You go, Mandy! Sounds like a pretty good situation you got going there ;D

Thanks, Buffymon, and yes I most certainly do.  He's only seen Brokeback twice, and never with me, cause he has trouble with commentary going on during a movie.  There's no way on God's green earth I could EVER watch BBM with a non-Brokie without making some comment that I think would be important and poignant during pretty much every single second of the film, so....  unless he keeps something stuffed inside my mouth for the entire 2 hours and 17 minutes

( :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o )

I'll probably never see it with him.  Regardless of the fact that he didn't pick up on my "I'll tell ya what" phrase, out of the mouth of Old Man Twist, I'll still let him slide.

Long as he wears those loose pants, as promised.   ;D
Dawn is coming,

During my nightly googled moments I stumpled aponed a poem jake gyllenhaals father had written, and I think its so beutiful.  :)

 At 25

a man now stand you
on roots no one can claim
as good as you
(pure born god-son
look at you anywhere
across the globe).

At birth you were blue
I witnessed you suck
that first breath in and turn
as white as snow on top
of Everest. Pure. Pure.
Goodness and Mercy.

Jumble of words my only
clue to give to you
for your mountain view

to burn the libraries
and burn us too
(all that's come
before you.)

Your (my side) grandfather's
head handed him
on a silver Salome platter (he knew
more than he could hold on to)
and your great grandfather
stumbled and I shamble
and out of the phoenix ash
of my/your ancestral men you flew
out of the John Baptist ash
you flew beyond the pebbles
in the Jordan where we, the men
before you wash our sad, sad feet

but not for naught — the truth
when sung soothes far beyond
all gold.

I remember your grandfather
(not sober) singing, weeping
in my high gliding stone dead
gothic church —

"A voice of one, crying
in the wilderness, prepare ye
the way of the Lord."

I remember holding you, screaming
with good rage in a Sea Ranch night.
Taking you outside under the moon
and the giant pines — screaming, screaming.
Holding you. I didn't know what else to do.
Kicking. Screaming with good rage
till you slowly trembled yourself into rest.

Forgive us, Lord, we know
not what we do.

Good rage. Burn us to the ground.
Good rage. So little good seems
to have come of John the Baptist
and what followed. Your grandfather
loved John the Baptist. Wept and sung
his words and went too easily
into their good night
which I won't do.

All these words and others too
are here for you, may they be true.

*As you can see its partly about Jake*

I have read that poem before, but I still love it.  Its a supreme honor
of a father, and son.

I also loved the funny clip of Jake and his Dastan son.  Plus the telling about
how honored he is to be Matilda's godfather.  He is such an outstanding man.
He is a son that anyone would be very honored to claim.

Apparently the use of British English has its origin in the video game, upon which the movie is based.

Good to know!  The first few times I saw the commercials I was pretty surprised by the accent too.

it will be interesting to here the Americans view on the accent. From what I thought he sometimes forgot/dropped the accent. That made it a bit strange, but hey its Jake, so everything is forgiven.

Jake Gyllenhaal in GQ

He's not trying to be sexy! Or show off his biceps
by just bending his arms! He looks like a total
dweeb! And it's charming.

Well, that's kind of a silly comment. As if Jake has to try to be sexy!

And he can show me his biceps anytime he wants.  8)

thank you john, for showing us, its always entertaining to look at amazing photos. Not so very common over here.

Must say favorites are of course Jakes photo, Denzel washington and Viola (annie lebowitz photo) and Alexander Skarsgård.

I would have wished that it would have been more good female photos, were they look powerful, to me it seemed like they either very sad or just naked.
