Title: Meet Me on the Mountain
Post by: Monika on August 07, 2009, 12:48:03 pm
I heard "Meet Me on the Mountain" for the very first time last week in Alberta when Pete played it to me.
I´m listening to it at the moment and I´m writing down the lyrics. There´s one line, though, that I can´t make out.

I bet someone here knows it

A love like ours and the grace....xxxxxxx
Was no one´s business but our own

Hmm, I don't have it in front of me, but I'll take a stab:

A love like ours, and the grace-filled hours
Was no one's business but our own.

Of some reason I kept hearing "grassy mounds" and just couldn´t get it out of my hear :P
and I kinda figured that that was hardly it ;)

I wish I could have attended the concert held in SF in July...my favorite song on that album is "I'll be on my Way."

 :)

"I'll be on my Way" is built on a wonderful melody. It sounds like a traditional Virginia hymn tune. And when it kicks into the blue-grass gospel, it is truly uplifting. I have an opportunity to get my hands on a gospel choir for an event in November. I might do an arrangement of this tune for them.

I do like "Last Stand" quite a bit too. Can you imagine how differently the scene at the trailhead would have gone if Jack had come out with these words instead??

Such a great CD, it was so fitting to hear it in Pete's car as he drove us to hike up Moose Mountain.
