Title: Simpsons episode - Bart & shirt
Post by: Shuggy on May 23, 2007, 01:15:43 am
I just saw the Simpsons episode in which Bart becomes bully Nelson Muntz's only friend.

spoiler

When it's over, Bart goes to his wardrobe, looks at a photo of Nelson, takes down the vest Nelson has givin him, still in its hanger, and nuzzles it a la Ennis.

Am I right that the music was the big three chords of BBM, but munged to avoid copyright?

Does this mean they're never going to parody the whole film? I can imagine Bart and Milhouse going off camping together, and snuggling to get warm, just snuggling. It could be very funny.

From an episode guide:

Haw-hawked Couple (#JABF02 / SI-1802)    10 Dec 2006
This episode may actually be titled "The Haw-Hawed Couple" (a reference to The Odd Couple), but the Fox press releases all say "Haw-Hawked"
Bart gets his friends to boycott Nelson's birthday party, only for Bart to end up being forced to attend by Marge; this leads to Nelson becoming Bart's new best friend (and bodyguard), which sounds like a good thing for Bart until he discovers how jealous Nelson can be; Homer reads to Lisa at night, only for him to try to hide the "big surprise ending" when he discovers it's not exactly happy

It is a great episode, Dave!  I've seen it several times now.  The Simpsons is not what it used to be, but is still very smart, very cool.  The show is a mirror!
