He's got the right sense of humour, and doesn't takle himself too seriously, and he's got the style *and* the looks...... They'll probably make him look really weird in some of the skits.

My main gripe, of course, is that this show doesn't air for the whole world to see it. I can only cross my fingers and rely on some kind soul getting it all out on YouTube or the like, so us non-Americans can join in the fun.

In fact, I lived in the UK for a few years and I remember there used to be a show called exactly that on TV. But it was British. Maybe both countries have it (don't know if they still run it in the UK).

Actually, Saturday Night Live, as I have always perceived it, is more than just a show, but a cultural icon. To host it is actually an honor, bestowed on only the coolest of the cool (or at least the flavor of the month), and a sure sign that Jake G. is considered "on". Plus it gives the audience a chance to see such actors let their hair down and have fun. They also tend to host when they are promoting something, so I presume this coincides with the release of Zodiac. I sense that Heath L. will host when Batman comes out. It takes a lot of talent to do well on a live show; as much as I dislike Justin T-Lake, I have to say that his performance last week was pretty funny. I predict that Jake G. will do better, he seems like a natural funny dude.

I don't know them, but several people at Chez Tremblay say they're good. Apparently they did the "Garden State" soundtrack.

Just checked - they seem like a cool word-of-mouth group.

I have Garden State here somewhere - the one with the guy from Scrubs, right.

I'm sure Jake will be promoting the Zodiac thing, but there will surely be a Brokeback skit. I hope it makes a good point.

Good point, Leslie. I noticed that Steve Martin and Martin Short did cameos for Alec Baldwin's last hosting.

I can just imagine a BBM spoof: Jake's in the tent, his partner under a blanket and....Heath reveals himself! Or, make the spoof about "straight" cowboys (are there any of those left?) and have Michelle pop out of the tent.

As long as Jake shows some skin. ;)

I am secretly hoping that Heath makes a surprise appearance .. even for 1 teeny-tiny skit!

I don't watch SNL anymore, haven't done so forever .. it just got boring ..lol.. I can't even remember what channel it's on ..

You are not sad at all to be looking forward to Jake on SNL. Im not much of a tv watcher but you bet ill be in front of the set Saturday night at 11:30 channel 8 - NBC. I cant wait to see him smile, hear him talk, and look at that beautiful hair, body and of course those beautiful baby blues. Hey wont it be perfect if he shows some skin for us...

Ooo! Rember how Alec Baldwin used to do those skits where he was the gay Boy Scout leader?

How about a BBM style tent scene with Jake where Alec Baldwin steps out of the tent? He he he!

Crap. I do believe you're right. Well, I'll bet someone here has the technical skills to get it onto youtube. And if not, someone else out there definitely will get it there not long afterwards.

You're right. North Americans have the NTSC system for color transfer (dictionary says ink transfer?) on TVs, we Europeans have PAL. American videos don't play on our equipment.

All our hope has to be on youtube. Like back then, before the BBM DVD came out... :)
