Hooray!
Everyone should buy the widescreen version.... I'm sure that's what Ang would want. If you knew how much gets cut in the "full screen" version, you'd see the irony: it may be "full screen," but it's not the "full movie!"
I'm sad to see no mention made of a commentary track by Lee in the "Special Features." He's done them for his other movies, and I find them fascinating.
Oh well, perhaps I can lookforward to a ten-year anniversary edition with commentaries by Lee, Ledger, and Gyllenhaal!

Have you seen this video interview of Ang? It's more interesting than fascinating, though.

The Amazon website for this DVD allows users to rate it (DO!) and also has a streaming video (about 3-4 minutes) of Ang Lee, Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal discussing the movie, the story, and making it. Very wonderful stuff.

I can't locate the link to rate it.... there's one to write a review, but is there another that's solely about rating it?
Also, a tip for obtaining BBM cheaply: you can pre-order BBM at Amazon for less than $17 at the moment, and can get free shipping (UPS ground) on orders over $25.
But there's a better way: sign-up for a 3-month free trial of "Amazon Prime." Then all orders get free shipping on 2nd-day air. All you have to do is cancel the Prime membership before the 3-month trial is over to avoid any charges.
I know many of us will probably just go to our local store so that we can be watching it that night. Still, I wanted you to know about this great price and free shipping deal.
