This from today's [10/22/06] issue:
"Saturday: Gay cowboys! Well, not really. But the woman who wrote about gay cowboys - author Annie Proulx, whose short story, "Brokeback Mountain," appeared in the New Yorker in 1997 - will speak at the Mercantile Library's 19th annual Niehoff Lecture. The library's primary fundraising event begins at 7 p.m. at the Downtown Westin Hotel. Tickets are $175 a person and include dinner"

Is that tonight?

I phoned them (513-621-0717) and was told tickets are still available. You may purchase them over the phone using Visa/MC (or in person at the library). Tickets are $175 for non-members/$150 for members. Wednesday will be the last day to purchase tickets (because dinner is included).
The event is at 7 pm 10/28 in the Presidential Ballroom of the Westin Hotel in Cincinnati.
