Title: A Favor Requested from the Photo Folks
Post by: ednbarby on May 26, 2006, 08:21:45 am
Good morning!

I'm working on a little theme in my office, and wondered if any of you have or can locate the shot of Ennis sitting on the hill on their last day on the mountain.

Many thanks!

I've only a screen cap. It's a little bit dark and from far away and not the best quality; not very good at all. I think I've seen it in better quality, but can't find right now. I'll look for the better one later.
Anyway this is it:

It's frome here:

Hope this helps.

Thanks, darlin'.  That might just do the trick.  You see, I have Jack's blue-eyed stare on one wall.  Thought I'd put that one on the opposite.  I'm debating between doing that and just using one of Ennis' lovely close-ups - either the one in Aguirre's office where his face looks so open and vulnerable or the one where he's looking up worriedly at Jack riding up the mountain while he rinses out the coffee pot.  Haven't decided...

Only thing I've found til now is the same pic that I posted above in a better quality. It can't be linked directly (or at least I am not able to do so  ::) ). But if you're interested, I'll download it and then could send it to you.

I know I've seen a more close shot of Ennis sitting on the hill. You can see he has a blade of grass (or similar) in his mouth. But I can't find it anymore, sorry.

That screen capture on top is so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes. The bottom one is mighty appealing, too.

Yes, it is a very sad moment in our boys' life! Sad, indeed!  :'(

Yes.  So sad it makes me question whether I want to go with that theme at all.  I'm thinking this one is slightly less heartbreaking:

I like this better - "The first time ever I saw your face..."  What do y'all think?

They don't show up for me (anymore), either.  I tried saving them to my PC and uploading them to my own image sharing website, then posting the url, and still nada.  This why I need help from you photo folks.

For what it's worth, they're images 0145 and 0148 in the Brokeback section of that site...

The last edit seems to show links to files on your own machine, which is why they aren't working.  Pics under 192k can be attached using the forum software.  Pics over that hosted elsewhere can be linked by using:

the IMG command between brackets [] looking like:

[ img ]http://thedomainname.com/directory/image.jpg[ /img ]  (spaces between brackets and img are my own, don't put them in a post.)

Every once in a while (when the band width gets heavy) the guy who runs the Striped Wall site locks the access.  Then you must register and sign-in to see the pics.

So if you link to the pics during this time, they wont show up.   He'll unlock the site again eventually.

Thanks for the explanation, David. Hope the site will get unlocked soon. Otherwise I'll have to register. The screencaps are to good to abjure them  :)

It is free to register.   You can set it to remember your password too I think.    Just remember that you can't hyperlink to the pics on posts here.

But you are right, just can always right-click and capture the images.   They are a nice reference to check out our favourite scenes.    Too bad he doesn't have other Jake and Heath movies in screencaps!   LOL

 ;)

Thanks, David.  I went in and registered and recopied my pics.  I guess it's still locked down for now.  But hopefully they'll show up here eventually.

:)

Oh my god, the picture of Jack loosely lasso-ing Ennis -- to die for. I know this site, but I've never looked at all the screencaps. This one I gotta get. Barb, do you happen to know the number of it? Hi everybody, by the way!

Edit: never mind, I just copied it and saved it to my hard drive. Can't wait to print it out!
