I'm happy to hear that Vinny and Artie are figuring out how to co-exist.

Tina is very photogenic.  She has a very intelligent look about her.

Here's a new photo of Ember and Forest.  Forest will turn seven months old on April 18th.  He's growing like a weed.  (He's weighed more than Ember for a while now.)

If anyone uses Photobucket, they've revamped their editing options.  Oh what fun it is enhancing less-than-ideal photos!

Today I went to the town hall and signed off my Mäxi from taxes. I paid taxes for my dog over a year after he passed away, I didn't have the heart to declare him dead officially. Today I went because I had to register Tina.
Made it into the car before the tears came.

Rest in piece, dear friend.

What a sweet, sad photo of your Mäxi.

Tina looks like she's part lion.

Dog taxes??

Dog taxes??

Yes. Every dog owner has to register their dog(s) with the local authorities and pay taxes for the dog. Those taxes vary greatly. In rural areas like mine it's cheap (86 Euro per year, that's about 112$). In metropolitan areas it can be several hundred Euros.
And for dogs of so called "dangerous breeds" you pay easily 1200 Euros or more. :-\
Authorities have laws against some breeds and additionally try to discourage people from having them by the exorbitant dog taxes.

When you register your dog you get a dog tag (called tax tag) which you have to take with you all the time when you're out and about with your dog. Most people attach the tax tag to the collar/harness. Same principle as license plates for cars.

Yes, I know. That's crazy. Won't get any argument from me about that.  ::)
