The Randy Quaid ebay game
by - naun (Sun Mar 26 2006 12:15:03 )

Someone posted a story about an enterprising young lad who bought Jack's old GMC truck from Focus and is now auctioning it on ebay.

Now Randy Quaid is obviously hard up for cash, and it just seemed to me that instead of suing Focus Features, maybe he could just have an ebay garage sale of all the items associated with his character in the film. The takings might fall just a tad short of $10,000,000, but then again there would be no lawyers to pay, only ebay and paypal fees (which admittedly are only slightly less exorbitant).

So how about we make up a list of items for possible auction, each with a starting price? For the purposes of this exercise, let us assume that Focus Features is still in possession of all of Joe Aguirre's props and paraphernalia, and is willing to assign the proceeds of their sale to Mr Quaid.

Here's a couple of items to get us started:

The "happy tussle" binoculars - $500
The "get out of my trailer" toothpick - $0.01 (no reserve)

Lot of 100 sheep - "Dutch auction" starting at $125/head.

Update: in response to numerous inquiries about why the other 900 sheep are not also listed, we regret to inform prospective bidders that Focus Features is currently unable to issue a Certificate of Authenticity for them, as some of them may have belonged to the Chileans.

Focus Features categorically denies reports that any of the sheep were eaten.

Hideous brown puff vest, unwashed to retain its original BO: $60 - would have been $45, added $15 for the stench - come and get it while it's fresh.

1) that dumb weight bench, or whatever it is, in the middle of the trailer room.
M.B. $25

2) the ONLY CORRECT 1963 licence plate IN THE MOVIE(has only 4 didgits, which is proper. Jacks' truck has one with 6, the truck that brought Ennis (Wyoming licence plate) has 5)--$50

It was still in the Pierre Tremblay forum until March 2007, when trolls again had the entire forum deleted.
