Title: Brokeback Mountain and BetterMost Oblique Photo Thread: Unveiled
Post by: Lynne on October 08, 2008, 07:39:51 am
This is the sister thread to the Brokeback Mountain and BetterMost Oblique Photo Thread:

http://bettermost.net/forum/index.php/topic,27106.0.html

which is for posting discussions, explanations, etc... for the random and possibly obscure photos we take that remind us in some way of Brokeback Mountain, BetterMost, and our friends here!

I went walking on the beach when I was visiting San Diego in January...liked the sign for Jake's Del Mar:  http://www.jakesdelmar.com/

While exploring downtown Seattle in June, EnjaRoux, atz75, and I were impressed by the Quiksilver Boardriders Club on Pike Street.  This has the distinction of two connections for me - Annie's reference to Jake as having a 'quicksilver' quality mated with Heath's love of skateboarding.

While tooling around after watching the sunset, again on the trip to Seattle in June, Elle, EnjaRoux, atz75, and I found a new office for shakestheground!

He's a realtor who works in the Blue Ridge Mountains, after all!  ;)

Great idea, Lynne!  8)

On Mikaela's and my trip out West, we saw the Siesta Motel in Durango and had to take pictures.

Also, on the way out of the Grand Canyon, a certain coyote reminded us of apples.

The first photo, of course, reminded me of Heath and his unfinished movie - so much unrealized potential there.  :'(

The second made me think of our very own Brother Patrick and send good thoughts his way.

LauraGigs and I immediately noticed this sign, thinking of the Mexican whore approaching Jack, "SeƱor?"

Sacrilege and blasphemy, I know...
