Hmm, I haven't listened to it for a while now.  I seem to remember it has some moody Asian-style new-age music, and one particular song in French, no less.

from the reviews this seems to be a film that you either love or hate.  You know one of those little indie films with no car crashes or special effects that some folks call slow    much like another little film we all know and love.

All right, Del, I finally listened to the "Pillow Book" soundtrack.

It's quite an amalgam of music.  Unfortunately there are no liner notes to offer any details.

It starts with a number that sounds like it could have been played in Shanhai in the 20s or 30s.  Then there's a lovely French song, very moody and new age.  The same singer later does a French rap song. Yes, rap, but slow and gentle.

There is some Japanese pop-rock stuff.  Then there's a few interesting Tibetan sacred pieces. 

I'll have to see the film again to see how the music is incorporated.

Thanks for the review.  It sounds like something I might like.  Will look into picking one up...
