Hugh Jackman
I want to remind everyone of the instructions in my will for the disposal of my remains. Please make sure I am cremated and my ashes are spread over Hugh! (preferably while he's naked) ::)
Wow! Thanks Leslie. Wait until Canada wakes up! Milllliiiii!!!!! Where are you?? ;D

and this must be from a "Sexiest Man" list, though I don't understand how he could only be at number 8:

poor Impish. I'm not sure you'll ever see a film like that, but I do believe Hugh is sure pretty enough to play a gay male lead role... say maybe that Rock Hudson biopic that they were rumoring Heath Ledger for?i dont see heath as rock hudson but thats just me...
i dont see heath as rock hudson but thats just me...

What do you think? Clint Eastwood and Hugh Jackman - separated at birth?
actually, Fabienne, the way he is draped over that bed that way is reminiscent of some recent scenes in "The Red Stallion"... don't you think?Okay, Louise, how am I supposed to sleep now, with that image going around in my head?! :o
Hugh's chest! He's so hot. ;D

"Standard in the contract, eh?" ... I sure aint complaining! 8)
that's a jumper, Leslie.
oh my lord I think he padded his trousers!
She's a tall woman, and good looking too. However, IMO Hugh's hair style (a cowlick?) doesn't do him any favor, does it?
Today's Sunday paper magazine carries a cover story on Hugh - sorry no weblink. Titled Hugh Jackman the action hero turned movie mogul, it talks about his mega movie deals etc.
The woman who interviewed Hugh compares his "gentlemanly ways" with Gregory Peck. She arrives late for lunch and writes:
"He puts down his glass and dismisses my flustered apologies with an old school charm. ... Jackman projects both gallantry and mischief. There is a puckish wrinkle in his nose when he laughs and he somehow triggers the fantasy that if one were to faint - which one might, right now, on purpose - he would swoop in and pick up the pieces."
Apparently he changes his body for every role, practising yoga for a year for one scene in The Fountain and tai chi for a 30-second clip. His stamina is said to be "astounding" - be still all our hearts!
Here is perspective for you.
Yesterday (Saturday) I met some of my fellow Rosicrucians (or roasted croutons as we call them) at the local lodge in Melbourne. I ate a very large quantity of fresh tropical Australian watermelon, and mentioned to them that I and many of my friends are complete squeeing (I used another word) fans.
And a very sober lady looked up at me and squinted slightly and said "I studied philosophy in school with Hugh Jackman, he didn't seem like anyone special at the time... barely noticed him."
Did he get pretty by some mystical means? Neither she nor anyone else sitting in the room had ever seen one of his films! Then another lady piped up and said "Movie stars aren't much. I know one of them, his mother is German, father is Bulgarian. Used to be Banna(unintelligible Bulgarian name). Goes by Eric Bana now. Had him over to the house I don't know how many times."
Eric Banadinovich. He is sooooooooooo HOT!! I went to see Munich and had a hard time paying attention to the plot because I couldn't stop looking at him. Here's a picture
(http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j120/nataligv_2006/manip027.jpg)
Hehehee... You talk to most Aussies and we just remember Eric Bana as the dorky little comedian from the TV. He's a very good impersonator, which is probably why he makes a good actor as well. We all thought he was just a funny guy until the opportunity came up for him to play Mark "Chopper" Read, a notorious Aussie thug, crim and murderer. He just NAILED this guy in the movie and suddenly everybody was like "wow, he can ACT!" He gained heaps of weight to play him and if you've ever seen the real "Chopper" interviewed... oh god, he just nailed him.
I'm really glad that Hollywood has noticed though - he deserves it. :)
Sheyne! There you are!
I was inquiring about where you were, I have come to Australia and I am on a Hugh-hunt! Well really I got a job in Melbourne, but... I want to get to know all of the Aussie Bettermostians if I can.
Imagine him playing Ennis in a BBM musical. I'd certainly go to NYC to see it, if it ever panned out.

Great pictures Louise :)
I'm really looking forward to this new Jackman film Australia. Any news when it will be released Leslie?
I winced too, then refocused my attention on the slick shark suit and just watched him walk and leer and lost consciousness of everything else that was so contrived about it!

In Australia, a drama set in the northern part of the country on the cusp of World War II, Jackman's ranch worker and Kidman's English aristocrat are on a cattle drive when they experience the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by Japanese forces. He says it's bigger than any other film shot in Australia.
"It's probably the role of a lifetime for me, this feast of a movie. It's Gone With the Wind and Out of Africa and The African Queen for me," he says.
from dlisted.com....Hugh on the beach in Sydney. His son drew the picture on the shirt he is wearing (Christmas present).

Hugh is doing some sort of new working out because I have never seen his chest and torso so... curvaceous! Oh MY!!!
Holy smoke, Hugh! Phew! Those are some good pictures....
L
That sure is a good piccy Leslie. :o :o :o Do you wanna know what I,d like to do to that perfect tummy?? No maybe that,s a bit too much information lol.
Hahahahah my imagination is working overtime right now...and it is only 8:20 am! LOL
Well now speaking of your imagination Leslie, I don,t spose it feels like stretching to a little story about "your boys" building that outdoor shower?? Remember that? Now that would be nice. I miss your boys, they were fun. *prays* ;) ;D
Mmmm yummy!!!!
from CinemaBlend...more about the podcasts.
Baz Luhrmann Takes Us On Set
Studios and filmmakers are constantly coming up with new ways to market their movies online, but the deal Baz Luhrmann has struck with Apple is like nothing I’ve ever seen. They’re calling it the Set to Screen series, and they’re including it under the mantle of Apple’s “education” efforts. OK, yes, there’s some education involved, but what it really amounts to is amazing, amazing film promotion.
Luhrmann recorded a series of video podcasts while on the set of his new movie, Australia, set to come out in November. Each podcast focuses on a different element of production, from the set photographer (featured in the newest podcast) to sound recording. Some of the podcasts come with a contest, in which high school and college students are encouraged to make a specific kind of film project. The winner of each contest will win a trip to Australia, and the winner of the final contest will go on publicity rounds with Baz Luhrmann himself. College film students should be doing backflips right about now.
Even if you’re not a student, though, there’s a lot to enjoy in the podcasts. Australia is a World War II-era epic set in the outback, and the shooting locations seen in the podcast must be some of the most gorgeous places in the world. Plus, the film’s stars Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman get plenty of face time, and it’s hard to pick between them and the scenery as to which is more irresistible. Luhrmann himself is the guide through most of the podcasts, and he’s surprisingly personable and funny for someone who’s made a career out of lush, avant garde romances.
Yes, there’s some considerable Apple product placement strewn about, but who seriously hates Apple at this point? The podcasts are worth a view if you’re interested in movies, interested in Australia, or find Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman remotely attractive. Basically, they’re for everyone. And they’re going to turn us into a rabid army of movie fans counting down the minutes until Australia’s release. You’ve been warned.
Thanks for all the great pics and links. The word on "Deception" doesn't sound very promising, does it? But I'm sure I'll at least rent it even if it disappears quickly. I went to the official website and this litte audio clip: "Do you like being a lawyer? Yeah, it's all right I guess, if you like working with asses" gave me a pretty good chuckle.
As for this pic:
Lordy lordy, there isn't a millimeter of this man that isn't sheer perfection.
Marie
omg those quotes are a howl!
Hugh fans, keep a close eye for this...Ewan receives a fax from the NYPD with info about who Hugh really is. On the fax are two of our favorite Hugh pictures:

I almost laughed out loud when I saw them!!
LOL! I probably would've yelled out, "Ellery!" There are a lot of great "Hugh" pics - but those two, in my mind, are "Ellery" pics.
Thanks for the review!
Marie
What do you think Leslie? Are the pictures a coincidence? Hmmm...
I think Hugh knows about Ellery.... ;)
Oh my ...... *feels faint* And to think that she actually collected a paycheck. Another example that Life is Not Fair. :)
Thanks, L!
Marie
Does he EVER not look good??
Thanks for posting these Leslie.
I found this youtube of Hugh speaking about his role as Joe Gillis in "Sunset Boulevard" in 1997.
He looks so young!

There is something just so supernatural about his good looks. :-*
He was on GMA this week. I am not a massive fan, but that changed after the interview. He was utterly charming and witty. Then they showed a clip of him from the film.He is naked from the waist up!!!!
I have never ever seen a body like it.I was gob smacked. It puts Michael Angelo's David to shame. If it is any where on Youtube you have to watch if you are a Hugh fan.
I am not particularly, but that could all change. The man lloks like he has been chiseled out of solid granite.
a few of Hugh and Nicole

What is it with Nicole Kidman's smile? It looks more like a grin to me. ???
Hugh looks terrific!
There was an almost page wide article in our newspaper today about the movie and the extremly high expectations surrounding it. I can't wait to read the first reviews.
Too much botox?
I do hope this movie is a success. We Aussies love to show off our country and a movie like this will really boost tourism over here. I hope the critics give it a chance, and everyone will go out to see it.
You know what? It's going to be a success in my book. This is the kind of movie I love! After all, I am one of the last 100 Titanic fans left on the planet. I know this movie is right up my alley and give me Hugh Jackman over Leonardo DiCaprio any day of the week.
I am so in line next Wednesday...
L
Leslie, I do hope "Australia" is better than "Titanic"! :-*
So, based on the reviews, basically the story is a big oater, but with good zings from time to time to keep it from being hackneyed.
As one reviewer said,
If all else fails there is always Jackman, stripped to the waist, under the shower. That if nothing else should pull them in.
:o ...Where do I buy my ticket? ;D
'Hugh stripped to the waist under the shower' Oh, my...(http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m312/Belbbmfan/thfaint.gif)
BTW, what's an oater? ???

So, today is the big day, right? Who's going to see it tonight? Leslie, I know you are. I'll be waiting to read your review. Unless you have to recover first for a bit of course. ;)
I have to wait another 21 days. :-\

It is absollutely fantastic that Hugh has been chosen to host the Oscars.
There is not doubt in my mind that it will be entertainment Plus, as well as good humour and CLASS CLASS CLASS....
As an Australian I am very very proud of him....he is a wonderful ambassador for our country and for the entertainment industry.
Yes, I know what you all are saying.
Lets hope we just see the real everyday guy that Hugh is, and he is not compelled to get into all the false Oscar hype that often goes on with these award shows.
By the way, when is it?
I kinda hope he neither sings nor dances; that's OK for Broadway, but doesn't have much to do with the Oscars. Unless he does one of those awful Billy Crystal era medleys.
He looks like Ringo Starr in those shades
That is probably one of the reasons he is the sexiest man alive. What a sweetheart.
;DIt's uncanny! ;)(http://206.47.170.43/channels/images/RingoStarr.jpg)
December 29th. Notice the Massachusetts license plate. I was sort of wondering what Paul was up to on New Year's Eve. Paul...? Hmmm?
Well, no where near NYC. Plus, you know my license plate! Plus, I wouldn't be caught dead in a Caravan!
BTW, did you ever find out who has Maine's "BRK BCK"?
First Oscar promo pick of this year's host:

Oh, no, is he gonna dance?
(Sorry, Leslie! :-*)
Actually, that looks like he is jumping rope, which would surely be a first for the Oscars!
Maybe he'll also do some wrestling moves!
That would get Tom Cruise panting! ;) ;) ;D
L
You're in rare form today.
How about Hugh doing a little Bollywood number?
Hugh, wearing his tux and talking about the Oscars!

(((Marie)))
I hear you. The whole Oscar thing will pass me by this year, which suits me just fine (well, apart from Hugh of course). We're leaving for the French Alps tomorrow to go skiing. And the computer isn't coming along. ;D
I'll look for all the yummy Hugh pictures here when I get back next week.
