for a moment, the world stopped. it feels different now.

I think of what this man was able to bring to this world. Look at this thread alone, and I know you can't even begin to quantify the joy he brings to people's live, even if its just a simple joy of admiring his beauty. And then there's the creative energy that he generate in his work; the power to make us feel emotions that rocked the core of our souls. I don't know what it says about me that I found myself through his performance as Ennis, but his performance is just that powerful.

With this lose, I come back to you all, the community that has shared so much love. Hugs for all of you.

It does feel different now....
Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfection

Yes it does Sue and all of us here at Bettermost. I am sitting at my computer in total shock. I haven't gotten up since I heard this tragic and sad news on the news. I just want to scream and cry for this wonderful and talented actor and man who enhanced my life and so many others.

Heath may you R.I.P. and God Bless poor baby Matilda and your family and friends.

For how long? As long as we can ride it; ain't no reins on this one.

perhaps we could temporaily move this beatiful set of pics to the memorial area?

Leslie - you could add a bit to your original post?

I have been posting news updates over in the forum Phillip created...there is a thread for news items.

There is also a grieving thread on in that forum.

If it is okay with all the Heathens here, I would like to keep this thread here at Chez Tremblay. I started it on May 4, 2006 and we have a friendly and happy group of Heathens who have contributed over the past two years to this community of Heath love.

Please feel free to add pictures or comments as you feel are appropriate.

As you say, the World stops for Heath presently. For I too!

May I say that since Heath was on a mission to seek and present love, that that I feel will always stay and guide us in the Brokeback Mountain movie!!

He is our Ennis and always will be in our hearts and minds, and he presents himself as Heath and Ennis too!!

May that help to hug everyone always - it hugs me!! Heath hugs me and you everyday!!

i like keeping it here, so we can have it and come back to it... the thread doesn't have to go just because he has gone...

I have never been one for reading poetry, but there are a few poems that have stayed with me. Somehow this seems appropriate to me right now...

To an Athlete Dying Young
by A. E. Housman (1859-1936)

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.

To-day, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields were glory does not stay
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.

Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears:

Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.

So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.

And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl's.
