But the best ever is Saturday Night Fever. Case closed. ;D
What?? Grease doesn't get mentioned? ;D
I love the soundtrack to a little known film (at least I think it's little known) called White Squall. I also love to listen to the haunting score of the movie Sleepers...
And then there is that beautiful Brokeback Mountain soundtrack.... ;D
I love the soundtracks to The English Patient and The Shawshank Redemption.

I agree 'Saturday Night Fever" Great!!! :)
Grease!!!!! Awful ::)
How about "Fame" ? I still love that one!!!!! ;D
My favourite soundtrack album - and I had this on vinyl way back in the 1970s is Bob Dylan's music for Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. (Dylan acted in the movie, too.) The soundtrack that gave us the cllassic song "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" Lots of guitars and Bob sounds OK too. Now I have the CD. | (http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/ciu/4c/b6/e65f92c008a07fa4771f3010._AA240_.L.jpg) |
Bob Dylan as the character "Alias" in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (from 1976) Believe it dude. | (http://www.moviemarket.co.uk/library/photos/163/163150.jpg) |
I really liked A Room With A View.
O Mio Bambino Caro sung by Kiri Te Kanawa was very romantic and moving. Perfect in a Tuscan landscap.
Ahhh, something on which we agree! ;) Great film, great soundtrack... :D
Just thought of another one. It's not really a great soundtrack, but it has some terrific songs - Boogie Nights starring the criminally underused Mark Wahlberg.
I saw Moulin Rouge last night at the (infamous) Castro theatre. I sat in the almost front row, and sang along to every tune! :D

I saw Breaking Away listed as a soundtrack, but I've never heard it.
Must be perfect with all that "Italian" music.
Better look that one up.
Oh Yes
Shawshank Redemption and The Motorcycle Diaries too.
A recommendation for some romantic Valentine music:Good to see that good old Ennio still goes strong and this month will be "his" American month. He's been one of the most prolific soundtrack composers, and only now the Academy "remembers" to award him, after five nominations that went nowhere...
Yo-Yo Ma plays Ennio Morricone, a collection of film scores from Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, Once Upon a Time in America, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, The Untouchables and more.
I've been listening to it for several days and am all mellowed out and ready for Valentine's Day!
February is also Morricone month in New York with showings of these films, and (the only thing I'll miss seeing on Feb 25) he'll receive an honorary Oscar.
Why am I not surprised that you are a fan of Ennio Morricone, luigi? There is a picture of him on the CD, he looks like an accountant, LOL!My goodness Lee, yes Ennio Morricone may look like an accountant, but his music certainly doesn't sound as if it was written by one. Now I'll go back counting my beans...LMAO
I would like to add:
music and score from ER by James Newton Howard, It's so beautiful
Philadelphia esp. the track Mamma Morta by Maria Callas
also some very moving tracks on Miss Saigon [ saw it on Broadway NY]
