OK, this movie must have come and went so fast I missed it. Maybe it never came to the States.

Did anyone see it? Scenes of a Sexual Nature

OK, the kiss is not as hot as our boys, but sweet, nonetheless.

Now, Ewan and Colin are coming out in the new Woody Allen movie but they play brothers (not lovers alas) - which is strange considering they look nothing alike - who run into financial problems, get involved with gangsters and become enemies.

If you want to see a lot of Ewan McGregor, see Peter Greenaway's Pillow Book. His character is more omnisexual. It's a very unusual and sensual film.

I don't know, I think it's kind of hot...assuming it's not permanent. That many tattoos I wouldn't like, but as something drawn on temporarily, I think it looks cool.

I've seen The Pillow Book, I love Ewan in The Pillow Book (movie was a beautiful work of art to watch, but some parts of the plot were Japanese cheesy), I own The Pillow Book movie and The Pillow Book book (who, me? Obsessed?

Yes, his character's a pansexual who falls in love with a Japanese artist/model/writer who gets her jollies from writing on other people, so what you see is her writing on him. This also turns on Ewan's character's publishing male lover which is a plot by his writer girlfriend to... blah blah blah

I thought it pretty hot as well. I'd like my lovers to do that to me, or let me do that to them.

What I love is Ewan is not embarrassed to talk about the role at all. If he shows up on Jay Leno or some other talk show, you should watch. The man's a natural storyteller. Unlike some actors where it's like pulling teeth to get them to talk, Jay just grins and lets Ewan talk. About The Pillow Book, on Jay Leno, Ewan was casual about his role in it, "Oh, I slept with everyone in that movie...I even slept with a 65 year old Japanese man and it was very nice."

Ewan is very free, very comfortable in his (calligraphy-laden) skin. That's what makes him so sexy. Oh, yeah, the full frontal thing is cool too.

I love Ewan's spirit. More men should be like him. Forgot where I read this but he said the calligraphy was done by several lady calligraphers/production artists and he was nude while they were doing it, but he said it was really relaxing and he had to arrive on the set so early to get it done and let the ink dry, that he'd fall asleep while they were painting on him.

Hmm, I haven't listened to it for a while now. I seem to remember it has some moody Asian-style new-age music, and one particular song in French, no less.

from the reviews this seems to be a film that you either love or hate. You know one of those little indie films with no car crashes or special effects that some folks call slow

All right, Del, I finally listened to the "Pillow Book" soundtrack.

It's quite an amalgam of music. Unfortunately there are no liner notes to offer any details.

It starts with a number that sounds like it could have been played in Shanhai in the 20s or 30s. Then there's a lovely French song, very moody and new age. The same singer later does a French rap song. Yes, rap, but slow and gentle.

There is some Japanese pop-rock stuff. Then there's a few interesting Tibetan sacred pieces.

I'll have to see the film again to see how the music is incorporated.

Perhaps Greenaway's most elegant film where the image is text, and the text is image.

Be forewarned, Peter Greenaway despises narrative, and considers David Cronenberg to be his only real "competition."

This next is a long scene - the opening is a bit uncomfortable - but the rest is probably Ewan's entire main part in the movie and it has the gist of he and his character's lover's dilemma and turns out to be bittersweet. So SPOILERS SPOILERS!! I'm just posting it because Ewan's acting is just amazingly natural. The man is SOOOOOOOOOOO talented:
