The teams are:
Kynt & Vyxsin - Dating Goths
Marianna & Julia - Sisters
Nicolas & Donald - Grandson/Grandfather (HOW COOL IS THAT!?!)
Kate & Pat - Married Ministers
Rachel & TK - Dating for almost one year
Ari & Staella - Best Friends
Lorena & Jason - Dating
Azaria & Hendekea - Brother/Sister
Shana & Jennifer - Friends
Ronald & Christina - Father/Daughter
Jennifer & Nathan - Dating
oh and i voted for the grandad & grandson team cos its original but my other pre race faves are the goths & the Ministers
Yeah - I would be totally gutted to be out first - hey you might get a luxury almost 4 week holiday somewhere like Mexico, but STILL! It would be my nightmare
It is 7!!
I'm glad they lost. He was so rude and obnoxious.
Those poor donkeys. Some people were being really mean to them. I felt sorry for them. Didn't you? :'( :'(
oh and interestingly in the mat chat at cbs.com - nathan and jennifer were saying that they moved 10 ft in 3 hours with their donkey. I would be getting a little frustrated 3 hours later - perhaps they are overexageratting a little but still..... 3 hours! phew.
According to their mat chat - the donkey people were also saying to Ari & Stealla that perhaps the donkeys were stressed & thats why it refused to move - no kidding!
I'm glad they lost. He was so rude and obnoxious.

was watching the extras on Cbs. Rn is a bloody grump I have decided. They got 2 flats and was looking a gift hoirse in the mouth when Kate and Pat offered their tire.
Its in innertube relaity shows--> amazing race 12 --> webclips --> epsiode 1 --> a couple of flats for ron
heh. Ron - the dad of Christina.
ARGH!!!!!!!!
I got called away and MISSED who was eliminated tonight!!
DOUBLE ARGH!!!!
the oriental father was a complete JERK tonight. That girl has got so much patience! I would be choking him!
I did like it when he called Nicollas down for being rude to the airport lady!!
The Lesbian ministers lost tonight Jess. I was disappointed. I was hoping they would win this race; or at least stick around a little bit longer. I liked them.
Jess, are you putting the x's up there to remind us who has been eliminated? If so, do you think you could place some x's next to Kate and Pat's names since they are no longer in the race as of last Sunday? :)
Don said he stripped off all the way! (or at least he hinted that he did)
please no!! I think it was just to those sext underpants!! Nic was funny his face was like OMG look at my grandpa!?!
Marianna and Julia - dont give away trade secrets when you're second to last!
If you were near the front of the pack then fair enough but being nice cost you the race. Just say good luck and get moving!
Oh and is roy's hernai Karma?! But I do admit he was much much better this week.
Hi Meryl!
I thought of that, but the problem is that "Desperate Housewives" comes on right after it on a different channel.
Hi Meryl!
I thought of that, but the problem is that "Desperate Housewives" comes on right after it on a different channel.
You know more than I do Kelda!
I don't think Desperate Housewives was on this week. I watch it too.
Jess. did you see it this weekend?
:-*
I thought one of the benefits of a reality show were no actors or writers?
I don't think that I have been so excited to see The Amazing Race on TV since Season 8. I really thought that it would be canceled, and that I would miss out on all of the fun I have doing this column, and going to the TARflies lunch. Thank you, CBS.
Pre-show, my favorite team is the Goth girls. They both look so weird, but yet so cool at the same time.
I can't believe Christina thinks that her Dad doesn't have much time left and he isn't even 60. Don't Asians live a really long time, to like, 90 or something?
WAIT!!!!! I thought that Kynt and Vyxsin were both gay Goth girls. Well, I still like them, even if Kynt has to be a boy.
The goofy grandpa/grandson team looks like they will be fun to watch, too. I was hoping that the grandpa was going to push the grandson in the water, though, when they were joking around. That would have been really funny.
Nathan and Jennifer - BORING!!!! They always have a dating couple trying to solve their problems on the race. It is so boring already, and they have only been on my TV for a few seconds.
Azaria and Hendekea look like they are going to fight a lot. I can just tell. My brother and I would kill each other if we ever raced together by ourselves.
Lorena and Jason are another boring couple.
Kate and Pat are married ministers? Oh, my God!!!! It is so freaky weird that ministers can get married, and then be ladies, too. This couple scares me. That's like my Grandma Judy getting married to my Grandma Sandy.
Ari sounds like a girl. I really hope that he is the first one out. Staella can stick around, though. This guy tells us that he is a b&*ch and proud of it. Please, electro-shock hair guy, get off my TV already.
Shana and Jennifer want to use their beauty to win. I think that they are right up there with the boring dating couples in the teams that I want out, first.
TK and Rachel look like they might be okay. Plus, I really like hippies.
I like how the grandson went really slowly getting out of the driveway. If I were another team, though, I would have just driven through the bushes or over the big lawn to get out and away from the castle.
Where are the Goth people???? I don't care about the other stupid dating couples making the first flight. Phil, show me some Goth already!!!
It is a good idea to make alliances early on in the race, because it is important to have as many friends as possible later on. I really like that the brother and sister are working with the father and daughter.
That wasn't nice when the electro-shock hair took the other team's taxi. They should really give penalties for stuff like that.
Jennifer needs to stop complaining about Nathan and just start running. If these guys can't even spend a few days together without fighting, how are they going to spend the rest of their lives together?
The Goths handled their chain breaking on their bike so well. They didn't throw it on the ground and start crying like some of the other teams might have. They just picked it up and kept going. More love for the Goths.
Why don't the teams just count out 15 blocks before they put them in the basket? Now, watch one of the teams get sent back because they don't have enough blocks.
I bet that donkey could tell Ari was a meanie. If I were that donkey, I would have kicked him into the water for telling me that he was going to eat me.
Those donkeys look pretty small. If I were Nathan, I would have just picked mine up and started carrying it.
The Dad was funny when he said, "Not so bad for an old fart." Too bad his daughter thinks that his time is almost up, and she needs to spend as much time with him now as possible. My Mom was actually crying after the Dad said he was doing it for his daughter.
I'm so happy that my favorite team came in second place, even if Kynt ended up being a boy.
"In your face", spikey head boy. Maybe you should have been a little nicer to your donkey. Not that I really want to see any team eliminated, but if someone had to go, I'm glad that it was him.
Goths!! No one comes close to being as awesome as the Goths, and the second episode hasn't even started yet.
When the Goths were wearing their matching star shirts at the pit stop, they looked like Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Doctor Seuss. All they needed was the blue hair.
The blondes said, "We haven't had a manicure and facial yet," like they are waiting for it to happen on the race. Maybe they are just hoping for a beauty parlor roadblock.
I don't even remember there being sisters on the race. Did they just join because I really don't remember them from last week?
Jennifer said, "It's all in like Donkey Kong." So, are you Princess Peach or Pauline in this little Mario World of yours?
Why does the ticket lady still keep saying that she has two less seats each time a team asks her how many she has? If she only started with 12, shouldn't only three teams have made it on the flight since they really need 4 tickets per team?
I don't think it was right for Ronald to make a big deal out of Nick being rude to the ticket lady when it wasn't his business. He must have gotten bored picking on his own child and thought he would go after Donald's.
That was really smart of Azaria and Hendekea to just get their tickets on the train. It might cost them more money, but I bet it will be worth it.
I would do the Hoist It detour because it is right there, and the bike thing could take hours. Plus, if it is too hard, you can switch to the bikes without wasting too much time.
I wonder who had to put all of those stickers on the bikes. That had to be one boring job. It would have been funny if some person stole a bike and rode away with one of those stickers on it.
I can't believe that the little blonde, Shana, hoisted up that big clock like that. She is amazing because the clock was way bigger than she is. She may be small, but she is STRONG!!!!!!
The episode is almost over, and the second plane hasn't even landed. Maybe Phil can just go ahead and eliminate all three teams on that plane so that we don't have to worry about any more eliminations for the next few weeks.
TK and Rachel are having so much trouble hoisting stuff. They should just switch like Donkey Kong and Princess Peach did. Maybe Rachel knows how to do knots, too.
I would want to do this roadblock because I think I would be good at it. I am small, and I don't weigh much, so the pole wouldn't sink far into the mud and get stuck.
Shana did a great job at the roadblock, and even ended up with the mud facial she was looking for.
That Jennifer girl is really rude, spitting at cars and cursing at other people. I wish that one of those cars would push her right off of the road.
Why isn't Phil showing us a picture of that three wheel sport bike that Lorena and Jason just won? It sounds really nice. I will have to find out what that thing looks like when the show is over.
"Boogers in your bowl." What does that mean? Like the boogers that come out of your nose, in a bowl???
I have been waiting all week for the Grandpa to do this roadblock. It's a good thing that the previews didn't show him doing it in his underpants.
The father and daughter fighting is so boring. I already want this episode to end so that I don't have to listen to the Dad anymore. I could not imagine having a father like that. Even on my Dad's worst day, he is way better than that.
I'm not really sad to see the minister ladies go because they were soooooo boring, and they were also very slow. I do hope that they have fun in sequester because they seem nice.

Carissa Explains It All - Episode 3
By Carissa Gaghan (11.27.2007)
I’m sorry about how late this is, but I kept having stuff to do. I hope that you can find love deep in your hearts to forgive me.
My three favorite teams going into this episode are the Goths, Goths and more Goths!
That is funny how no one can pronounce the place they have to go to. I tried at least three times, and each time it sounded more like I was doing baby talk. I wonder how many times it took Phil to get it right.
I'm glad that Ronald finally realized that he was being mean to his daughter. I just hope that it is not too late because I really want to like this team.
I have a lot of credit to give to Ronald for running across that really big airport with an even bigger hernia. Christina was probably really proud of her Dad for not giving up, even when he was in such pain.
Why are the racers all so stressed on this flight to Paris? What's the big deal about all of the teams except for Nat and Jen being on it? They must know by now that by the next scene, they will all be equal again.
That wasn't nice for Jennifer to say that they were going to be sold to people for money. Just because they are in Africa doesn't mean that someone wants them for slaves.
I wonder what Grandma thinks about all of Donald's flirting. No doubt he will be sleeping on the couch after this episode.
Even though the blondes said that they were going to flirt their way ahead on the race, I think that Donald is way better at it than they are. Too bad Donald didn't include this ability in his intro, because I would have laughed so hard if he had said that.
The blondes were so rude on the train that I have moved them down from my fifth favorite team to my most hated team.
When you look at how these people live in this area, it really makes me appreciate what I have here in America.
My Mom won't let my brother's goats have babies. If she did, I could have fun milking them all the time.I would love to do this roadblock because I have always wanted to milk an animal and feel what an udder is like.
The baby camels trying to sneak a drink from their moms during this roadblock, remind me of one of my favorite movies "The Story of the Weeping Camel". It is a really good movie if you want to see it.
When will the racers realize that you need to be as calm as possible when working with animals? Don't any of them watch the Dog Whisperer?
Christina doing this roadblock would have made a great "Got Milk" commercial since she had the biggest milk mustache ever.
Even though I kind of felt bad for Lorena, I couldn't help but laugh over her crying over spilt milk. If she didn't spill so much, she could be with her friends going in the wrong direction.
I would do teach it because learn it would be way too hard for me. I even had to switch from Spanish to French because I stink at languages.
The brother and sister had a great idea just learning five words each. I bet that they were able to finish twice as fast as the others.
These two school detours have to be two of the best options that they have ever had. They both seem so equal, which I really like.
This guy must be crazy. He runs with a hernia, but is worried that he might get a little wet from the rain. What is Ronald doing stopping to put on his jacket on the way to the Pit stop? This guy must be crazy. He runs with a hernia, but is worried that he might get a little wet from the rain.
Waiting to see who is going to come in last is way too tense for me. I don't think that there is anyway I can re-watch tonight's show after this.
Look, the Pitstop lady has a baby! That baby has to be the youngest greeter ever. Now I know why Phil had the umbrella out. It wasn't because he was worried about his hair do; he was trying to protect the baby. Phil is so cool.
YAAAAA!
I actually got to se a complete episode!
I'm glad those two girls got eliminated. They were getting on my nerves.
Speaking of nerves, I love how Christina says :"I love you Daddy" everytime he gets on her nerves! ROFLOL!

definitely - when we have a bad day at work we should really try to put things in perspective - at least we can go to a warm place and eat some comfort food like icecream while complaining about our shitty day.... :P
Wow you are not kidding Kelda!
I was able to see Sundays complete episode, at work! I had to stay 2 hours over but I took my charts into the day room and charted while watching AR! I thought it was a good episode but then I think they all are. Bye to the blondes!
I keep wishing Don and Nick would get eliminated. Nick and his nasty rude ass! He's rude to everyone and I don't like him.
They almost were eliminated tonight. Maybe it will happen next week. Dubrovnik looks like a very beautiful city.
ARG! It happened again. The show started 20 minutes late so my recorder missed the end. >:(
Who was eliminated? Who came in first?
Ronald & Christina came in first (won a catamaran ::) )
and Azarta and Hendekea were eliminated... :-\ (they were my pick to win!)
They were actually mine to.
well if it weren't for that one mistake with the airline they would still be in it. I wonder if they had gone ahead and used the business class what the penalty would have been?
Re the business class stuff. This is what Zach told us when we interviewed him quite awhile ago:QuoteHere is the deal. You can buy whatever kind of tickets you want – first class, business class, economy, refundable, non-refundable, it makes no difference. You may only FLY with economy tickets though. If you are given business class seats or upgraded for free, you can fly that way too. You can also buy as many tickets as you want, within reason. Eventually, we were told, our credit cards would max out. You can change your tickets as many times as you want before boarding a flight.
That being said, the rules could have changed since then and I still think Zach and Flo's actions caused some controversy (disgruntlement among fellow racers) that season. (But that could just be the crack talking.)
well the Nicolaus and Donald won the race tonight...got a five night stay in Cancun. (Dad got a TATTOO to win the fast forward)
Kent and Vyxin came in LAST.... :-\
but they didn't get eliminated! It was a non elimination round. Definitely a nail biter episode. I didn't want either of the two bottom couples to go (the other couple was TX & Rachel)
Thanks for the update!
As usual, the show was delayed again so I missed the ending. :-\
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Yes I agree, but they did good and that is what matters, right?
Thanks for the update. The show was delayed as usual and I missed the second half! ARRG!
So next week I have my recorder set to grab the following hour too. I had to reset it not to record Desparate Housewives. :(
Oh the Tornado? LOL. Yeah, that was kinda cheesey. But I'll keep watching it. ;D
THIS Sunday? :o
There is the dilemma. If I record Desparate Housewives, then I'll miss the ending of The Amazing Race if it run late! ARGGG! >:(
If it is ok with everyone I am going to reset the poll for the remaining teams....now that we see how they are doing and half our choices have been eliminated!
Hello All I"m Rick,
This is my first post and really don't know what the heck I'm doing here, but "i am a huge fan of the Amazing Race" probably the best show on tv for so many reasons. First of all for the educational info, the culture, the people, the geography and history. Then for the shear beauty of the land, even when they went to Vietnam I was shocked at how beautiful it was, I would have expected rice patties, and thatched roof hurs etc. Of course the couples are interesting, even Boton Rob and Amber, who left their injured competitors behind when their safari jeep went off the road, and crashed. I'm not good with names, but the blond girl and the good looking guy who argue all the time will probably win this season, they are firerce competitors. The guy with the long hair and his cute girlfriend will finish second. You would think that if I was such a huge fan I would probably know everyone's name LOL. Would love to hear from other huge fans, and straighten me out on their names!
.................oh, so who dies in the new episode of Desparate Housewives? It was pretty obvious that the Mayor does. Plus that crazy stalker lady. Who was the third victom? The neighbor lady? Her cat? Carlos?
Damn it to hell. I forgot to watch it last night. I was busy watching the I Love New York reunion.
Who lost this week?
TK and Rachel came in last but it was a non-elimination round. They screwed up a flight so now they are 3 hours behind everyone else and will have to deal with a Speed Bump. :(
Psycho-Daddy and his daughter came in first and each won an "electric vehicle". Nate & Jen came in second, they weren't too bad this week.

My two favorite places were the Victorian Falls (on the very first one) and the little huts in Tunsania?? where Star Wars was filmed!!
I loved when Nate and Jen said that they didn't know anything about Taiwan but that they did like Thai food (!) I was on the floor! I guess I'll miss them for their entertainment value.

That road block WAS confusing... and no pen and paper allowed either. bah
I know! After explaining it, when Phil said "It may sound easy, but.." my friend and I looked at each other and said Whaa?! We didn't even understand the instructions, !
I'd love to grab TK, give him a short haircut and a shave. Then strip him, bath him, burn those baggy clothes and put him into something more form fitting. I'm thinking there might be a hottie under there.
Congrats to TK and Rachel. I was rooting for Ron and Christina though. Not that Don and Nick were much less deserving.

I thought this was an interesting race in that none of the young, physically fit type of couples made it to the end. TK and Rachel were the fittest of the final three, but they were by no means athletic types. I really have to give Ron and Don credit for tenacity and stamina. Those challenges are not easy!
I would have been okay with any of the final three winning. I did feel sorry for Ron and Christina, especially Christina, since she probably beat herself up a lot for not getting through the last challenge faster. Nick and Don were fortunate to be in third, I think, what with Don's age and Nick not being the sharpest knife in the drawer. In the end, I was glad not to be hating one couple and going "Aargh!" if they won. ;D
Poor fish. Poor crabs. :(
But anyway, this was a good season. I'm thrilled TK and Rachel won. I would have been happy for Ron and Christina to win too though so Christina could have got the money. They seemed genuinely happy at the end of the race though. They seemed happy with their relationship. I hope Ron continues to be easier on his daughter.
Nick and Don showed they were disappointed. Can't blame them though. For 68, 69 Don really was incredible. I hope I have his stamina.
Jess, Kelda may know but I really believe they get nothing. I would be nice if 2nd and 3rd got something after all that.
Just a guess here, but they could have made a small slit in the fish just big enough to push the capsule through, they would not have had to cut the fish open much. They could have jammed the capsule farther into the fish with a stick. Then they could have sewed the fish back shut with some thread that matched the fishes color (or transparent fishing line.) With that size of fish, it would likely go unnoticed given the stress of the situation.
Second idea that just came to me: Feed the fish the capsule while still alive. Wait a day or so, whack the fish. Now it's not in the stomach where it can easily be pulled out.
Girls who fight and make up and fioght and make up and tease each other relentlessly (Jess & me)
HELLO!!
they LOVE people that fight...and I can drool over Phil with the best of them!!
PLUS I get car sick!! think of the drama!! Will Kelda pull over fast enough????? stay tuned!!
;D    ;D
And you'd also be good at all the animal tasks...
Somebody posted this on Tarflies - its a board which Nic posts on (his dads site actually) and he gave a lot of intersting info about the teams - and the money - him and Don got $10K each. So those numbers Aaron gave are per person.

Jess - you can eat all the funky foods too...
I'll watch you guys on TV. LOL
I love the show, but I couldn't do some of the tasks / challenges. Especially when they repell down the side of a skyscraper! YIKES! or bungee jump off a tall building. or swim to find a clue underwater. fohgettahboutit !
I enjoy travelling, but not at that frantic pace!

I bet they’ve won
No, we have not.
Hey Nick, did you bang that Asian chick when her Dad wasn't looking?
Actually, we began making love in the Irish countryside and she started moaning “Give it to me Daddy,” was too creepy and I had to stop. No, didn’t “bang” the Asian chick—actually don’t think much of her repeatedly stating how smart she was. And for reference, she is now “banging” Azaria.
is the prize all or nothing, or is there some kind of first runner up prize too? (from the visually pleasing auntie….do you have facebook auntie?)
There are prizes for all places ranging from $1500 p/person for last place (plus a $500 stipend during sequester) to $25,000 p/person for second place. My grandfather and I were rewarded $10,000 each for our efforts.
Do they have reunion shows for this program?
They had in past seasons, but not this time around. I was disappointed. I went out to LA a couple weeks ago to visit TK/Rachel and Nate/Jen. Had a great time. Nate/Jen come off horribly on TV—Nate is a great guy, and while Jen might be a bitch, she is a bitch in a great way, and I love it. TK/Rachel are fantastic people.
Are you going to have anything added to it or leave it as it is?
I am going to leave it as is. I love it. I wake up every morning and laugh when I look in the mirror. It is a reminder of an amazing experience, and it will be a great story to tell in 40 years: My grandfather and I were on a race around the world, and we had to get these tattoos in Italy for first place.
What I want to know is why a fine, strapping young gent such as Nick makes Grandpa do all the hard work. I think the really burning question here is: does Don have a wife?
First of all, Don agreed to do a show in which he was well-aware that there would be physically demanding tasks so there is no need to feel sorry for him. Also, we had to split the roadblocks between us, so we attempted to have Don do everything he thought he could do. This didn’t work out so well a few times. The first roadblock in Ireland was easy—riding a bike across a ravine. He should have done it, but all we knew was “Who wants to pedal for their partner.” Don was tired, and we thought it might involve and extensive amount of biking. In Holland we had the advantage of watching other teams attempt the challenge before picking who would do it. Don said he could do it, and I thought it was a bad idea. I tried to have him watch a couple other people do it to convince him otherwise, but it didn’t work. I thought that since we had a sizable lead over the other teams I would avoid the asshole move of overriding the old man’s decision. He now says his decision wasn’t smart. And finally, the Croatia roadblock stated: “Who has a builder’s eye?” From that information there was no way we could have known there would be so much lifting. I always tried to do anything in my power to spare my grandfather of any unneeded physical activity so he could preserve his energy. And as for your second question, sorry PrismBallz, there is a Ms.Don…..and I don’t think you will be PrismFulks anytime soon either.
Hey Nick, exactly how much editing of the contestant's personalities goes on with that show?
I was very afraid of how the reality gods would make me out to be before going on the show. They manipulated quite a bit: taking things people said from one country and using it 2 weeks later, the motive of Ron yelling at me, editing out mistakes on their own part, etc. However, with few exceptions people came off exactly as they were. Those exceptions were:
-Creating some kind of breakthrough for Ron, that relationship is utterly flawed, and Ron’s breakthrough was made for TV
-While Nate/Jen constantly fought with each other (and they do in real life too), they were very fun/outgoing toward everyone else, and that wasn’t shown at all. To be fair, the show didn’t show much of teams interacting at all, but this made a big difference in the overall perception of these two
-The sisters were horrible to be around. They were constantly lying, extremely unpleasant, and made friends with no one except their Spanish speaking “sister” Lorena. Everyone hated them, and it made me frustrated that my grandfather continued to talk to them. Similarly it frustrates me that he continues his friendship with Ron even after the race. I guess in that case it a bit more excusable because they are two old guys that succeeded at the same amazing experience.
-Kent (Kynt) was a goof. He was completely fake, I wondered if he was a person at all. He wouldn’t talk to you, but the camera behind you. Always a show about how he is so different, how he likes different music, dresses differently….ugh. As far as the race, he was very manipulative trying to strike deals with all other teams (With me/Don not U-turning him/Vyxin, with Ron/Chris getting help in the Asian countries, etc.) He also went on morality rants over how they were playing a clean race, judging other teams….shut up, no one cares. Vyxen was cute/adorable, although I am not a big fan of the whole pink show.
Hey, do you guys get fan mail?
No, but I have seen the artwork you have sent my father.
What was the most frustrating part of the race? What didn't they show that makes for good gossip?
There were many frustrating parts of the race, a few stick out in my mind:
We had slept three hours in four days when we were in Italy. I was driving in Italy all night, and for the most part the crew and my grandfather were sleeping. I have never been so tired in my life, and at one point we reached a point where the highway closed. I tried to navigate my way past the highway closure through the streets of Bologna at 3am. I have never been so frustrated in my life. It was amazing how most of the time you were so stressed out that anything going wrong caused an infinite level of exasperation that you just want to scream or strangle someone.
After we went to the hotel in Japan, we thought that we had made the final three and that TK/Rachel were eliminated. The next morning my grandfather and I were talking with Nate/Jen in the hallway of the hotel and TK came out of his room and came over to talk to us. When I realized he wasn’t eliminated I was devastated. I loved TK/Rachel, but at that point I wanted them gone so we had a 1/3 shot at a million.
Many things that weren’t shown on TV, but one recurring theme that was always omitted was our sleeping conditions. I think they did this so people wouldn’t be discouraged from applying to future seasons. We slept in tents on a hill in Ireland, on bare cement on the streets of Burkina Faso, and in a bug infested ATM store in India. I think this was done to cause fatigue and make us more exasperated when we were attempting the challenges.
Question Nick, did you ever finish the puzzle or did they just tell you to go ahead and move toward the finish line?
Yes. I didn’t even realize this was a question until my roommate asked me after the show. I don’t know why they didn’t show me finishing, and I was disappointed that was edited out.
1. when did the amazing race start, and when did it end?
2. what were the hotels like?
3. what was the team you liked best on the amazing race besides your own team?
4. what is your opinion of country music?
-The race started July8 and ended July30.
-I previously mentioned that some of the places you slept were pretty rough: streets, camping, etc. When they decided to treat you nice the hotels were very nice. The hotel in Croatia had an unbelievable view right on the ocean next to the rapidly rising hills of the coast. The hotel in India had an unreal ballroom for dinner that was the size of a football field with every kind of food you could imagine, and one waiter per two or three people that were serving to your every need.
-I liked TK/Rachel. It was great that they could be so much fun even though we were competing at the end. They were always funny/easy going with us and each other. I am so happy they made it to the end with us because it made the trip much more enjoyable.
-Country is not pretty. Like most music, I have a similar taste as my father, just a bit more restricted probably due to knowing less. I enjoy classic country like Buck Owens, maybe because it reminds me of spending weekends with my dad as a little kid. More noteworthy, I love Shania, like Mr.Fulks
Did Nick and Don win any trips?
We won a five night trip to Cancun for our first place finish in Italy.
Loved reading Nick's posts! I so glad TK and Rachel are as nice as they seemed. It's really too bad about Ron remaining a horrible jerk, but not surprising. An a-hole his age can't change that fast, if at all. Interesting about how everyone hated the sisters.
Reality TV World: There's been reports that Staella, TK, Rachel, and Nathan all went to the same high school in Fountain Valley, CA. Did you hear anything about that during the race?
Kate: Yeah, it was on the race.
Reality TV World: Okay, so you were aware about that during the race?
Pat: Yeah, somewhere along the line I think.
Kate: What a surprise though, huh? What a weird coincidence?
Reality TV World: Yeah, that is a weird coincidence.
Kate: Yeah, it was surprising. We kind of were worried that they might have a little alliance because of that, but I don't think they did.
I wonder if a Celebrity Amazing Race would be popular?
If so, who could some of the teams be?
Should we have some fun and pair some favs up?
OMG! Donald Trump and Marth Stewart? That would be hilarious!
Can't you see Donald trying to repel down the side of a cliff with the wind blowing his hair?
Martha being told the next road block is mud wrestling?
Then of course at the Pit Stop...... as Donald and Martha step on the mat, his suite torn and dirty, her face and clothes muddy.
Phil stands there and says: "Donald and Martha, you are the last team to arrive. You're Fired" as he does the Trump hand gesture. LOL.
Hmm... what celeb teams....
How about Rosie ODonnell with Trump!?!
or Rosie with that Elizabeth girl from the View...
Teams?
1) Bill Clinton and Ann Coulter.
........On a crowded train in India......
Ann: "Oh my God! Some one has their dirty hand on my rear!"
Bill: "Oh sorry, was that wrong?"
I don't know who Ann Coulter is but
*wikis ann coulter*
The great thing about the LA airport is that you never know who or what you'll see. Last time we were there, we saw Maurice Jones-Drew. This time, as we were waiting for the team to get checked in at the airport, we got a glimpse of what appeared to be some competitors on The Amazing Race. I saw a camera crew shooting two blondes wearing hot pink sweatsuits as they quickly walked outside the terminal. Hmmm, don't think we've ever seen THAT kind of team before on the show (says she with heavy sarcasm). A few minutes later, we caught a glimpse of two more pairs. They didn't seem to be rushing too much, so I'm thinking they aren't going to last very long on this show.
Apparently some lucky twosome will win £1million today or tomorrow... my sources say that season 13 draws to a close imminently! I even know what city! It begins with a P!
Also in good news it looks like we will have 2 seasons this year - it looks like they are going to confirm - tomorrow - that this year will see 2 seasons of TAR - instead of just one - YAY!!

Great site!!! Thanks for posting it Kelda :) I guess since Amazing Race and Survivor will not be back until the Fall I will just have to watch Big Brother. I actually got into watching it this past season although I have never been that wild about it. I may even have to check out The Mole. It seems I really like these types of reality shows. I have even been watching The Biggest Loser this past year. It really is quite amazing how these people transform themselves. And of course people get eliminated on it too :) and that adds a bit of suspense and intrique.

'Amazing Race' honcho teases new season

With the season 13 debut of CBS’ The Amazing Race looming just around the corner (okay, Sept. 28), exec producer Bertram Van Munster slipped us a few clues about the upcoming globetrot.
• The race takes 23 days, covers nearly 40,000 miles, spans five continents, and features some far-flung locales never before seen on the show, including Angkor Wat, Cambodia and La Paz, Bolivia.
• The youngest team is a tandem of two guys in their early 20s. “They’re made for television,” Van Munster says. “They’re supersmart — and they make terrible mistakes.” A pair of recent divorcees in their late 20s also vie for the million-dollar prize. “They were left with some financial debt, so they really have a motive to run around the world,” he says. And once again, expect a serving of granola — this time with a husband-wife squad of 60-something Oregon hippies. “They’re the real thing,” says Van Munster. “They come right out of the '60s. To a lot of people, it looks almost like they’re from a different planet.”
• As for the challenges, “We’ve really outdone ourselves in the department of outrageousness,” Van Munster declares. “We have a situation in Bolivia where we have the [contestants] go down a cobblestone hill on very, very primitive bikes, and it’s just the most hilarious thing you’ve ever seen in your life. It’s a truly bone-jarring experience.” (Another must-see detour: A by-train-or-by-bus scavenger hunt in Moscow. )
• One familiar thing actually did happen on this race: The producers didn’t predict the winner. Says Van Munster, “We’ve been wrong every time, across the board.”
I can't wait for The Amazing Race.......my favorite show on TV. I still would love to be on it ;)
DANG! where did you find info? I tried the CBS site!
Jack, where have you been? I've missed you around here!!
Well - we now know our TAR 13 teams!
The CBS Site is up....

Video of them are here - http://cbsmediagroupftp.com/clips06/race13_epk_stream.wmv
There is:
Terance and Sarah dating for almost a year
Andrew & Dan - fraternity brothers (one looks the spit of Seth Rogan)
Kelly & Christy - Best Friends
Aja & Ty - dating long distance
Mark & Bill - comic book geeks
Anita & Arthur - real hippies - married and young at heart
Marissa & Brooke - best friends
Ken & Tina - seperated couple
Toni & Dallas - Mum & son (and the son is HOT!)
Anthony & Stephanie - hope to get engaged at the end of the race
Nick & Starr - Brother & Sister
oh I am....I am gonna change the poll here in a bit (ok probably tomorrow)
I am not 'feeling' anyone yet....
You are not the only one reading this thread, I can't wait for the show to start!
I'm going to say Ken & Tina as first out, but that means nothing since I haven't even watched their video.
I always feel SOO bad for the first one out...it is always the most earnest, likable couple...the ones you hate NEVER lose first! they hang around like warts!

I missed it. Damn it! >:(
What happened tonight? Did anyone watch it? God, I can't believe I forgot to watch it. :P
- Dallas should NOT be allowed to wear shirts!
I think I noticed Dallas's arms.....
;D ;D
I found myself pulling for the Geeks in the first episode--they were definitely out of their comfort zone. ;D
And I, too, was relieved to see the ancient folk still living in the distant past retire to contemplate it from their flower and incense filled haven in Hippieland. ;)
Okay its not really.
I love the geeks.
The roadblock was hard.
I love that Nick didn't stressed and told of Starr nicely.
The Divorcess need to READ THEIR CLUES! But they're fun...
Blondes will go next??
And Phil's video diary for episode 2 is hilarious!!!!! - view it on cbs.com or on youtube shortly!
I loved the geeks even more this week. I was SO BUMMED when Ken and Tina edged them out. >:(
The divorcees are not the brightest bulbs, despite their protests to the contrary. ::)
Blondes next? Maybe. They certainly aren't as competitive as other blonde pairings in previous races.
Plus she kept going on to everyone about how she apparently got the airline to switch to a bigger plane. (They probably would have switched anyway after seeing the bunch of crazy Americanse begging for tickets, lol!)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
The fan faves are out...
>:( :'(
Mark and Bill rocked....
Hilarious roadblock - I would have done the band detour and I love dhiw happy the blondes were not to be second to last!!
(DId you see this episode David!?!)
http://www.veoh.com/videos/v162525537ZRWN9Gm?rank=0&order=
another great video diary from Phil - and his Dad!!!! (who will be the pitstop greeter in episode 4!)
That was very sweet! Thanks Kelda!
NSFW
Have you heard of the controversy about that nude pic of Dallas that was on the web just recently? Well, here it is, uncensored. No wonder he seems so self-assured and content, lol! :o

:o :o
come on ya'll; you know you all looked!

But the real question is, did YOU? ;)
I am too young to look at that stuff...
Stop dancing! >:(
You didn't answer the question! Everybody has a naughty side! You looked. I KNOW you did! ;D
That tallywacker of his is probably considered a lethal weapon in certain countries. I hope he doesn't experience problems going through customs. It's not like he could surrender it to the customs officer. :P
It looked like a fake pic to me? No?
I want to be a Customs Officer!
(Tallywacker?!)
Tape or tivo one?
Oh and yeah I've heard of Tallywhaker!!!
Can you believe this? My DVD recorder is broken and I don't have tivo! >:(
I need to figure it out quick because they both start in about 45 minutes. :P
I do now.. have you not seen the outcome of epiosode 3 and 4 yet?
How can you pst here without taking a snealy look at who went out!?!
(or at 'Dallas'!?!)
you need to get high speed! all the episodes of The Amazing Race are on Youtube!
One of the things that makes me really angry about this show is how rude and pushy some of the contestants are with the locals. >:(
They can really be mean can't they? They are especially rude to the taxi drivers. Downright hateful even. >:(
I voted for Aja and Ty but I think they are going to lose tonight. They are currently in last place. >:(
Everyone is noticing Dallas, but does anyone here think Nick is cute? I do. :D
Sad news today - Margaretta of Dave and Margaretta of Season 1 lost her battle with cancer this week.
:(
I've jusr watched the latest episode of the amazing Race Asia 3.
I tell you what, if you guys have access to torrent, you should have a look at TAR Asia. I've seen all three seasons now, and the second one I thought was tough, but this season is much tougher.
These guys are put through a LOT more strain than their US counterparts. They stuff a lot more stuff in each leg, the legs are gruelling.
its quite interesting becasue in TAR Asia there is a lot more nationalities. As its for the whole of Asia. So Japan, India, Thiland, Manilla, Hong Kong, Phillipeans etc etc are all represented.
weesh a triple posting by me ....But meh - I love TAR more than Brokeback I think!
Anyway... Dan-drew well they are such bumbling idiots that I actually love them.
I quite enjoyed Tina & Ken doing so badly for once. They've been doing too good. Its nice that you see each team in good and bad scenarios to see how they react.
And I don't want Starr & Nick to win. I dont hate them but I dont want them to win. Coll they prize they got a CAR each!? How good is that!?!
I hope they are in India next week as I want to see more things that will interst me for when I land in india.
At least I know what International arrivals looks like now tho!! But I dont think that while I'm in Delhi I'll need to go to Moon Motors in Delhi.
Interestingly, TAR Asia were also in India this week, but in Cochin - they washed hefalumps.. sooo cool!
Kelda! Am I caught up??You still need to see yesterday's episode, when so & so surprisingly come in last, then you'll be caught up.
I am up to where the young Black couple lost...
You still need to see yesterday's episode, when so & so surprisingly come in last, then you'll be caught up.
Thanks Kelda! That chile market must be wild! I never had to wear a surgeon's mask at the ones I visited in Mexico, lol!
I think Nick & Starr are going to win it. But, they also said in the preview for next week that they will run into some problems, so I don't really know. :-\
Could you believe that soup they were eating? What was it again? Lamb ass fat soup?
Who knows? Maybe it tasted good!
it did not LOOK like it tasted good...and they didn't act like they were enjoying it!
maybe it is better if we DON'T know what it was! :P
We know what it was don't we, fatty pig's ass meat? I'm sure that's what Phil said.
ewww! I didn't hear that...or I blotted it from my memory!
Well, he didn't use those words exactly so it didn't sound as bad, but it didn't sound too good either. :P The portions are always so big too.
And vegetarian or not , i knew Delicate-Flower-Terence wouldn't be able to eat it. I wrote on another forum that even though I'm vegetarian, for a million bucks I would chew the ass off a live pig !

ok here is a question though, I have heard that if you are a vegetarian that if you just suddenly start eating meat again, you get sick...is that true or could you (should you so choose ;D ) eat a big ol burger with no ill effects?
I would say that I am for Toni and Dallas although unlike many people on here I do like Nick and Starr. Right now, they are kind of at a tie with me and I would be fine with either couple winning. I am ok with Tina and Ken also although I would rather one of the other couples win. And like I say I do believe I want that to be Toni and Dalllas. Things have been going better for me on TAR than the other shows I like since last week my favorite couples did come in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. That has been happening a lot.
That soup reminded me of something that would have been at the BBQ  That is not meant to offend anyone who put the BBQ together, but there were things there that I would never have tasted otherwise. I made myself taste everything just so I could say I had. Let's see there were mountain oysters, alligator stew, frog legs, and some other assorted unusual things. But there was no lamb ass, thank God. The worse was the frog legs.......I basically put it in my mouth and that was it. However, I can only imagine if I had to eat a whole huge plate of any of those things
What a fun episode! I didn't know anyone - without a "condition" - could be so uncoordinated as Andrew is. It was a riot! I knew it would be a non-elim round so I wasn't too worried. It would have been nice if Nick ("You're sounding like a broken record, Phil") and Starr had arrived last just to put them in their place. That Dallas sure is hot, he'd be a total babe if he had a less ridiculous hairstyle. I liked that Russian woman at the bakery, she was a hoot! "He is not fit!".
Rocky Mountain oysters is a bit too exotic for me. They are bull balls, aren't they? Huh-uh :P Nope. I might try them, but I doubt I'd like it very much. Yuck. :P
maybe you are just getting to having a good eye for winners!

oh and just for fun here is dan again...
[youtube=425,350]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=H62VUclX6mI[/youtube]
Whats interesting is that all the other teams saying in the insider vids .... we love Dan & Andrew but they're so rubbish... Forebodeing do we think?!
How funny would it be if they won!!
Toni and Dallas :'( >:(
I so wanted them in the final three with Dandrew and Ken & Tina. I was holding out for another Nick forgets bag thing. I kep rewinding it to see i they had the bags every time.
I would have run after that taxi like my life depended on it.... drop the bag - who needs clothes for one more leg?
I have to say kudos to Dan & Andrew. They were doing a fairly good job at the dancing and even though they'r cab driver took them to the wrong park they made up a helluva lot of time. And their reaction at the pit stop was so funny!!!!
The insider clips thos week - Dallas and Toni's made me cry cos they were crying and Toni is an awesome mum!
and it was interesting to see a kip with andrew talking about the roadblock he got it wrong like 5 times!!! It makes out like he got it wrong only once so Dallas must ahve got it wrong LOADS of times!
It really is too bad about Dallas & Toni but I'm happy for the hapless frat boys. I kinda hope they win now, I'm a sucker for the underdog.
At the roadblock, did the one doing it have to carry all the money and bags? I missed something there. God knows I've lost bags myself but I would hang on to the one with ALL THE MONEY AND PASSSPORTS! What a disaster, I admire how they didn't end up in tears and/or in a fight. If it had happened in Canada the cab driver would have tracked them down to return the bag. (Not!)
I think I figured out why i dislike the Bobsey twins: Their ridiculously perfect teeth! They are so even and straight that they don't even look like individual teeth. And they are so bright white that they could guide Santa's sleigh tonight. Americans sure take care of their teeth, I'll give you guys that.
yeah Starr & Nick are too perfect for my liking too! i like the underdogs and i'd love to see Dandrew win now - plus they crack me up!! but i doubt it - did you notice the preview had them mostly coming off planes or in cabs? the other shots had the other 2 teams doing lots of action shots.. i'm thinking they mess up and get way behind. but then dan is meant to be a tourism graduate so who knows maybe they' got an amazing flight and are way ahead & its to confuse us!!!
Yeah it seemed to be that the person not doing the roadblock got taken immediately to the house but the one doing the roadblock had to get at least 2 taxis as they had to get one from the park and then to the flat or they might need more if they have to go back and forth to the park a lot - so theyd have needed the money most - all the other team mate would have needed it for is water or food while waiting for them.
Its funny though cos I frequent another forum specialising in TAR and they always kept saying - oh that toni is definitely in charge she always has the fanny pack - now it makes sense why she did!!
Whoa, those subways are amazing! :o
aww.. dont be nasty to Phil. He CAN do the chicken dance missy!!!
puullleeeze that was plumb sad!

Good episode I thought. At least they got to do stuff.
I know I never liked Nick & Starr but I did pick them to win from the first episode so I feel good about that.
Anyway, better them than Eyebrow Chick and the Quarterback.
Anyway, better them than Eyebrow Chick and the Quarterback.
I'm happy for Nick that they won. I'm not happy for Starr. I never did like her too much. She's awfully bossy and such a beeyotch. Nick seemed like a pretty nice guy. I was rooting for the frat guys a bit towards the end though. But it became obvious they weren't going to win tonight when they fell so far behind the others.
Actually I agree with you David. I really was never too wild about Starr, but I did like Nick. She is bossy and is a little well a lot full of herself. I did not find Nick to be that way. Actually, they are a bit like my sister and me. Anyway, I was glad to see them win. I do think they deserved it and I sure did not want to see Ken and Tina win. In fact I really do wish they would have come in last behind the frat boys. And where was Dallas and Toni at the ending ceremony??????????????????
They weren't there........I have no idea where they were........it seems like they would have said something about it. I don't understand.
KELDA will have the scoop!
*waiting patiently for Kelda, the Amazing Race expert, to show up*
Toni and Dallas didn't get their passports in time after losing them in Russia. (well I should say Dallas as Toni had hers on her) Dallas' passport was handed into the US embassay the next day so they were able to make the finale party with the cast about 12 hrs after Nick and Starr won (if it hadn't been handed in they wouldnt have got another passport for a few days) but weren't able to make it to the finish line in time.

Saw this AFTER i posted the explanation!!!
Did no one watch it last night? I surprised to see Mike White of CHUCK & BUCK fame and his father. Probably the first gay father and son team.
WHAT!!!??
The Amazing Race is back??!
HOLY CRAP! they had BETTER upload it to Youtube! Where is Kelda? she is supposed to let me know these things!!
It was pretty exciting, actually. They seem to have kicked it up a notch as far as the challenges go. The teams already had to Bungee-jump, and there was a very difficult race involving cheese that was quite hilarious. Two teams broke down in tears and it was just the first day, lol!
I just watched it - here's the 'bunny' version of ehat happened!
I quite like the airport scrambel to gt to know the teams so I kinda missed that - and they've updated the theme tune & grpahics and maps! I kinda lke it but kinda miss the old theme tune!
Yup, Mike and Mel are Son & Father and both are gay.
And Mike wrote School Of Rok which gives him a leg up in my favour os I love School of Rock! Also one of his best friends, who is a huge TAR fan and got all excited when she found out he was on it.... is our Jake's girlf, Reece Wetherspoon!
YAY!!! I'm watching it! They are in Switzerland doing that bungee jump. God that looks scary. I don't know if I could do it. Probably. But I could see myself changing my mind once I got up there.
I'm changing my vote though. I hope Margie and Luke win. I almost voted for Jennifer and Preston because Preston is really cute. But I have a soft spot for Margie and Luke. So that's who I'm cheering for. :)
The thing I hated though that she was so grateful for him - and went on about it for hours - not shouting at her when she eventually got back after the roadblock I mean - why should he!?!
I hope thre is some sound of music tasks next week I mean they are in Salzberg!
But she was basically begging - that cant be a healthy relationship!
You always need the underdog in TAR though, don't you!?!
Well, she had no sense of direction, no sense of observation, and she couldn't run! ;) She really shouldn't have been a contestant at all.
well I voted for Luke...and David voted for Luke....
so SOMEBODY around here hasn't voted!! cause there are only TWO votes!
>:( >:( >:(
So is Mike and Mel the name of the gay team? I'll root for them! :D
Also, I've just noticed just how ridiculously goodlooking Kris is. And he doesn't seem too smart. In other words, he's perfect! :laugh:Yep...good adjectives to describe him.
Are you all aware that there is (at least) one other openly gay contestant? Guess who?
OK. In an article dated 28 January 2009 at www.realityblurred.com (http://www.realityblurred.com), it mentions that the show’s first-ever deaf contestant, Luke Adams, is also gay, according to his Facebook profile. If you go to the website and click on "Amazing Race 14", it's easy to find. There are other TAR 14 articles there as well.
Well I haven't voted yet. Last time I voted and picked the winners after the first episode but this time I can't make up my mind. I'll probably go with Luke and his mom, they seem to work well together. Victor and Tammy made such a big mistake that I lost confidence in them.
I didn't even remember Brad & Victoria, so I guess I won't miss them, lol!
Also, I've just noticed just how ridiculously goodlooking Kris is. And he doesn't seem too smart. In other words, he's perfect!
I can't think who else is gay, there is certainly no direct mention on the website about it.
Maybe one of the sisters?
Oh and can i just say IVE BEEN THERE!!!!!!
I got so excited! Did you notice that the teams didn't start out exactly where they had the pit stop?
Instead they were standing front of a glass gazebo?
Well its THIS gazebo!

And I have stood in exactly this spot and had my photo taken there...
Its currently in a picture frame in my dining room - I only have it in non digtal but I took a pic of the pic - not great but you can make me and the gazeebo and my best friend Laura out.
THis was in 2002, just after we graduated and we did a 5 week Euro trip and di the Sound of Music Tour in Salzberg - it was AMAZING!!! We led the singing the whole way!
You can't actually get into the Gazeebo, uur tour guide told us - and he swore it as the truth - because someone old woman tried to recreate the jumping from bench to bench and slipped and broke her back! :o ::)
That is very intersesting about Luke. I kind of suspected him as well but I wasn't sure because he never really talks. I have a great affinity for deaf people. Several of my real life friends are deaf and one of my childhood friends was deaf too. Scott, my childhood friend taught me some sign language and I remember what he taught me to this day. I'd love to become more fluent in it though. My deaf friends said they would teach some more to me, but so far we haven't had any lessons.
I STILL think Victor is gay. I really do. He blipped my gaydar so hard it popped a spring.
you sure that was your gaydar and not something else??
;D :-X :-X
Also, I've just noticed just how ridiculously goodlooking Kris is. And he doesn't seem too smart. In other words, he's perfect!
Do they get to continue travelling around the world with the rest of the team Jess? I didn't know that. But yeah I agree with you there. I'd certainly miss the million dollars (ain't no doubt!) but a free trip around the world would be a very nice consolation prize!
[youtube=425,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20bKIgd0hOo&feature=related[/youtube]hahah - I love Phil - he seems to just be really real.. No matter in little expcerts like this or on ths how hes just the same! He must have so many interesting stories.
wow!! I thought the pit stops were so choreographed and all...
I would just go ahead and lose the first round so I could have a stress free trip around the world!
well now that I watched some more, I guess they don't..they all go to a particular location and stay there til the race is over. This time it is in Thailand and they get to go do different activities...
that sounds good to me too!!

There has actually been a few instances where teams have somehow managed to get a flight to the next destaintion BEFORE Phil. It happens very very rarely but olin and Christie managed it n season 5 and I think Charla and Mirna managed to do that in All Stars too.
There has also been occasions where teams have been on the same flight as Phil too.
I'm still watching, but I have lost a lot of interest since Amanda and Kris were eliminated. There was no reason for Margie and Luke to U-turn Amanda and Kris. They gained absolutely nothing for it. So I'm not really strongly favoring any of the teams that are left, but I guess I would pick either Lakisha and Jennifer first and Cara and Jamie second.
I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't let my stuff out of my sight, especially, passports and money! I'm always amazed at how cavalier some teams are in that respect. I mean, leaving important documents sitting on a dock?! They were very lucky that it was still there.
but they keep breaking the rules and getting into trouble!
There's quite a debate on tarflies about the whole M&M penalty...
the conclusion is..
When teams barter with their own goods, they are essentially bringing the very funds and resources that they were not allowed to bring with them - one of the greatest of challenges on the race is to make do without the social contacts you've developed, without the finances you've earned, and without the technology which you have familiarized yourself. You could ask yourself: What if Mark & Michael had paid the cab driver with money they brought with them? Ultimately, paying for services with goods you've brought with you is no different. (And it would be an unfair advantage if a richer team could bring a rolex as a watch rather than say a timex watch)
Last year, when Team Superbad, tried (but failed to) barter with their shoes, they were shoes they had bought with race money.
We think it must be a new-ish rule because there is no way Uchenna would have been willing to barter his watch at the finish line in S7 if he knew he'd get a 2 hour penalty.
That helps explain things. And I can see their point. But it also makes me wonder, given this no barter rule - what teams should do if for some reason the cannot pay the cab fare through no fault of their own, such as the cab getting stuck in heavy traffic and the fare increasing much higher than it normally would. Failing to pay a cab fare is essentially stealing, and theft can often carry very severe penalties in some countries. :-\
I think Mama and Baby Bear got a little over zealous tonight and thought Keish and Jen were playing up to them because of Luke being deaf - I can understand why she got into Momma mode as she was angry but Keisha and Jen were not being mean to him becasue of his deafness. And he did push her first.. see what the tension will do to you, eh!?!
See I thought they were both so into the race and racing for the clue that it was one each, him first her second (slightly).. he could have broken her nose with that elbow swipe.
It's like a law school class where they do an exercise to show how unreliable witnesses are...we all saw the same incident from the same angles and some of us saw Luke being aggressive and some of us saw Jen being aggressive.
It was very much a Killer Fatigue thing me thinks. They had an overnighter from the airport to the first task - notice the change of clothes and from night to day all of a sudden?
They also did another task not seen on the show.. http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/photos/photos.php?v=24872&s=1&p=1
something to do with chinese drums.
I also loved the music/clips of the brothers dancing!
[Is signing with thick gloves on, like Phil did, the sign-language equivalent of talking with your mouth full?]
Margie but especially Luke came off as bad sports this episode. I liked them before last week's freak out bit now, I dont want them to win I dont rekon, really in terms of performance Tammy & Victor should win and they actually have been a decen funny team the whole way through apart from that little blip in Romania. But three legs in china is a bit of an unfair advantage for them!
Felt sorry for Jen, but didn;t like their comment at the airport 'me no speak english' - ugly americanism!
Yes. That was uncalled for. I'm surprised we didn't hear a similar comment from Jamie. She's earned the blue ribbon for inappropriate comments and behavior. >:( :P
heh, I know, but she has a dinger in the next episode preview.... did you see it?
SEE THIS IS WHY I DIDNT WANT TO COME TO CHINA!!
I was personally glad it was a non elim. It would have been a shame for Jen to go out because of her fear.
But also it made me smile cos Luke was bing a dick in the car saying..... "HAHAHAHA they're going out cos they're so rubbish in water"
It wouldn't be a shame at all! If you are applying to be on the Amazing Race, you should make damn well sure that your neurotic and paralysing fears are taken care of. before you go. And for god's sake learn how to Swim, Drive (including Stick) and RUN. I have very little sympathy for people who go on there unprepared.
Victor & Tammy are still my faves, they deserve to win. Margie and Luke are still milking that ridiculous argument from last week. Read my liips: let it go!
Well, this is very true, and agreed if I was on it I would also try to make sure I had everything covered but if you have a paralising fear you can understand why you freeze when it actually came to it.. even if you ahd mentally prepared yourself for it and she did do the swimming in the end.
Did you notice Tammy said she had had swimming lessons before she came on the race? You go girl!
Which brings me to another point which you mentioned- why do they never learn how to drive a geared car? WHY!? It's honesty not hard once you get than hang of it. For gawds sake go get some lessons cos you KNOW you're going to encounter a stick shift on the race. Geez!
*sigh*
not even in here can we lay the America bashing aside.
oh yeah, I am sure you would have.
I am for anyone to win except for Luke and Margie. I am pulling for Jen and Keisha, but again anyone other than Luke and Margie will do. I just cannot stand them. They are such poor sports plus they are very mean and hateful. It seems that Luke can push anybody around and then cry about it. He is major spoiled and Mother Margie just makes it worse. He always has to get his way. It seems ok to them when they laugh at people as well. They showed that way back when they started with their dirty business. Get eliminated please.
Uhm.....yeah... I would.
You obviously dont read my post holiday posts here on BM much. It's my pet hate when you hear some chav from the UK while on the beach in e.g greece going...
"The food here is horrible.. it's all greek crap...."
:o :o
Ehhhm HELLLOOOOOOO!!!!! You're in Greece! Go to Blackpool if you don't like the food in Greece. Jesus-H!
That's one that irrates me about some people on TAR - they have this AMAZING opportunity that many people would kill for, and then they moan!
Fair enough if you have a little panic attack, that can be excused to a degree, but hello, have you watched the show?
well Oilgun I have friends in Canada so you wont' see me trashing the entire country because I dont' like one person or a particular policy. Maybe if the left would look at people as people and not as "groups" they would have a bit more compassion and tact.
And what does left & right-wing politics have to do with obnoxious tourists and The Amazing Race?
Edit: It just occurred to me: Are you saying we should be more Politically Correct! I love it! ;D
What the hell was Jen going to the toilet for? I mean HELLO!!!
I know! I couldn't believe it! I realise that sometimes you REALLY have to go ( I'm at that age now, lol!) but while running to the pitstop? You'd think that adrenaline would take over, I mean the chance at a million buckls was at stake and she knew it. I can't say that I felt very bad when they arrived last, after that mistake.
I'm sorry... I wouldn't have cared... I would have quite willingly peed my pants in the busy tourist crowd, & in front of the TV cameras rather than go to the toilet while running for the final spot of the final 3...
I think they trusted to fate once too many times. Such a shame! I mostly feel sorry for Jen, who was a saint throughout.
They were my favorite team, so now I almost don't care about the finale. I liked Victor and Tamiflu until they U-turned the sisters, and I don't like the redheads so much. Margie and Luke have become unbearable. >:(
What the hell was Jen going to the toilet for? I mean HELLO!!!
Oh well, I am for the cheerleaders ;D
uh oh..
You GOTTA come watch it with us Sunday, Jack!!
come on!!!
Victor is gay? I hadn't heard that! I'm jealous of your TAR knowledge!!! ;D I knew Luke was and had been told there was pretty much confirmed romours of Kisha but hadn't heard anything about Victor. Where did you find that out?
Busted! I don't kknow for sure, I'm just spreading the rumour ;D Someone on the Dave Cullen Forums said that many people who know Victor have been posting on blogs that he is gay. I choose to believe it because I like Victor and my gaydar does go off regularly when he's on the screen, lol!

I always get emotional when the teams do the finish line bit and the clips of both the chherleader and Luke and Margie in the cabs also made me cry.
I ahve to say, I really think the best team won here. They as a team ahve been the most consistent, the friendliest and cheeriest contestants all the way through except for the blip in Romania.
Statistically in terms of their placing in all the legs they're one of the best teams ever. Once somebody posts the stats on tarflies I'll let you know bu I beleive they are only behind Jeremy & Tyler (Season 9) (This doesn't include Jeremy in Season 11's placings) and Nick & Starr.
I appreciate that she Jaamie apologised to the driver and showed Luke the last two boards after he helped her finish. (
Re: "...not their personal concierge"-Ha!- but to be fair they were only asking to find a bloody road - surely a taxi should be able to do that - surely thats what they get paid for!?! He did really run when he was putting the petrol in tho so he made up for it...!
I really like Cara though - she's very nice - she looks so pretty at the stat of each leg and shattered at the end - Jaamie always look great!
Cara was nearer the pig when she was trying to carry it - I think the load was mostly on her hence why she was having so much trouble.
It was the gayest season ever of The Amazing Race, and also one of the best ever. Coincidence? I don't think so. There was father and son Mel and Mike White, who are both gay; sisters Kisha and Jen, (Kisha is a lesbian); one person who apparently isn't out of the closet; and, finally, Luke Adams and his mom Margie.
Luke and Margie were the only team with a gay member to make it to the final three, and while they didn't quite make it over the finish line first, they ran an impressive race — especially considering Luke is deaf, a potential drawback in a race where quick communication can be vital.
While the show never identified Luke as gay, this 24-year-old Coloradan is out and proud — and especially proud of the fact that he's the youngest gay man to ever make it to the final three. There were a lot of firsts on this season of The Amazing Race, but I'll let Luke tell us about them later. He is the resident TAR expert, after all.
AfterElton.com: Congratulations, guys!
Margie Adams: Thank you. Thank you so much.
AE: You were the first mother and son to make it to the final three, correct?
MA: I think so, Luke would know better than me.
Luke Adams: Yes.
AE: Luke, you're not only the first deaf racer on the show, but also the youngest gay person to make it to the final three. What did it mean for you guys to be on The Amazing Race and make it so far?
MA: It's incredible. I think we still think we're dreaming.
AE: Luke, from our interview with Mel White, we understand you are openly gay and wanted to be identified as such, but the TAR producers didn't want to. Do you feel they missed out on a chance to represent an extremely under-represented segment of the gay and lesbian community?
LA: CBS didn't want to add too many labels, a gay this or a gay that. Mel and Mike were very open about being gay, that was their team. I think the focus on my team with my mom was the fact that I was deaf, not that I was gay. I think they didn't want to confuse people by adding too many labels to me.
MA: [laughs] There are a lot of labels that could be on him!
LA: A lot of people have misconceptions that I like Cara and Jamie, and that's not true. We're friends, of course, but my interest in them is not like that. [laughs]
AE: What dating challenges do you face as a young, gay deaf man that a hearing person might not?
LA: It's the same.
MA: I think his dating options are fewer. [laughs]
LA: Dating for me might be a little harder because of the communication issue. I need to find someone to date who is willing to have patience and learn sign, and is willing to understand the deaf culture. I suppose that could be an issue.
AE: What message would you most like the hearing gay community to take away from your time on the show?
LA: I don't know. When I was in the race, I was really focused. That's not who I am. I'm not the same person I was on the race. I want people to know I'm the same as all other people except I can't hear. That's the only difference.
AE: Margie, how did you react when Luke came out?
MA: Luke told me when he was nineteen and he was a freshman in college. He told me in a text message from school, because that's how we communicate, through text or relay, and I said, "Okay. Thank you for telling me. Why did you wait so long?" He was surprised and said, "What?"
LA: No, no, no, Mom. I wanted to make sure I was actually gay. There was a time in my life that I was a little bit confused. I felt kind of both ways about it, but I wanted to make sure before I said anything to you that I was gay.
MA: Yeah, well, Luke sends me this text message and says, "I have something really important to tell you, and I don't want to hurt your feelings and I don't want you to be mad, but I'm gay." And I was like, "Thank you for telling me." And he was like, "You're not mad?" And I just said, "Why would I be mad? I've known your whole life." [laughs]
It doesn't change who Luke is. He's my son. He's a wonderful person. If he likes a man or likes a woman, that doesn't make any difference to me. I just want him to be happy. I called his sister when he told me, and said, "Hey, Luke finally came out." And she said, "Oh, it's about time." [laughs] There was no drama, no surprise. Nothing really changed except I think Luke was able to take a breath and be himself a little more around us.
LA: Actually, I felt a lot better after I did come out to my mom.
AE: Luke, do you have a boyfriend? I see your Facebook profile says "in a relationship."
LA: I'm single.
MA: And looking...
AE: I'll be sure to stress that Mom said he's looking!
MA: [laughs]
AE: Back to the show. The two of you have such a great relationship, and your closeness really seemed to play to your advantage in the game — especially your ability to communicate using sign language. Were there ever times when Luke's hearing impairment was a distinct disadvantage?
MA: I think when we were on the rickshaw in Phuket, Thailand. He was just out of my reach so I couldn't get his attention. I couldn't touch him to get him to stop, I couldn't give him directions, so if he was running, I couldn't get his attention. That was really frustrating for me. He was just out of reach, even with the hat or whatever. That was the one time I think we had a disadvantage.
AE: Margie, Phil nicknamed you the bionic woman, and for good reason — you were like superwoman for most of the race, annihilating much younger competition on both physical and mental challenges right up till the end. What's your secret? How do you stay in such amazing shape?
MA: [laughs] Well, you know, in truth, I'm not really in such amazing shape.
LA: Yes, you are mom. Yes, you are.
MA: I don't know. I exercise pretty regularly, not too extreme or anything like that. I run two or three miles a couple times a week, I go to the gym a couple times a week. I don't have a trainer or anything like that. I just try to take care of myself. The Colorado lifestyle lends itself to being healthy. There are so many beautiful places to hike.
When it's nice, you just want to be outside. And I'm fortunate; I come from a large family, I have five brothers and three sisters, and we're all pretty athletic, we're all pretty natural athletes. We were brought up playing sports, running, swimming, and things like, so I've always been exposed to things like that. It's just part of who I am. I don't go out of my way to exercise or anything like that. I guess I'm just very fortunate.
AE: what was the hardest challenge? Was it the rickshaw challenge?
LA: The makeup challenge! I have no skill for how to put makeup on.
MA: And it was frustrating for me because he did such a horrible job and made me look so horrible, that... [laughs] You know what? I don't think there was a physical challenge that we really minded. The rickshaw challenge when I fainted, that was supposed to be a two mile run, but Luke and I got lost with the help of some British tourists who told us to go to the wrong place, so we ended up going five miles that day.
It was almost a hundred degrees, it was so humid, and we didn't have water with us. It wasn't that it was a difficult challenge, it just went too long for us. All the physical challenges were hard, don't get me wrong, but there was nothing there we didn't feel like we couldn't do. It was the mental things like the Chekov puzzle that gave us a little more of a challenge. [laughs]
AE: What was your favorite challenge?
LA: Carrying the pig and the cheese hill. The first challenge and the last challenge.
MA: Those were the favorites for me, too. We lived in Hawaii for three years; Luke's dad was in the army. We didn't live on Maui, but going back to Hawaii for the final leg of the race was really fun for us. We'd been to many luaus, so it was a really cool ending to the race for us because we were back in a place we were very comfortable in, and familiar with the culture. It was just awesome to be back there. So yeah, the first and the last were amazing for us, even though we didn't win the last. [laughs]
AE: Do you regret the fight with Kisha and Jen? Have you guys made up or is there still some animosity there?
MA: No, there's no animosity left. We totally regret...
LA: Maybe a little awkward.
MA: Yeah, it's definitely awkward, but the race was such a wonderful experience, everything single minute was fabulous, and to have just that one, short, brief moment on the race when things didn't go well... It was just an awkward time. There were a lot of misunderstandings, a lot of hurt feelings. We were exhausted. We've definitely made up with Kisha and Jen. We have so much respect for those women. They are fantastic athletes. They are wonderful women who contribute so much to the community with their jobs. They're just fantastic people. That is the one regret we have on the race that one little brief skirmish we had.
AE: Were you close to any of the other teams?
LA: Cara and Jamie, and Tammy and Victor.
AE: That was nice that you all ended up in the final three, then.
MA: Yes. Actually, the first night of the race, when we stopped in Lucarte, Switzerland at the church, it was the day after Halloween, All Souls Day, which is a holy day in Switzerland, so a lot of the stores were closed, the streets were deserted. We found a little café that was open, and Cara and Jamie, Tammy and Victor, and Luke and I sat down and we shared one small pizza because we didn't want to spend our money. We had the nicest evening. We talked about how fun it was to be on the race, and how cool it would be if this was the final three, and how we really liked each other a lot, and we would help each other when we could, and when it was race time, it was race time. We stuck with that through the whole race, and it actually happened that we were the final three teams, so it was pretty cool.
AE: What did you learn about each other that most surprised you?
MA: The thing that I learned about Luke was how competitive he is. I had never, ever seen that side of him.
LA: Yeah, I'm very competitive.
MA: I mean, Luke has always tried his best. He did really well in school and graduated from college. He's always done his best, but I never saw that competitive edge to him that I saw on the race. I was so impressed that every challenge, he gave 110% of what he had to complete it. He was so encouraging with me, "You can do it, Mom. Come on." It was just really, really nice to see. Luke's always been kind of low-key and easygoing, a go-with-the-flow kind of kid, so to see that competitive spirit and nature in him was really nice.
LA: Before the race started, Mom used to doubt herself about her strength. I never doubted my mom for one second. I knew she could do it. I knew with a positive attitude she could do it. I knew she was the right team partner for me.
AE: Thanks for making me cry, Luke.
MA: [laughs]
LA: And not only me, I think she surprised herself. I don't think she knew she had those physical capabilities in her when we did those challenges. She's fifty-one years old, and she's an amazing person. I'm so proud of her.
Interpreter: And you're going to make the interpreter cry. [laughs]
AE: This season is being called one of the best ever. Why do you think it worked so well?
LA: The challenges, the cast chemistry, and a lot of my season had first experiences happen, like mom and me being the first mother and son team to make it to the final three, the first two-woman team to make it to the final three, the first Asian team the make the final three, and the fact that mom and I were in the top four from the beginning to the end.
And people would always say, you're either in first place or fourth place, you kind of take turns back and forth. I think people watched Phil learn sign language to say we were team number one or four or whatever place we came in. I think people really loved the last four because it was kind of Kisha and Jen against us, and Cara and Jamie against Tammy and Victor. And my season was the first time we used the U-Turn two times and both of them were successful. Last season, no one used a U-Turn or if they did, it failed. In my season, we were successful in using both U-Turns, there were a lot of first times for many different things this season.
MA: I agree, it was really exciting, but I think the number one thing was the chemistry of the teams. We all really liked each other, we respected each other, we saw what great competitors everybody was. We just got along really well. It was really nice. It was a nice group to travel with and just be with.
AE: What's next for the both of you?
MA: My fifteen minutes of fame is ticking away here, so I'm going to stay at my job and life goes back to normal.
LA: I'm looking for opportunities. I hope something will come my way soon. And also I hope we'll be picked for the All-Star team.
MA: [laughs] I need a vacation first.

An interview by The Advocate with Luke
PS - I'm currently watching Season 3. With ken and Gerard (Team Oh Brother!) I'd forgotten how fab they are! And how 'New Yawk' Jill (from John Vito and Jill who were in all Stars) sounded in season 3!! She's obviously toned down the accent!
Jill's brother was killed in the Trade Centre, and John Vito was one of his best friends. In comforting each other they fell for each other. They are not a couple any more but are still very good friends. Well certainly that was how it was at the end of All Stars.
Well I was close I guess ;) I really hated it that they did not last longer on All Stars.
Bumping.. cos TAR starts next week!
And the cast list is up.
It includes brothers Sam and Dan who are both gay and came out to each other last summer. (And bonus! Both cuties!!)
http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/
Kelda, did you leave a team off the list? I don't see Big Easy and Flight Time up there.
Gil, it's great to see you! Are you living in Montreal now?
I loved the part with the ducks. But I hated the beginning. I thought it was just plain mean for the producers to eliminate one couple before they could even get on a plane. Are we supposed to think they're tough and cool for crushing someone's hopes before they're even out of the gate? Not! >:(

I loved the part with the ducks. But I hated the beginning. I thought it was just plain mean for the producers to eliminate one couple before they could even get on a plane. On "Top Chef" one time, they eliminated one chef because she was the slowest in slicing an apple; she never got into the kitchen. Are we supposed to think they're tough and cool for crushing someone's hopes before they're even out of the gate? Not! >:(
Sam & Dan were a big disappointment: "Where is the Persian Gulf? Tickets to the Persian Gulf please.." ??!! How can Americans, of all people, NOT know where it is (and that it isn't a country) lol! If I could I would probably change my vote. ;)
Kelda, I bow to your in-depth analysis! (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h269/merylmarie/Emoticons/bowdown.gif)

They dont always do every continent in every season..they normally do some sort of circle so they're now making their way back to the US via various countries.
I know where they go as I've seen the spoilers but I wont tell you where!!
:D
Im really looking forward to seeing the hay task again and see who freaks..
Thanks for the Sam and Dan videos Kelda!!! Yes I am watching......haven't missed an episode yet. I just haven't been on here much. I have been for Sam and Dan since Week 1. GO TEAM SAM AND DAN!!!
So what did people think of this episode?
Looking back at the replay Big Easy was talking rubbish.. it was not a lets elbow them sceanario. It was a OMG we have to run as fast as we can but we're on slippery surfaces with no shoes on scenario.
I laughed at the blurring of Sam & Dan on the volleyball task.. never noticed that SOOO much on TAR before!!! Guess there was a lot of peekage clingyness going on..!!
I quite liked the saunabus - fun idea! and I liked Gary singing away and saying.. hey this could be a good business idea!!
Sad to see GAry/Matt go. I liked them! And according to the interviews they were only 7mins behing Erica and Bryan to the pitstop.
PRAGUE next!!!
No, sorry not explaining myself very well.
Big Easy was all like GRRRR DAN PUSHED FLIGHTIME WHEN RUNNING TO THE MAT - THATS OUT OF ORDER AND JUST YOU WATCH YOURSELF GUY, but watching the footage back Dan didn't push anyone - he was slipping and sliding all over the place. And happened to bump into flightime as a result. And they both fell over.
Yeah the candle A BRA was funny!!
I hope you get over to Prague at some point hunny!
I haven't watched the last few episodes for some reason but I'll make a point of watching the Prague episode. I was there way back in 85 and it was surreal. Of course that was mostly due to the fact that it was still behind the "iron curtain" then. I remember having to line-up for everything, except alcohol of course, lol! Gorgeous city. Wasn't Yentl filmed there as well?
I never saw that kind of blurring on TAR either!!! It made me want to see whatever they were blurring ;) Wonder if there are unedited versions around :-\ I have seen that kind of blurring a lot on Survivor, but that is typically because they are in competitions where their clothes are falling off and things are being exposed that were not meant to be exposed. Also, I think Sam and Dan would be much more interesting to see ;)
After the Roadblock, it takes Sam all of ten seconds to solve what took his brother much, much longer
I will miss the Globetrotters.... but I'm still cheering for Dan and Sam...
That 4 hour penalty was a big shame though... I wish that hadn't happened. :(
Big Brother is much more strategic in the US. Int he UK people vote who they want out for nomination - the two or more that have the most nomination go up for public votes, and thats it.
Joran and Jeff will probably be helped because they are well know,, this really helped Amber & Rob at times.... particulary in the first leg of their season. I predict midway because of this help but not much further.
I think you are right. I liked Rob and Amber much better though. I know a lot of people don't like Rob, but I do. I felt they kind of got the shaft on TAR because of a misspelled word and then I believe one of the other teams gave them (I can't remember what it is called now). It is where they have to go and do the other challenge too at the roadblock. Whatever happened was bad in my opinion because at that point they were already far, far behind. I hate that thing in TAR and I would love to see them get rid of it. It seems it is always directed at a team who is already losing anyway. Anyway, Rob is going to be on the upcoming Survivor.
Oh really? ANOTHER All star Survivor?
Why did the rodeo brothers get Brazillian money!?! Doh!
Why did Jordan think she was going to China!?!
Got some real thinkers there. ::) :P
So far the bimbo-y types are showing everyone up, and I can't say any of the other teams impresses me overly much. I was amazed, though, when the cowboys managed to jump from ninth to finishing in the top five. 8)
Okay I get mixed up - is Dan the gay guy or is Jordan?
It the gay guy thats the uber fan.
Yes, the hissy fits were bad.. although to be fair, I think its killer fatigue doing it!
See, i thought Dan was FAR worse. He was banging on the side and being quite aggresive.
Exclusive: Dan Pious and Jordan Pious discuss their 'The Amazing Race' win
By Reality TV World staff, 05/10/2010
Although they finished a distant third in the The Amazing Race's penultimate sixteenth-season leg, Dan Pious and his brother Jordan Pious never stopped giving the competition their all, and that attitude paid off in the final leg.
Dan, a 24-year-old financial advisor from Barrington, RI, and Jordan, a 22-year-old strategic consultant who currently resides in Atlanta, GA, won The Amazing Race's sixteenth season during last night's finale broadcast of the CBS reality competition.
Dan and Jordan defeated Jet McCoy and his brother Cord McCoy -- who finished second and were better known as "the cowboys" -- and "dating models" Caite Upton and Brent Horne to claim the competition's million dollar prize.

On Monday, Dan and Jordan talked to Reality TV World about their The Amazing Race experience -- including why they were confident their third-place gap wouldn't be a hindrance in the final leg, what they thought their key winning move was, how they feel about Caite's feud with previously eliminated racers Carol Rosenfeld and Brandy Snow, and which racer they allege really "hates gays."
Check back with Reality TV World on Tuesday and Wednesday for our interviews with Jet and Cord as well as Caite and Brent.
Reality TV World: You guys arrived at the Shanghai Pit Stop more than three hours behind Brent and Caite and almost three hours behind Jet and Cord.
Jordan Pious: That's right.
Reality TV World: So leaving there, did you think you still had much of a chance of winning at that point or did you figure the other teams were probably already boarding a pre-dawn flight?
Dan Pious: When we left it was about 6AM so almost all airports don't open until then at all. But one major consistency throughout the Race was that the flights really bunched everyone together, even if you finished in first place.
When we finished in first place in Singapore, we left a couple of hours, because of the Fast Forward, ahead of someone but our flight wasn't for six hours at that until everyone had left the Pit Stop and got on the flight.
Jordan Pious: It's part of the Race.
Dan Pious: It was interesting I felt like this season -- and Jordan can probably speak to this a little more -- but this season kept people bunched up flight-wise most of the time.
Reality TV World: Except for Europe... (laughs)
Jordan Pious: Right, except for Europe.
Dan Pious: Right, exactly. It's funny you should mention that, that was the one time -- the one flight from South America to Europe -- that was the one time you had to make a flight decision. Aside from that, everyone was actually on the same exact flights.
Jordan Pious: And then those legs in Europe, which you may have been alluding to as well.
Reality TV World: Yeah, I was talking about [those European legs] where [dating former Big Brother houseguests Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd] were never had a chance to get [bunched back up] basically.
Jordan Pious: Oh yeah, and those legs in Europe, ["Detectives" Michael Naylor and Louis Stravato] came in first each time because where you started off had a big effect on where you finished. Really when you eliminate those big transportation -- those big flights or big [train rides] or whatever -- you do tend to have [prior] placement have more of an effect on [the next leg].
Reality TV World: The Race seemed pretty close at the end. Do you guys have any idea about how far ahead of Jet and Cord you got to the finish line?
Dan Pious: We were ahead of them by about 25 minutes. Maybe just a little bit more, but about 25 minutes.
Reality TV World: So not that close at all then.
Dan Pious: No, it really wasn't.
Reality TV World: I know you guys had figured it was probably going to be a memory challenge at the end of the Race, but were you surprised how simple it ended up being?
Jordan Pious: Yeah, it's interesting because I think we had that question before. I watched The Amazing Race for 15 seasons and I knew that I was going to be taking really, really good notes because if we're in the final leg there's going to be a memory challenge more than likely.
And I think that it was definitely much easier than any memory challenge that I had seen before, but when you take a look at the leg and how taxing it was -- with climbing Coit Tower and then with the virtual world challenge and then lugging around that trunk 20 blocks in downtown San Francisco -- I mean it was definitely a long leg and so it kind of made sense to us that it was a pretty quick final piece before you could get to the finish line.
Reality TV World: Given you never fell out of first place after that, how big of a role do you think the fact that you guys were able to move up to first class and be the first ones off the plane [in San Francisco] played in your win?
Jordan Pious: There was a flight attendant that really took a liking to my brother and he milked it for all it was worth, and that's what you've got to do in the final leg of The Amazing Race. I mean at the end of the day, that fifteen minute lead that we had getting off the plane, we never lost that.
I mean we were in first throughout the final leg and you know, we sat in first class for the last 30 minutes because that flight attendant let us move up to first class. We were the very first people off the plane and we really never looked back.
Reality TV World: So I just want to be clear, even though the rules don't let you buy first class seats, there aren't any restrictions about what you do once your on the plane, right?
Jordan Pious: No, in fact you can have first class tickets if you pay the economy price, or the coach price.
Dan Pious: Right, you can't pay to get an upgrade but if the airline's willing to give you an upgrade -- and that never happened -- but what you're saying and what we did is 100% right. If you're anywhere on the plane, you can move anywhere else on the plane if the flight attendants will let you.
Reality TV World: Given that move seemed so crucial, do you think we might see more of that [from other racers] in the Race going forward?
Jordan Pious: Yeah, to be honest I think teams in the past seasons have looked for those opportunities, and it's hard to capitalize on those opportunities. But my brother did a phenomenal job with capitalizing on a good relationship that he had with that flight attendant and realizing that there were some seats in first class that were open for us to move up to.
So I'm sure other teams have tried to make moves like that but I will say it's hard to get a lead like that and we were fortunate enough to have my brother have that type of relationship with the flight attendant.
Reality TV World: Jordan, after you found out you were going to San Francisco you made a comment about the city "is a very gay friendly place." Was there any particular reason you mentioned that -- had you had some problems in "unfriendly" places earlier in the Race?
Jordan Pious: No, you know what I think it was, I think we were in China and there was such a language barrier and the locals there really weren't helping us really in any way in that leg. And so when we opened up the clue and we saw San Francisco, I was like, "Great, not only is it on U.S. territory but it's also a gay-friendly place so if we see people on the side of the street then they're maybe going to be more prone to help us."
You know listen, there are certain teams here who have, you know, different opinions on homosexuality and what not and I think they've been voiced throughout the season and all that. And I think it was just a very comforting thing to see that we were going to a city that I knew was very accepting of that and that it wouldn't be a hindrance to our final leg.
Reality TV World: What happened during the backpack incident at the airport? I mean Dan, you seemed to admit it was kind of a "dirty" move afterward but and it didn't seem like the kind of move that was going to make any difference in the Race unless you guys really thought there might only be two sets of seats on that flight so...
Dan Pious: Could you repeat the question? You said something about I said it was a dirty move afterwards, I just want to understand you.
Reality TV World: Well that's what I said. What I said was you seemed to admit afterwards that it was kind of a dirty move or considered it kind of a dirty move. I thought that [was a direct quote from last night's episode], no?
Dan Pious: When was that on? I must have missed that part.
Reality TV World: Okay, you're saying you didn't feel it was a dirty move, I guess?
Dan Pious: No listen, I'll answer your question first.
Reality TV World: Okay.
Dan Pious: It made obviously no difference whatsoever, so that's the important thing When it's all said and done, if Jet and Cord were sitting right next to us -- Jet would probably be sitting away from Jordan -- but I think it would be made very clear that it had obviously zero impact.
Funny enough, the three teams sat in three rows consecutively in the very back of the plane [and] all middle seats. And Brent and Caite, who actually were first in line, actually for some reason had the third row all the way closest to the back.
And just so you know, we were forced to take that plane from Shanghai. There was actually another plane from Shanghai that all of us could have gotten on but we were required to take a certain flight, and the actual seats on that flight had absolutely no impact. What did have an impact was moving up to first class, which would have happened regardless of where we sat in the plane.
Jordan Pious: Right, and I just want to add that I wasn't intending that move to be malicious or nasty in any way. And I actually put my bag down and sat next to Caite and talked to her and was hanging out with her. And you know, next thing you know, the ticket counter opened up...
Dan Pious: Yeah...
Jordan Pious: And I stood up and then I think it was just kind of we all knew we were getting on the same flight, we all knew we were getting on the same area of the plane and that seats didn't really have an impact, and so I didn't see it as a big deal and I certainly...
Dan Pious: And I think it's important to note, you can go and look at us cutting as being a dirty move but I think you can probably say the same for Cord coming in and trying to distract me and just talking aimlessly when I was trying to direct Jordan on the virtual reality thing or whatever.
You know, at the end of the day it's a Race for a million dollars and when you're that close you're playing to win the game. I think some people will say "play with dignity" and other people say "win at all costs" and some people sit on the fence.
But we made moves and they made moves and at the end of the day, our moves impacted them zero percent and their moves, well it got to us a little more than that, but still made no difference. I mean that's fair enough, right?
Reality TV World: Dan, I think you're misunderstanding. I was just quoting what I thought you had said on the episode last night. I wasn't calling it a dirty move myself.
Dan Pious: No, no, no. You know what it is, we've been getting the question a lot, so I keep kind of blending it together, you know what I mean? And it's an important point and I think it's an interesting aspect.
Reality TV World: No, I understand that, but we only have I think about five more minutes so I have some other things I'd like to get to if we could.
Dan Pious: Sure.
Reality TV World: When you two were at Lucasfilm, you had that other kind of little incident where it looked like Jet and Cord had a chance to catch up and maybe even pass you guys but Jet seemed kind of passive and waited for Jordan to be done before moving forward in the virtual room. Were you surprised they weren't more aggressive?
Jordan Pious: [Unintelligible] touch us
Dan Pious: Yeah, I mean I think Jet wants to stay as far away from Jordan as possible, but really what I thought was interesting about that particular aspect was that Jet had seen Jordan spinning so we could read the clue on the computer screen and yet when it was their time to read the clue they sat there for what looked like several minutes totally confused on how to read the clue and Jet didn't spin or anything.
I was surprised because, who knows, maybe they could have really made up some time there. I was surprised to see them not start spinning to read the clue so that Cord could see it on the screen slower.
Jordan Pious: Yeah, they must have realized that I wasn't spinning for no reason.
Reality TV World: That's a couple of different times now in this interview that you guys have mentioned Jet apparently having some problem with Jordan. We really didn't see much of that on the show, can you elaborate on that a little bit?
CBS publicist: Let's talk about their strategic play on the show.
Dan Pious: Jet hates gays, yeah.
Jordan Pious: I mean, but he made comments about Carol and Brandy on the show.
Dan Pious: Yeah, Jet called Jordan a "fag" Saturday night for absolutely no reason and Jordan just said hello to him, so there was something on the Race and I guess, in all fairness, there's some stuff that isn't shown and I think it's an important thing to get out.
Because I don't think there's any doubt that certain things happened and it all plays a part in everyone's reaction. I don't remember exactly what was said on this past episode, but when Jordan was walking away from the counter I believe Jet said something to Jordan.
I'm totally drawing a blank now, but he said something. I'll have to watch the episode again, because I've only seen it once because I'm in New York.
So listen, I think there's some animosity but it really goes one-way. But we'll focus on the positive.
Reality TV World: Okay, well I guess let's focus on [the animosity] we definitely did see on TV, which was Caite's dislike of Carol and Brandy. Jordan, when you guys were on the bus with them, you seemed to think that dislike was possibly just because they were gay.
Jordan Pious: No, yeah, I'm definitely glad you're giving me the opportunity to clarify this. I did not hear what Caite said and you can see I said, "Do you mean you U-Turned them because they are lesbians?" It was a question, because I didn't hear what Caite said.
I will tell you because Caite -- I mean I was just rooming with her in New York. She definitely is not homophobic. I mean she loves me, and if she was homophobic then she wouldn't like me and she wouldn't spend time with me and she wouldn't be a friend of mine, but she is.
I think it was just a matter of not hearing what she said and you know what, it was a personal issue between Carol and Brandy and Caite and it kind of bubbled up and came to the surface at the finale at the finish line. And it was I guess kind of their time to get it out there, and it is what it is.
Reality TV World: I thought we had a couple of more minutes but I've been told we're out of time, so can you tell me how you were cast on the Race? I know Jordan was obviously the one that had been pushing for it, but how did it come about?
Jordan Pious: I sent in an audition video with my brother -- I tried to get him to do a video with me for [Season] 15 but I had to do about another six months of convincing.
Dan Pious: (laughs)
Jordan Pious: I finally got him to do an audition video with me and we applied just like anybody else.
Dan Pious: And I'm glad I did!
Jordan Pious: Yes. It was just a great experience. Yeah, we applied just like anybody else, got a call, went to the semifinals and then the finals and the rest is history, I guess.
Thanks for the article, Kelda. Very interesting!
So when are you and Callum going to apply for the Race? :D Do you have to be U.S. citizens?
You do or I would definitely have tried to apply - I've already told Callum he has no option if the UK ever become eligible!
Before jumping to conclusions and lableing Jet as homophobic (shudders), a wise and judicious route would be to hear the other side of the story.
Typical over-reaching and over-simplyfying. ::)
I think they should have an "international race" at some point. Perhaps they could have three or four American teams, and then the rest of the teams from various other countries around the world. It could really turn out interesting because inevitably some legs of the race would be in certain teams' home countries and it would be fun to see how much of an added advantage it would give them.
If anything, it would give a new twist to the show. Maybe someone should suggest it to CBS.
If I hadn't read the piece Kelda posted, I would have doubted the credibility of that article. First of all it says in the headline that it was Cord who called Jordan a fag. Secondly it claims Jordan lives in Rhode Island. I was under the impression it is Dan who lives in Rhode Island and Jordan now resides in Georgia. But maybe I got those facts mixed up.

Nobody said that every single person from states (like Oklahoma) dislike gay people. I'm sure there are some very liberal people in the bible belt. Just as I know for certain that there are a lot jerk conservatives (in liberal areas). A region does not define an entire set of people. We're intelligent people and we know that. However, it is a known fact (just look at the voting results) that certain regions have a majority of people who have different values than other regions. The bible belt didn't get that name by accident. I think what people are trying to say, or at least what I meant, was that based on where they're from, it really wouldn't be too much of a shock if they were raised to believe certain things.
"There was a production glitch during last week’s leg that lead to numerous time delays for several of the racers, and in the interest of fairness, the producers decided at the end of last week’s leg that Nick & Vicki would not have to perform a speed bump for this week’s episode. We take fairness very seriously on the show, so that’s why they had to make that decision, once they realized there was a production glitch, we are going to start with no speed bump for [Nick & Vicki]."
So a girl girl team won! yay!!!!
Apparently it includes Teams from TAR 12,14, 15 16 &17.
Gary and Mallory - S17
Kisha and Jen - S14
Jamie and Cara- S14

You really want to know?
Well the reality fan forum has a defiinite boot list for a few legs and approximate for the rest.
You can view the forum at: http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?board=122.0
They have all sorts of soilers and pictures on it.. they call themselves the TAR detectives as the scour the internet and sometimes reallife locations for clues about the progress of the race. There is something about Luke that I don;t like.. I just can;t quite put my finger on it.... but I do like that hes an uber fan. I like fans on the race rather than some casting stunt.
Here's a fun little quiz. It's pretty difficult though and of course I flagged it. :P

'The Amazing Race' Exit Interview: Margie and Luke Adams
by MSN TV
It was hard to get a good sense of how long you guys were actually stuck at the tea-tasting challenge. How long were you there?
Luke: Four hours! It was sooooooo long.
Luke, do you have any idea how many cups of tea you actually drank?
Luke: I had no idea how many cups I drank! There were 1,500 teacups. Maybe between 300 and 400? I do not want to drink a [cup of tea] ever again.
Did you have any strategy going into it?
Luke: No, it's just a complete pure-luck challenge. I tried to smell the teas -- there's no way to tell the difference. I just literally grabbed random teacups and hoped it was the right one!
The pace this season seems incredible. Did the pace (and the resulting exhaustion) contribute to struggling with the tea challenge?
Luke: Exhaustion had nothing to do with the tea challenge. We actually got a bit of rest the night before we got up in the morning for the tea challenge. It was just pure luck.
It seemed like the books-delivery challenge might have been faster than painting the statue of Ganesha. Was that true? Was there a sense that if you'd taken the other challenge, you might have beaten the Globetrotters?
Luke: If only I knew the book delivery task was so much faster, I would have gone for it! I guess it's slightly possible that we could have beaten Globetrotters -- we'll never know. I had no idea how far behind we were. We finished the Ganesha task 15 minutes after the Globetrotters left. So, maybe 10 to 15 minutes behind?
Margie: It's hard to tell -- we don't know if the books versus the painting would have helped. We got to the painting just as the Globetrotters were finishing up, and I think we got to the Pitstop about 30 minutes after them.
I found the reaction from the Indian attendants as Luke finished the challenge really touching.
Luke: That was really unexpected and super sweet of them. I actually gave them a handshake and thanked them for their encouragement before we left. They actually started to cheer and clap for me after Globetrotters left. It wasn't easy to be the last one at the task!
Margie: The "tea men" were so sweet. When Luke was struggling, they encouraged him by clapping, and when Luke found the tea they were so happy, lifting him as best they could. I had to take the time before we left to thank each of them.
Margie, how has Luke changed and evolved as a racer since the first time you competed?
Margie: During season 14, I was kind of the decision maker, and Luke would say, "What can I say -- she is my mother." This season, he was more in control, and when he disagreed with me, he let me know.
Luke, you obviously seemed quite concerned that you had taken your mom out of the race. Has it happened long ago now that maybe it's become sort of funny, or is it still a sore subject? How does this compare to your Season 14 exit, when that surfboard challenge literally cost you a million dollars?
Luke: It's just funny to look at both races and how both [exits] were on my downfall. It has nothing to do with my mom. I felt like I let her down twice. The tea challenge isn't a sore subject now -- surfboards [from their original season] still haunt me, though! I mean, we were only one picture away from winning!

Exclusive: Margie Adams and Luke Adams talk 'The Amazing Race'
By Reality TV World staff
Margie Adams and Luke Adams seemed likely to survive the Race's next leg when they left the fifth leg's Pit Stop of The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business all-stars edition in third place.
However, their Race took a fatal turn when the dropped into last place after Luke struggled to complete a tea-tasting Roadblock task -- resulting in the "Mother and Son" becoming the fourth team eliminated from the competition during Sunday night's broadcast of the show's sixth episode.
On Monday, Margie and Luke discussed their The Amazing Race experience with Reality TV World via email -- including how far behind they finished the sixth leg, whether Luke really considered quitting the tea tasting Roadblock task and how long it actually took him to complete it, what the status of their relationship is now with the team they clashed with during their prior The Amazing Race season, and which teams they had expected or felt deserved to be on the current season that weren't.
Reality TV World: About how long were you actually at the Roadblock?
Luke Adams: Four Hours! It wasn't fun at all.
Reality TV World: About how long after Herbert "Flight Time" Lang and Nathaniel "The Big Easy" Lofton had already left the Roadblock were you still there?
Luke Adams: It took me around an hour to find the right tea after they left.
Reality TV World: Luke, it didn't look like it from the episode, but do you feel your deafness played any role in your struggle to complete the Roadblock?
Luke Adams: No, it doesn't have anything to do with my deafness. It's more as for tasting and smelling but there's no way I could tell difference with teas. There were so many fruits in the room, so it made the smelling much harder. My taste buds actually turned sour after drinking so many teas.
Reality TV World: Luke, you said the Roadblock task was "so hard." Why did you feel it was so hard and why do you believe you got so emotional?
Luke Adams: I was drinking tea for four hours! I wasn't feeling well. My taste buds actually turned so bad from drinking so much. I couldn't take it anymore. I want to drink something else at that point! I felt so bad that my team fell to the last place. I didn't want to let my mom down again like I did with the surfboard task in our finale leg on our original season.
Reality TV World: Luke, do you think you still would have completed the Roadblock task if Margie hadn't urged you to finish, and looking back, are you glad you did so?
Luke Adams: It meant so much to have my mom's encouragement. It wasn't easy. I'm not the quitter, but for that tea challenge, I really, really wanted to quit. It was not fun drinking tea for four hours. I'm really glad that I didn't give up and finished the challenge.
Reality TV World: Margie, can you elaborate on why you wanted Luke to finish the Roadblock task?
Margie Adams: I know Luke, and he would not have been able to live with himself if he did not complete a task. He may not win every task, but he never quit.
Reality TV World: Do you have any idea about how far behind Flight Time and Big Easy you got to the Pit Stop?
Luke Adams: I had no idea. Maybe 20 minutes behind? We finished the Ganesha task 15 minutes after they left.
Reality TV World: You looked pretty defeated as you walked up to the Pit Stop -- were you already aware you were in last place?
Luke Adams: I was pretty sure the Globetrotters already checked in unless they got lost!
Margie Adams: We knew we were in last place and we figured it was NOT a non-elimination leg since they had already had two, so we figured we were finished. It was a hard way to go out.
Reality TV World: When I talked to Cara Rosenthal and Jaime Edmondson last week, they said that all the other teams had been very upset that Kent Kaliber and Vyxsin Fiala only received a 30-minute time penalty for not waiting until the following day to take the designated Japan-to-China flight. Was that accurate? What were your opinions about the penalty and do you think it was appropriate?
Luke Adams: I adore Kent and Vyxsin. It was the rule that we had to take a required flight and they did not follow the rule so yeah, I think they should have faced a stiffer penalty. They were only 20 minutes ahead of us when we left the Pit Stop in Japan so they could have made it on the required flight. I just feel bad for Jaime and Cara for getting screwed over with Kent and Vyxsin's U-Turn. That is not fair for the girls.
Margie Adams: That is not a decision we get to make, rules are rules and they were very LUCKY!
Reality TV World: Margie, how difficult was the dinosaur Roadblock in the previous leg and about how long did that take you?
Margie Adams: [LaKisha Hoffman] was already at the roadblock when [Christina Hsu] and I got there. I couldn't tell you how long I was there, but I left about 20 minutes after [Jet McCoy] finished. He raced through that thing. It was really a hard challenge because each piece was so heavy and once you put a piece together, it was really difficult to get them apart.
Reality TV World: You two had clashed with Jennifer Hoffman and Kisha during your first time on the Race. Had you reconciled with Jen and Kisha prior to your Race return, and what's the status of your relationship now?
Luke Adams: We haven't spoke to each other after our first race end and we spoke to each other on the first day of this race so now we are friends! That's really nice. Sometimes we would tweet to each other on Twitter!
Reality TV World: What was your reaction when you learned you would be racing against them again this season?
Luke Adams: I wasn't surprised to see them back. They were a good team and tough to beat on our original season.
Margie Adams: Jen, Kisha, Luke and I have all accepted our share of the responsibility for the "incident in China." We have all apologized and moved on. When you have been on the road for 20-plus days, sleep deprived, hungry all the time -- fuses are short -- that is all it was. We are all great friends now.
Reality TV World: Before you learned you would be flying to India, you had expressed disappointment that the Race might be staying in China for another leg. Why?
Luke Adams: Are you kidding me? We had three legs in China on our original season! Two legs in China are pretty good for me, but now I actually wish we stayed in China instead of flying out to India.
Reality TV World: Some of this season's clues actually seem to be "clues" that need to be solved and not just directions about what to do next like a lot of the show's recent seasons seem to have been. In addition, some of the Roadblocks and Detours seem to be harder than usual. Did you feel that way while you were out there and did that surprise you?
Luke Adams: I actually like the "clues!" It's way more challenging and a lot of placement shuffles around!! It didn't surprise me that the challenges were much harder. I kind of expected it.
Margie Adams: When asked to be on the show we were told that second chances are not free, so we figured it was going to be harder the second time around. So, we were not that surprised. What surprised us was the length of the challenges. The super legs were killer.
Reality TV World: Almost half of this season's cast were fourteenth-season teams -- did that surprise you?
Luke Adams: Yes! Actually I was excited about it. It was like the little mini family reunion.
Margie Adams: No, we had a fantastic group of racers!
Reality TV World: Out of the 10 other teams that were there, were there any that you were surprised to see?
Luke Adams: The only team that I was surprised to see was [Justin Kanew] and [Zev Glassenberg]. They didn't go that far in their season. There were few teams that lost passports!
Reality TV World: All four of this season's first four eliminated teams have been fourteenth-season teams. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Luke Adams: Bad luck for sure! It wasn't planned that way! Actually I would love to have five season 14 teams to be in the Final Five! Apparently, it didn't work out so well!
Reality TV World: Were there any teams that you have been expecting to see on this season or felt deserved to be there that weren't?
Luke Adams: To be honest, I was really, really surprised to NOT see [Brook Roberts] and [Claire Champlin] back! I thought it would be fun to race with them! I thought [Sam and Dan McMillen], [Carol Rosenfeld] and [Brandy Snow], and [Ken and Tina Greene] deserved the second chance for sure. They were great teams.
Margie Adams: I was hoping that [Steve and Linda Cole] would be asked back. They would have been fun to race with again.

Amazing Race's Margie and Luke: We Almost Took a Penalty
Mar 29, 2011 by Joyce Eng
Even though the needle-in-a-haystack tea-identifying Roadblock on The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business brought him to tears and took him four hours to complete, Luke Adams says it was not as hard as the final memory task in the Season 14 finale. "The surfboards were much harder," he tells TVGuide.com. "It was just much harder because [my mom Margie and I] were so close to winning!" This time around, he was thisclose to throwing in the towel.
How did you decide that Luke would do the Roadblock?
Luke: Mom wasn't feeling well on the morning of the tea challenge so we thought it would be better if I did it. I'm glad I did it. I wouldn't want to make her sicker!
Margie: I was recovering from a case of food poisoning and there was no way I was eating or drinking anything until I felt better. Luke volunteered to do it because he knew I was not feeling well.
Did you get sick from drinking so much tea?
Luke: I just felt more bloated. It wasn't easy drinking tea for four hours.
What were your tactics for finding the right cup? Did you smell any of the teas?
Luke: There's no skill involved. ... I had actually tried smelling and I couldn't tell any difference. There were so many smells in the room, so it made it much harder. ... [Mallory] actually said smelling [worked], but it didn't help.
Did you ever consider taking a penalty when you were the last one left?
Luke: Yeah, I was ready to give up. I couldn't take drinking tea anymore, but at same time I really wanted to find the tea and hope that we could catch up with other teams and beat one of them to the mat.
Margie, what was going through your mind when he was struggling so much?
Margie: It was so painful to watch. He is always so concerned that he is letting me or the deaf community down, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He was drinking tea for four hours and I am sure he felt like quitting, but he wouldn't because he didn't want to let me down.
How much encouragement did the attendants at the task give you?
Luke: That was so nice of them! It meant so much especially after we finished last. It was really nice to have their encouragement and we knew that we had to keep going.
Margie: The little "tea men" were so sweet and encouraging. They clapped and cheered for Luke and Flight Time and when Luke finally got the tea and was given the clue. They were so happy for him they tried to lift him on their shoulders.
Why did you decide to do the art Detour? How long did that take?
Luke: The task clues were vague so we weren't sure which one would be faster, but the Ganesha task was much closer so we went for it.
Margie: Our cab driver told us that the trolly stop was closer than the book depot and Luke was not feeling well, so we chose the challenge where he would have to walk the least. It is hard to tell how much time goes by when you are doing a challenge, but we got to the challenge a little before Flight Time and Big Easy were finishing up.
What did Flight Time say to you when he hugged you guys?
Luke: He said good job and he didn't think he would have hung in there as long as I did. That was really nice of him!
Margie: I think Flight Time and Big Easy are the only other people on this earth that understand what Luke went through because Flight Time experienced it too. He hugged me and said he was very proud of Luke and he was surprised by his strength and he really admired him. That was one of the best moments of the Race for me. He is such a great guy.
How far behind the Globetrotters at the Pit Stop were you?
Margie: I think about 30 minutes.
You seemed certain that you were last the way you walked to the Pit Stop. Did you have any hope at all of being safe?
Margie: We figured we were last. They had already had two [super-legs], so Luke and I figured that there would not be another one so soon.
How does this Race experience compare to your first one?
Luke: Much harder! It was just physically exhausting.
Margie: Both were amazing, but in Season 14, we were fortunate enough to race the entire Race and that is just the best. Sitting at elimination station while your friends are still racing is not so fun.
What are you up to now?
Luke: I'm doing a bit of traveling, so I'm really excited about it. I'm thinking about going to grad school this fall. I actually dropped out of grad school two years ago to do The Amazing Race.
Margie: Back to normal life, but I have a new man in my life — well, not a new man. He's someone I knew growing up [and he] found me on Facebook last year. And the only reason I was on Facebook was because Luke said I had to have a page for my "fans." Well, the fans were few and far between, but I did reconnect with my new guy, so thank you, Luke.

Re: the fondue task.. apparently the rules said you had to actually eat the bread.. otherwise the guys could have just drank the cheese.
Flight time and Big Easy were also apparently half an hour in front of the Cowboys getting to the double UTurn so even if they hadnt UTurned the cowboys, they would have still beat them.
As soon as I saw her hair and make up in the post leg interviews slotted into the show, I thought the Goths were out.. Too much time on her hands!
Well, I almost got my favourite final four line up..now if only the girls can go out in the first part of the 2 hour finale next week that will be my perfect final 3!!
Great video, thanks, Kelda! 8)
I thought the blondes were going to follow the showgirls, but they got a reprieve. I don't think they'll last long, though.
Hey, hot twins and a couple of guidos, I'm there, man! ;D
Sad to see Kentucky go.. i was really hoping they would overtake Art & JJ.
Art & JJ are really obnoxious... I reallllllllyyy hope they don't win.
As for the other three, don't really mind who wins, although I like the underdog and Rachel and Dave have won enough..
The Pitstop mat thing... very exciting! How can you NOT have done a roadblock?? Couls whoever it was stumbled on the clue after the roadblock by mistake?
Looking forward to the 2 hour finale!
I'm happy to see the Beekman Boys, Josh and Brent, on the show this season. They have a cute reality series on cable about their goat farm and how they cope with learning how to run the business. I doubt they'll win, as the young couples are really gung-ho, but I'm rooting for them to survive.
I was sorry to see Amy and Daniel leave, too. They had a tough break with the bad cabbie. I think they would have been top contenders. :(
Well done them! And I like that it showed them kissing when they won!
I love the blog too.. they seem like very nice guys!
I had a check and like TAR, the fabulous beekman boys isnt shown here.. might try to find it online.
Also, read The Bucolic Plague. It's a great read!
i already have the 2 books and 1st season region 1 dvd on my amazon wish list!
Nope not on TV here.. searched Sky - our version of TIVO - and its not on any channel at all in the UK. :(
Chrissi - since Josh isn;t known here how did you find the book?
I haven't read The Bucolic Plague, but it's supposed to be good. But before you read it, read "I'm not myself these days" by Josh. Very good book. It's hilarious in places. I started out literally LOLing. I cried from laughter - and later for real. Goes from outraging hilarious to heartbreaking.
After you've read that one, you might need The Bucolic Plague for a happy ending. :)
Meryl.. did you recognise the square where your took our photo together.. they parked there to go to the pitstop.. and the side street that the pit stop was on was either the side street we had lunch on or the one next to it!!
Yep, that side street was!
And I tweeted Phil last night and he retweeted me.. arrrrrggggggghhhhhh!
OMG! How cute were thoe kids at the roadblock! I LOOOOOOVVVED them!
So far, i dont get the hate for the Fghanamilas, yes they are loud, but they seem to be having fun, and isn't that what the race is all about?
The ER doctors are just a bit too holier than thou for me.
So, what do people thing of Season 25?
I like it so far and the dentists actually went up in my estimations this week because they were humble in defeat.
I can't believ in the first epsiode they all had to ask the crowd where the first ever amazing race ended.. I was shouting at the TV. Even if you werent an uber fan surely you'd have done some research? Seems like they are visiting a lot of old places and doing similar tasks.. the punting challenge was first in Season 3 when there was a gay and straight brothers Ken & Gerard who were hilarious and kept falling in.
Wonder if that will be the final task for the $million??
