Title: Principal and chairwoman honored for BBM in Austin, TX.
Post by: adrian on July 06, 2006, 04:23:16 am
Hi everyone

Thanks to the ethics of these women, "Brokeback Mountain" by Annie Proulx, will remain as part of their 12th grade reading material.  Even a $3M gift (bribe) from a parent to remove it from their curriculum could not sway these wonderful ladies.

Thanks so much for posting this, Adrian!!  It really warms my heart to hear about everyday people standing up for their beliefs.

That is a good thing. I hope the briber will one day read the story and experence a moment of relief that they did not get to throw their money away.

I think the bribe was in the form of a donation to the school.
