Besides a headache from too many martinis...
Let's play 20 (or however many) questions!
It's bigger than a postage stamp and smaller than a puppy!
Milli has inside info so she's ineligible for the prize...
If no one gets it right away, I'll answer and send a goodie in a week.

Is it consumable?
-
Is it alive?
-
No, it's not alive nor consumable.
This is fun!
-
Is it metal?
-
Not metal!
-
Is it made of a natural fiber, ie, cotton or wool?
-
Did it make you smile?
-
Is it BBM-related?
-
It is not made of natural fiber.
I am still grinning ear-to-ear, and it is DEFINITELY Brokeback Mountain related!!!
-
Is it meant to be hung on a tree?
-
No, it doesn't get hung on a tree.
-
Is it meant to be worn?
-
Yes, Leslie, but not in the traditional sense.
-
Are you supposed to cuddle it?
-
No, not specifically.
-
If someone saw this, would they be likely to say, "Oh, that's so beautiful!"?
-
Is it a miniature something?
-
Is it colorful?
-
Brokies will find it beautiful.
It is miniature though not particularly colorful.
-
Is it from Alberta? (thinking about Milli...)
-
Is it something you told me about when I was on cold medicine and I blacked it out?
-
No, Paul, it's not from lovely Alberta.
And yes, Truman, I may have already mentioned it to you  though it's anybody's guess as to why you might block it out!
-
Is it something that comes from the actual movie, "Brokeback Mountain"?
-
No, Shasta, it did not come directly from the movie, though inspired by both short story and film.
-
Is it a model vehicle?
-
Is it jewelry or some other kind of adornment?
-
is it a drawing?
-
Shasta - not a model truck...sorry.
Amanda and Paul - you are starting to make me squirm!!
It is not jewelry, but it is an adornment. And it is based on a drawing, hence Milli's involvement.
-
Is it a tattoo??
-
Shasta!!!!
You got it baby!
-
Is it a tattoo??
D'oh! You beat me to it! Tattoo was what I was trying subtly to imply with "adornment".
;D

;D
LOL! Thanks for the hint, Amanda! ;D
Are you gonna post a picture Lynne? I hope so!
-
Sid held my hand the whole time and is under strict orders to say I was as stoic as a Wyoming cowboy!! ;-)
-
Yeah you did tell me that.....when we were in the pink car driving across the bridge to France.....
-
Is it on your ankle?
That was fun -- got any more stuff for us to guess?
-
I definitely will post a picture in a couple of days when the redness fades a bit.
We need a runner-up prize too for Amanda I think.
-
Wow! That's great! So, Milli sent a drawing, and you're having/had it transferred via tatoo?
Is it in a place suitable for mixed company to see? ::)
-
Oh, a tattoo! Can't wait to see it.
So what is it? A pair of cowboy hats? A little mountain? What?
-
LOL Truman...did we drink martini's in France or whine??
It's on my right calf. So Paul, if you're sure you can control yourself, I'll show you next time we meet
-
Leslie, y'all have to wait on pictures! This was a fun way to spend a morning without electricity but my pda power is dwindling...someone else start a guessing game!!
-

No, no, Shasta won the prize fair and square... no doubt about it.
Can't wait to see the pics!
-
I'm dying to see the pics. This thread was such fun to read :).
Congrats on your tattoo Lynne. You're a brave woman!

Can't wait to see the picks!
We can share! Brokies share. ;)

I'll try; but I might still blush.
-
Oh, I should have guessed it (I just found this thread, but didn't get it before you revealed it) because I remember you saying at the BBQ that you were GOING to get one. How exciting! I believe this is a Brokie first, isn't it?
Can't wait to see the pix!
-
Katherine, I believe Chuck has a tatoo of two cowboy hats on his arm.
-
I could so have gotten this...but I didnt see it until you had the reveal... Good for you Lynne...
I remember the time in the room at the bar b que when you mentioned it. Then we talked again
about it on the Brokie train.... good on ya...
-
Congratulations Lynne! You are a very brave woman! :)
-
LOL Paul!
I have heard of a couple of DC folks having different things, but Chuck wasn't one mentioned...hopefully mine's original even if it's not the first. There's a deliberate flaw to weed out real Brokies from the rest ;-)
I contemplated a can of BetterMost beans on my a$$ but thought again :-)

Sort of an appropriate place.

You're teasing us, girl.
I hope you didn't have this tattooed:

;D ;) ;) ;D  ;) ;D
-
You put a deliberate flaw in a tattoo?? huh :-\
-
I'm very intrigued by the "deliberate flaw" concept as well. I hope I would pass the test if I saw it!
-
This train ride is very dull...so another prize to whomever can guess the text of the tattoo (RouxB anf Sid are not eligible) ;-)
)Ou may ask questions to help you narrow it down.
Have fun!
-
"Let be, let be."
-
;)
-
Excellent job, Shasta! You got it in one!!
Now how am I s'posed to entertain myself, hunh?
-
   You're kidding! LOL
Well, we could guess --- some stuff about the tattoo artist.
Or, we could guess another one of your Christmas gifts.
We could guess who/what you and RouxB are seeing on the train!
I don't know. :P ::)
"I spy." :)
Why is it boring -- is it just dark outside?
-
LOL...whoops I went to sleep. Almost there now...just me. I'll get more RouxB time next weekend.
-
That's a cool quotation to get Lynne. I'm still curious about the "deliberate flaw" aspect of the tattoo. What do you mean by that? ???
"Let be, let be." appears to be the correct way to write this quotation (double checking with Close Range and all).
-
And Amanda Brokie Extraordinaire finds the flaw! :D
The artist wrote it in script on two lines as follows:
Let be...
Let be...
Clearly a departure from short story capitalization and punctuation...

That's how Rodney would say it.

I think you're right, Paul - I can hear him doing just that!
Here's the finished product, tho there is still some irritation and redness I'm told will heal in the next 10 days or so. Edit: It's not as icky as it looks close-up...like I said the redness will fade.

Hi Lynne,
I think that looks great! I love the way the script looks. And, from what I can see, even the hat bands on the cowboy hats look right... especially the hat band on Ennis's hat (I can't really see the one on the black hat too well).
You're a brave woman! I know I'd be too scared to get a tattoo.
Again, this one looks great!
:)
-
Thanks, Amanda! Milli did the hats from one of the dozy embrace scenes - it was important to me that they overlap. And I think the artist reproduced them really well in terms of the bands and the shadows and shading..kinda hard to tell with raw skin peeking thru at the moment.
I'm very pleased with it and I swear it only stung a little - I am a big baby about pain, so I wouldn't lie...Sid did a good job of laughing and keeping me preoccupied. ;)
-
Lynne, it looks great! I love the overlapping hats and the rope is very natural and flowing. It's a beautiful design. :)

Thanks, Fabienne! Design credit goes to Milli and the tattoo artist...he kept the stencil, if you want me to send it to you.
-
It is lovely.Lynne. I know you have been wanting this for a very long time...Its beautiful. Capital
letters are beautiful............... :-* :-*
-
Thanks, Janice! I'm looking forward to showing you in person in the next week or two! Sorry we got cut off our phone call today - my battery went dead, I think.

It's beautiful Lynne. Love the Dozy Embrace positioning of the hats, and the script, but the best is the rope around the hats, holding them together.
Big compliments to Milli for designing it! You're truly an artist (as if we needed any more proof ;)).

Hm - hm - hm It sure looks very hurtful, even a few days after the procedure.
-
Looks great, Lynne and Milli!
Lynne, if you're ever so inclined, I'd love to see a picture of it "in context" -- that is, where you can see your whole leg. Hope this request doesn't sound too weird, but that would give a better idea of scale and positioning, etc.

I had the exact same thought. Am I also weird? ;)

Possibly! This is the first time I've ever asked anyone to post a picture of a body part!
-
How about a picture of the whole Lynne (with her leg well lit). :)

That would be especially nice! :)
-
You did it!!
The tatt looks awesome Lynne, I'm tempted to get one of me own! 8)
-
WOW~!
-
I love your new Tattoo Lynne. Very well done. The art work is exceptional as only Milli can do.. Very cool
I too would like to see a larger pic, not so close up. :)
I have a tat on my inner calf. Very large though, and most of the time I love her..She's my guiding light fairy. Somehow i dont think all folks like her so much, but i do get compliments on it.
The most embaressing one was from my doctor during my yearly exam. Actually it pissed me off too. After all I wasnt there to show off my tat....hehehehe
-
wow Lynne this is just me seeing this! Its great!
-
oh and add it to the tats thread in bettermost people!

Wow! That looks so painful, but worth it I am sure.
Owwwwwwwwww!
