Wowie! May these cats bring you much joy, as you have given them of you.
Like Celeste, the first name I thought of was Junior.
Are you looking for something BBM related? How about Riverton or Lightningflat (mostly like shortened to Lightning), or even Juarez. Or you can name him after our community, BetterMost. What about Beans? Somehow I like the idea of a kitten named Beans.
If not BBM related, the possibilities are endless.
I like Nipith's "Beans" very much. Look at your signature :) (I remember the scene from Brothers Grimm. I saw BG after I saw BBM and found it funny, that Heath's character name is Jake and beans also play a role in BG).Yes, that was a funny 'coincidence'.. Beans will follow them around in all their movies, I can feel it!
Jude you are a star, what a lovely deed! Can't wait to see pics. I have two kitties of my own & they are so good to come home to. Good luck with the naming. I like the beans related one so far myself, maybe lufla shortened to luffie? But you have to pick one that is right for how they look & the personality.Nic, your mail made me smile! :D 'Luffie', hunh? I'll have a hard time explaining THAT to people! ;D
Aww, that good news has made my day! :)
Thank you for your suggestions! :)
I forgot to say, but 'Cigar Butt' is out of the question too! ;D
And actually, since I'm not a native English speaker, I'd like a name that doesn't 'mean' anything..if you know what I mean.
Like, I don't know.. "Proulx" or something.. :-\

I know so little Arabic but do recall that "Ah heh bik" means "I love you." What about "Bika?"I like your idea! That would be Brokie and Bika.. I'll ask my teacher next week!

I love this one. great lines. the one the cats form and the ones in the patio floor. I love the double kittens in the center.

My only word out of my mouth when I saw the pictures was "Precious" but please don't call a boy kitten that.
They do look precocious in some of the photos. Beautiful, and that is you for the rescue. 8)
When they are not sleeping, they are napping.. and vice versa.. ;D

Does this one have a bulls-eye on its side, or are my eyes playing tricks on me? This looks kind of like my cat, who has matching bulls-eyes on both of his sides (except my cat is ENORMOUS - not an ounce of fat, but very tall and long).
Like, I don't know.. "Proulx" or something.. :-\
Choice is now between:
cloud - sahaba or akkara
(full) moon - (mali) qamar
forgotten - nassiya
silent - suka(t)
summer - sayif
tear - dam'a
cherry - kharaz
to dream - halama
my heart - kalbi

See the kitten on the left? See what he is doing?David! It's not as bad as it looks! Actually when I play with and tickle the little ones, they 'fight back', but never scratching me! I am SOOO used to having cats and scratches, but these are very gentle.. That is until two of them try to crawl up my leg, while I'm standing in the kitchen.. :o Nosy little buggers! ;D
Sometimes my cat Oreo will do that very same thing.... on my legs! >:(
OUCH!!! :)

I did not know you called it that way. Actually the mother and this little kitty have one only. The other two have none at all..

Can I cry over a kitten with everything happening in the world? I don't know, but I do..of course you can :'(
Can I cry over a kitten with everything happening in the world? I don't know, but I do.. It was the smallest and weakest one, but it did play-fight with its 'big' brother a lot and it was the one that came to cuddle with me most.. :'(
Can I cry over a kitten with everything happening in the world?
I'm sorry to hear about Sama. My heart sank when I saw the title.
btw, "Sama" in Japanese is used to address royalty, ie "Tenchi-sama" is equivalent to "Lord Tenchi". It's a beautiful name for the little feline prince.
Jude -
I still say the cat and her kittens were very lucky to have found you. God only knows what they got into while they were living outside.
You couldn't have known. Nobody could have. You didn't do anything wrong.
They were blessed to have found you. :)
Sorry again.
~ j U d E
I am so sorry Jude. I know you must be feeling just awful but those poor little guys had so much love and care from you in their short lives, they were blessed to have found you. When I had to put my beloved Princess Peach to sleep I thought I'd never get over it, I blamed myself for not treating her condition more aggressively at first, then for treating it too aggresively and adding to her suffering later. But the fact was my baby had a good life with someone who loved her and your kitties were likewise blessed. }}}}}}}Big Hug for you honey {{{{{{Victoria, I understand totally! Does it get easier with time? The blaming oneself? There's nothing one can do to turn back time, and although I think Sahaba was 'called back', I would love to have a second chance and at least not let him suffer for so long..... I have for a week and a half now tried to totally block out the images of the week-end of Sahaba's death, because just thinking about it, makes me physically sick - knowing that I could have spared Sahaba a LOT of pain.. It makes me angry. I had them for one month. Four weeks and even less.. and still, it feels like a lifetime and I wish I could have seen Sama' and Sahaba as adult cats..
It will be getting easier with time, believe me. And the feeling of guilt is very common after the death of a beloved animal, too. It's because they can't speak, that we always ask ourselves if we did too less or too much or too late.
My cat died alone in one night. I knew she had cancer and I felt it when the time had come to bring it to an end. I made an appointment with my vet for the next day, because on this very day I had no one I could have brought my children to (and sure I couldn't take them with me). She didn't make it to the next morning. She died in that night alone. She went out of the house, laid down in our barn and died.
I felt so guilty that I didn't put her down the day before or at least stayed by her through the night. I felt I should have managed it to find someone to look after the children, I should have asked more people.
Today I still am sad about the death of my cat and I still ask myself if I did right by her. But I can think of her without tearing up. The sadness and doubts will perhaps never vanish completely, but with time they will lessen and the happy memories will come to the foreground.
ONE MORE..

Brokie and Sayif - almost the same size!

Thank you Chrissi! I like cats, but I like photography too.. So, I'm trying to combine both..

A few new pictures and my very first YouTube video! It shows Sayif sleeping almost undisturbed.. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYlOyREBXGk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYlOyREBXGk)
(http://i7.tinypic.com/281rp61.jpg) -> this is a semi-staged picture with SAYIF. I like the slight head tilt, just like our two heroes on the BBM poster..
Aaaaawwwww Jude, you make such beautiful pictures of your cats!!!!!
Thanks for posting....
I'll second that! They are adorable! :)Hiya Fabienne!
And i just looooove that kitty blanket Sayif is sleeping on! Where do you find these things? I need to have one of those...
You know, I love cats, I love animals, I love MY cats, but I don't need/want any cat-postcards, cat-calendars, cat-mugs, mini-porcelain-cats, cat-curtains, cat-key-chains etc.. I'm too cool for that..
Since then I'm 'honoured' with corny coloured kitten calenders from friends and relatives... :-\Eeeeeeeeewwww! ;D

Years ago, my stepfather (for some unknown reason) gave my mother a small owl made out of alabaster as a gift. The next time gift-giving came around, he gave her an owl picture made of metal bottle caps on wood. ???That's such a cute story! Or not.. ? ;D Someone's clueless! ??? Ha, and it's not me for once!
Well, two owls, now that's a collection. So for several years he kept giving her owls made out of different materials. (Unfortunately no gold or platinum.) Finally, she told him she felt done with owls. (She had never been into them to begin with!)
So he swiched (again, no one knows why) to eggs made out of different kinds of stones.
:)
We used to think my mother had a thing for pigs so every birthday & christmas there'd be a pig-related gift for her, then a few years ago she just came out with the fact she didn't really like them & didn't know why we had that idea. I don't either! We had to laugh at the fact she'd always been showered with gifts of pigs!
I like having cat things about the place, but am not OTT. I like my two real kitties the best! Glad to see your two are doing ok Jude :)
I'm being to suspect that Brokie knows he's a celebrity! ;) I mean, just look at that cute face of his... 'hey Jude, it this okay? should i turn my head a little bit more? what? to the right you say? okay, i can do that!" :laugh:Thank you Fabienne. Yes, I have to agree, they kind of look good on pictures! ;D I must admit, I have my camera near me most of the times, but I have to be quick sometimes, because they start thinking I'm stalking them..
adorable, as always.
Swear to God, Jude, your cats - and the wonderful photos you take of them - are the most beautiful anythings on Earth. I feel like if I was ever flat with depression, a few pics of them would set me back on my feet again.
Totally! i was just commenting how photogenic they are and how good you are with a camera to my other half... my cats don't pose anywhere near as well, but I think they're gorgeous in real life... (But then I'm bias). But Kelda you are allowed to be bias!! It's totally natural! ;D
I don't know if I've ever said, but even though I know its not the case - I always think of 'say if you're there' when I hear of sayif the cat.
heee... yes!Thank you Kelda! :-*
I hope you have framed some of these pics and have them up at home....
you could totally sell some of these pics... without difficulty!
new pictures! Brokie and Sayif are still very sleepy kitties.. Beautiful cats!Thank you Shasta! I think the beauty of those two is that they look like twins (except when you take a closer look). It's fun to see the 'symmetry'.
Look at the cat up at the top. He looks like he's been stuck up there with velcro!! :laugh:Hi David. I would never ever attach my cats to anything with velcro! But Sayif did get 'caught' in that fly repellent gluey paper last summer.. I was sooooo lucky to be at home when it happened.. It scared the living ***** out of him! Not easy either to get that stuff off of him, without some fur.... :o
Aww. How cute!! I always love looking at your kitty pictures, Jude!! The cat up at the top didn't end up falling off, did he?
My cat sometimes falls from the window sill, or even from the top of the television downstairs in the basement. So I've placed pillows on the floor in both of those locations so he won't get hurt when it happens. He falls alseep and just rolls off sometimes! That must be quite funny to watch, though probably less funny for the cat! ;D
I can't see these at work (grump >:() will need t0 come back to this thread once I'm at home.
Beautiful felines! They have that napping thing down, don't they. ;)Thank you Shasta. To be honest, I took at least 4 or 5 pictures of Sayif next to the statue, hoping that one would 'echo' the other. He is not supposed to go on the table, but when it's not used, I let it go. Brokie doesn't do things like that.
How did you get that picture of Sayif sitting so still --like a statue beside a statue? I love the composition of that shot! Perfect.
Thanks for sharing. I love cats!
I went to a party last week and the little boy there said -- don't let that cat fool you, she's evil. haha He said the cat bites and scratches. It was a wild cat that they adopted when a baby, so I didn't doubt. Anyway, she jumped on the table and was going for the food. I was right there, so I grabbed her and held her and petted her before I put her down. She was fine to me.
Haha -- I have no doubt that your two frolic! When there are two young cats together, there is lots of activity. But if you get the video working, please let us see it!!
Absolutely adorable!! I love the tiptoes, tail swishing, ears laid back!!! I expected Sayif to come back and ambush Brokie! They have a lot of fun! Thanks for posting!
How old is Sayif now? I hear Truman has a kitty that's in heat. Maybe we could get them together? His cat is a beautiful tabby with a charmingly grumpy face!
Time flies!! I brought these cats home on 4th of July 2006. Brokie was about 1 year and 3 months old. Sayif was approximately 3 months old. He is is now 2 and Brokie is 3.

The newest pics of your cats remind me of the Cowboy's Etiquette thread. One point was: Lean. On. Everything.
For Brokie and Sayif it would be: Lie. On. Everything.
I can do that if its okay with Katherine & Chrissi?
I can do that if its okay with Katherine & Chrissi?
Jude, your sad story brought tears to my eyes. What an ordeal it must have been for you! I'm glad your neighbor was around to accompany you to the vet's office and that your sister and mom offered support, too. But most of all, I am thankful that Brokie is there to comfort you now and that you are there for Brokie, too. (It's not good to be alone at sad times.)
So, "Sayif" means summer! I kind of thought it might be short for "Say if your there."

Hey j.U.d.E., I'm thinking of you. How are you doing? :-*
Hey j.U.d.E.
She'll settle honestly she will
He was such a beautiful cat, j.U.d.E, and funny. I always feel joy when I look at pictures of him and Brokie. Now of course the joy has sadness alongside, but still joy. He had a happy life, don't you think?
Don't think about it.... it'll just make you feel terrible.I'm trying, but it is not easy. I am starting to see Brokie getting back to 'normal' though and that is a good thing.
thats good to hear - looking forward to meeting her!
You will, 'cause now she's glued to the flat.. and glued to me. I feel like she has 'given up' on finding Sayif, which makes me sad. But I guess it's better for Brokie. Also I'm torn. I don't want to take another cat - it would mean too much stress and you never know, if the two cats get along.. And it's sad, because the second cat should be Sayif.. But then again I am worried that Brokie feels lonely. She doesn't seem to be, but I think she could be a little lonely. I don't like having caged animals, but maybe it would at least be some 'company' for her. But hamsters, rabbits, birds etc. don't go together with cats very well, right? I'm torn. Maybe a turtle.. pffft.. I could get a tiny little dog, but that's too much work and not very practical when I want to tavel.. :-\
j.U.d.E.
I was the same but I decided Skimble likes the attention and owuld get mad ahving a new friend! Thanks Kelda. I guess, for now, I will concentrate on Brokie. She does seem to like it! :)
I would love to see a photo of Euro-Brokies and Brokie.
:-*
j.U.d.E., what a beauty that cat is.
:)
get ready brokie - 8 days and we'#ll be getting our photo taken with you!
