While I agree I could not eat a pet bunny, yet here in both Australia and NZ rabbits are pests, they are banned as pets in some states.  When I was young we often had rabbit, it was called the poor man's chicken. However now chicken is cheap so you rarely see rabbit for sale in butcher shops.

you are right, I've heard a number of people describe rabbits as pests.   Here in my area, they are seen as pets, so I would have a very difficult time eating one.

Some new pics of Blaze.

Well,  parts of Blaze.

Two shots of him sleeping inside a bag that he thinks he fits in.

It appears I'll be having some guests outside my apartment soon! Yesterday I opened my blinds, and there were two birds just starting a nest. I startled them and they flew off. I closed the blinds and haven't looked back until now (Sunday evening). The nest is bigger, so they've been back. Let's see if a family takes root here.

haha, he looks like an ostrich with its head in the sand!

Congratulations on your mourning dove family! Can you set up your blinds so you can see them but they can't see you?

Yeah, he does look like that, doesn't he?

As for the bird family, I'm not sure about setting the blinds that way.  I'm going to try.  I want them used to seeing me, and realizing I'm not trying to get them.

LOL, too cute!

And he very fittingly chose to "hide" in a bag with a cat on it!

Is it just me, or has he become more brown over the years instead of black?

I think it's the way the light catchings his coat.   Under some lighting, he appears black.  Other times, he seems to have a lot of brown highlights.  LOL

Makes sense.
The cat we had when I grew up was black, but in certain lighting he seemed more brown.
