A song that makes me think of Brokeback Mountain

It's on the play list of BBM radio, which if you're not listening to, you should be...you will get your fill of songs that remind you of BBM.
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow
Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet
Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get
Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late

This has always been one of my favorite songs.. its goes perfect with Brokeback Mountain.
Its all about Ennis and Jack. Ya know why? Because it was too late for Ennis. Why couldnt he just let himself be who is was...a man deeply in love with another man. 'Riding fences'

Desperado is surely THE classic in this department. It bears repeating.
There's even a good German version of it, sung by Udo Lindenberg. Mostly I dislike German versions of songs in a foreign language. And I'm not much of a Lindenberg fan, but he made some good songs in his younger times and his Desperado is worth listening.

The following is a traditional Irish song, I decided to post both the original lyrics in Irish and the English translation after each stanza. This is actually one of my favourite songs ever.
Tá mé mo shuí (I am sitting)
Tá mé mo shuí ó d`éirigh`n ghealach aréir
Ag cur tein-e síos-go buan is á fadó go géar
Tá bunadh a` tí `na luí is tá mise liom féin
Tá na coiligh ag glaoch `san saol `na gcodladh ach mé
I am sitting up since the moon arose last night
Putting down a fire again and again and keeping it lit
The family is in bed and here am I by myself,
The cocks are crowing and the country is asleep but me.
`Sheacht mh`anam déag do bhéal do mhala is do ghrua
Do shúil ghorm ghlé-gheal fár thréig mé sionnach na lúb
Le cumha do dhiaidh ní léir dom an bealach a shiúil
Is a charaid mo chléibh tá na sléibhte `dul idir mé`s tú
I love your mouth, your eyebrows and your cheeks
Your bright blue eyes for whose sake I stopped hunting the wily fox
In longing for you I cannot see to walk the road
Friend of my bosom, the mountains lie between me and you.
Deiridh lucht léinn gur claoite an galar an grá
Char admhaigh mé é is é `ndiaidh mo chroí istigh a chrá
Aicid ró-ghéar, faraor nár sheachain mé í
Is go gcuireann sí arraing is céad go géar trí cheart-lár mo chroí
Learned men say that love is a fatal sickness
I never admitted it until now that my heart is broken:
It's a very painful illness, alas, I have not avoided it,
And it sends a hundred arrows through the core of my heart.
Casadh bean-tsí dom thíos ag Lios Bhéal Ath
D`fhiafraigh mé di an scaoilfeadh glas ar bith grá
Is é dúirt sí gos íseal i mbriathra soineannta sáimh
An grá a théid fán chroí ní scaoiltear as é go bráth
I met a fairy woman by the Faityrath near Ballina
I asked her would any key unlock the love in my heart
And she said in soft simple language
When love enters the heart it will never be driven from it

The song by nickelback on the radio now, "Far Away" fits perfectly. I'll try and post the lyrics. ;)
