Entertainment Weekly has listed 20 of the most perfect film endings.  Brokeback is number 12.  Here's the link:

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (2005)
On paper, it's a deceptively simple moment. Just a grizzled, middle-aged cowboy (Heath Ledger) opening his closet to straighten his late lover's old, denim work-shirt and thumb a faded postcard of their secret romantic getaway. Yet in a film where the central characters leave so much unsaid, Ennis' tearful final act speaks volumes about the nature of love, loss, and self-denial for two men torn apart by the unforgiving forces of time and circumstance. —Michael Slezak

I do NOT consider the BM movie with a perfect ending!!

It is nearly otherwise: too harsh!!

And too sad for us gay men!!

Hugs!!
