with each other. One way or another it was a forever relationship.

that I agree with Ross. I took the question to mean would they want to live together always...like Jack was saying at the reunion (on their own little farm)

but yes, I do believe that their love was one that would (and DID) last a lifetime...
