Title: Bumper stickers for the rest of us
Post by: ednbarby on July 31, 2006, 10:56:34 am
Got these in an email today.  Supposedly real bumper stickers spotted in Ohio over the last year.  True or not, I'd like to display pretty much all of them.

BLIND FAITH IN BAD LEADERSHIP IS NOT PATRIOTISM

IF YOU SUPPORTED BUSH, A YELLOW RIBBON WON'T MAKE UP FOR IT

POVERTY, HEALTH CARE & HOMELESSNESS ARE MORAL ISSUES

OF COURSE IT HURTS. YOU'RE GETTING SCREWED BY AN ELEPHANT.

RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISM: A THREAT ABROAD, A THREAT AT HOME

BUSH SPENT YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY ON HIS WAR  (particularly appropriate here in the Sunshine State)

WHO WOULD JESUS BOMB?

IF YOU SUPPORT BUSH'S WAR, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? SHUT UP AND SHIP OUT.

FEEL SAFER NOW?

I'D RATHER HAVE A PRESIDENT WHO SCREWED HIS INTERN THAN ONE WHO SCREWED HIS COUNTRY.

MY VALUES? FREE SPEECH. EQUALITY. LIBERTY. EDUCATION. TOLERANCE.

IS IT 2008 YET?  (I've seen that one down here, too.)

DISSENT IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF PATRIOTISM  -- Thomas Jefferson

DON'T BLAME ME. I VOTED AGAINST BUSH -- TWICE!

ANNOY A CONSERVATIVE - THINK FOR YOURSELF.

CORPORATE MEDIA = MASS MIND CONTROL

GEORGE W. BUSH: MAKING TERRORISTS FASTER THAN HE CAN KILL THEM

KEEP YOUR THEOCRACY OFF MY DEMOCRACY

CORPORATE MEDIA: WEAPONS OF MASS DECEPTION

DON'T CONFUSE DYING FOR OIL WITH FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM

STEM CELL RESEARCH IS PRO LIFE

HATE, GREED, IGNORANCE: WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION

REBUILD IRAQ? WHY NOT SPEND 87 BILLION ON AMERICA?

FACT: OIL 1999 - $19 BARREL; OIL 2006 - $70 BARREL

THE LAST TIME RELIGION CONTROLLED POLITICS, PEOPLE GOT BURNED AT THE STAKE

I'LL GIVE UP MY CHOICE WHEN JOHN ROBERTS GETS PREGNANT

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS - IMPEACH BUSH  (I've seen that one down here a few times)

HOW ON EARTH CAN 59,411,287 PEOPLE BE SO DUMB?

What great bumper stickers!  I have a van - guess I could get them all on it!   :D

(Watched a segment of 60 minutes where an employee was fired for having a Kerry bumper sticker! - perfectly legal for the employer)  Sad.

WTF??!!   :o

If they went and plastered the bumper sticker on their employer's ass or something, then I could see firing being justified. But if it was on their own car, in the parking lot, then how in hell is it legal to fire somebody for that?

Just what I thought.  Just what the employee thought & they tried to file a case against the employer but there was an "at will" law -

I work for WA State - a supervisor was fired for getting drunk in her own house, on her own time @ her own Christmas party for starting to do a little strip tease (stopped by her husband) because an invited female employee complained (not all employees were invited & it was not mandatory).  The charge - sexual harrassment.

I love all these--where can I get them? Seems strange, but I see a lot of Kerry/Edwards stickers on cars still. Some of them seem new.

Not many of these are here verbatim, but this is an excellent start:

I heard someone got a ticket in Georgia, in the Atlanta area even, for driving down the road with this one on her car:

Here's a site for creating your own custom bumper sticker.  This was where I had them make my "I didn't vote for his brother, either" one.

The quality was lacking on these stickers - I like to be able to put mine on my rear window, then peel them off/change them out when the mood hits me.  These fell apart when I did that.  Just google "custom bumper stickers" and a bunch of sites come up where you can design your own.  The evovlefish ones are of very high quality - I've peeled them, stored them, and re-affixed them a couple of times and they've held up great.  I think they're only about $2 a pop, but worth their weight in gold.

I do too... I still have one, but It's just sitting on my nightstand, it was only taped in my window because bumperstickers freak me out... but I really do think that I would put any of those on my car.  Especially now...

Thanks for sharing Barb!  ;D

Which ones specifically are you looking for. I think I can get most of them, for about $2.50 each.
