I LOVE Dame Edna!!! She's a riot! Yeah, she does have a pretty smile Kerry.
I too love Dame Edna, David!
I've seen many of her shows over the years, but the first time I ever saw her live was at a small theatre in Sydney, back in the 60s. It was my Mum's birthday, and I'd bought tickets for my parents and myself to see the show. It's traditional at the end of all her shows for Dame Edna to throw gladioli flowers into the audience whilst singing "I've got a lovely bunch of gladies," sung to the tune of "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts." The audience traditionally raises the gladies above their heads and waves them back and forth to the beat of the music. I never thought I'd see my Dad waving a gladioli at a bejewelled, overdressed drag queen, but he did, and he loved the show. As did my Mum. Me too.
