Today I invented a new literary genre, The Ficmerick!! ;D
It is exactly what it sounds like, a combination of fic and limerick.
This is how it goes:
Write a limerick about anything Brokeback. In one of the lines the name of a BBM fic should be included.
That's all there is to it. You can either write the whole limerick by yourself, or just one line and let others take up the challenge, like in the limerick thread.
Here's the world's first public BBM ficmerick ever: (I suppose)
If you know the name of a BBMfic
put it in a limerick, that'd be terrific
We could have a really good time
thinking of fics and trying to rhyme
Like now, when I mention Union Pacific

Said Aguirre, "I'm doing this out of human interest"
and put his binoculars down to rest
"Stemming roses is all they do
both forgetting they should be herding sheep too
New shepherds next year, that'll be for the best!"

Next year Aguirre was looking for another shepherd, somebody new
Into his trailer stepped Jack, out of the blue
"Twist, this is just a waste of time,
out of ten days you stemmed roses in nine,
Ain't got no use for someone like you."

One night in Childress, Jack thought he was dreaming
He saw Ennis approach him, his face was beaming
"Jack, I've had it, enough is enough
We'll do the cow and calf, or any other stuff
When I'm not with you my life has no meaning."

The roots of the problem is the fear in Ennis's heart
He doesn't know what he wants, he's torn apart
Be with his girls, or saying yes to Jack
Stay where he is, or start to pack
No matter how much he thinks, he can't come up with anything smart

One day on Brokeback they saw the sight of two crow's joy
making a new little crow, a girl or a boy
"Looks fun, let's try", said Ennis to Jack
and did what the crows did, front to back
They found this was something they could both enjoy

Aguirre said: "Those herders are some real lazies
they might just as well spend their day picking daisies
I know they are nothing but a couple of teens
who are acting crazy and eating beans"
And he turned around, wanted to forget both beans and crazies

Ennis and Jack had a serious talk the other day
about what it really is like to be gay
Said Ennis: "First I thought I can't stand it
but then I slowly learned how to hand' it
But had my father known; Gewalt! Oy vey!!
I know, I know..... there is no reason whatsoever for Ennis to speak Yiddish.....
But on the other hand: Why the hell not??!!??

When Aguirres wife died he was a widower for one year
he didn't miss her much, hardly shed a tear
But his place grew filthy and messy
So one day when he met a girl called Bessy
he said, "When I marry you, you gotta clean this place, you hear?!"

Well, I think you got the hang of it by now..... ::)
And for those wondering: Yes, I spent most of the afternoon at work writing these, it was great fun!! ::) ;D
And tomorrow I'll have to do all the work I didn't do today..... :-\

Oh my goodness, I was wondering where you'd been,
Glad you weren't Stranded, like that time when,
Jack was caught in a storm,
But Ennis's hands were warm,
Did Jack on the massage table, and in his hotel room again!

The next morning Jack said with a frown
"I think we can go for a ride, the wind has slowed down"
They went up to the sheep, they were all tangled and mixed
Took them quite a while to get it all fixed
Little did they know how soon they'd be back in town

They didn’t realize they were In Plain Sight
Their only cover was the dark of night
While they romped in the sun
They were observed by one
Who was unsympathetic to their plight

Way to go, mariez!
That Bus Stop gang is so full of angst,
Ennis can't keep Jack's hands out of his pants,
Lureen's bun in the oven?
And Alma's lack of lovin'?
I should have deleted this fic and drank!

If it's far from Wyomin', Going Home is on it,

The boys wear only smiles,
If you want something better, you should have asked for a sonnet!

Yet another try with Going Home:
"I'm going home to help my dad", said Jack as they parted
Both of them felt the opposite to lighthearted
They went each to their own
Ennis puked with a moan
The contents of their hearts uncharted

Jack hoped to find somebody new
but lived to discover there are few
who can take Ennis´s place
turned out to be the case
Ennis´s the only one matching his blue

Two pennyless uneducated janitors
in each others arms found new shores
A policy of truth
would never soothe
the ache in either men's cores.

Against the man in his piece "Portrait of a farmer"
Reporter extraordinaire Jack Twist had no armour
He fell in love for life
Never even considered getting a wife
But the two of them never stood a chance, no sir.

On Lake Geneva two young boys met
It was summer and the world around them quiet
One boy rich and cocky, one boy poor and shy
Together they felt as though they could fly
The scene for a tragic love story was set

this is addictive!

All they saw in the early morning light was shades of gray
as they got up and started to stack the hay
Ennis 'n Jack, operating their Cow 'n Calf
without each other, both of them would be half
They spent their life together, both night and day

Mason Dixon separated Ennis and Jack

The fought wearing different colors
trying in battle to spot one another
knowing they each other never could attack

We are supposed to gather the sheep not drift em.
They need to be together, not mixed with chilean.
Jack loved dragging them by the heels
while Ennis fussed about Aguirres deals.
After all it made an interesting conundrum
