Bingo!
How about
Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live
In cars
Here in my car
I can only receive
I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days
In cars
Here in my car
Where the image breaks down
Will you visit me please?
If I open my door
In cars
Here in my car
I know I've started to think
About leaving tonight
Although nothing seems right
In cars
Singer?

Gary Numan (I think that's how it is spelled)

One hit wonder Gary Newman -> I may not much like the 80's music, but I know it better'n my students' names
MaineWriter:
Very good, to both Ro and Marl...
Gotta love those one hit wonder guys...
L
Cameron:
Thanks L,
A couple of years ago, VH1 had a countdown show, 100 greatest one hit wonders, a lot of great forgotten songs.
My favorite, the song I loved in JHS, (I don't think it was there though)
Shannon, by Henry Gross. I loved that song, but it was wierd, about a dead dog actually.
