It's one of the few awards she has not received. It would be so ironic if she got it this year. Does anyone know if you have to have been a very prolific writer, i.e. what the criteria is. I know, unlike the Pulitzer Prize, it's a lifetime achievement award. And she's 70, so she has lived a lifetime. I mean, how many more books can she write.
Does anyone know if she's ever been nominated for the Nobel Prize? I think they nominate over 100 writers and of course select one. Of course, unlike the cheap-skate Oscars, there is some financial reward, not just a metal. Is it 700,000 Euros.
Oh, and Ang Lee for the Nobel Peace Prize for promoting tolerance. I think I'm dreaming there. ::) I'm sure he would donate the funds to some worthwhile cause.
