Good morning Heathens :)

In honor of two lovely Brokies, who will come to visit me today:

For Leslie, because I know it's one of her favorite Heath pics

For Fabienne, because I know she likes Casanova Heath

Over the past few days I´ve had a severe case of Brokeback blues. Ennis and Jack have been on my mind a *lot*.

a few minutes ago I was contemplating this picture and was just overwhelmed with sadness. I remember standing in front of that house myself just a few weeks ago; I remember how run down, and about-to-fall-down it looked by now. Soon that house will be gone and then of course it´s Heath, who already is. :'(
And as we already know, "there are places we can´t return"

I really need to have some fun this weekend to shake this feeling.

I hope you manage to shake the blues, Monika.  :-*

I know what you mean, though, do I ever.  I had the chance to sit behind the wheel of Ennis's truck while in Denver, and see some of the clothes the boys wore in the movie including Ennis's brown jacket. A friend of Meryl's and mine who isn't a Brokie was with us at the time and she said she could see how extremely moved we were and what an impression it all made.

And that's for sure. Sitting in that car and remembering Heath - and Ennis - it was a very emotional experience.

I haven't visited the Alberta locations myself, only vicariously through the pictures posted here at Bettermost. Particularly those on Chuck's thread. I know what you mean about the sadness. Seeing the film locations decay and fade away seems so sad. Soon enough only the faintest traces will remain, then nothing. I am reminded of how some people commented on how the story and film seemed to be guided by a spirit. I can see why. A grieving spirit who needed his story told. He guided Annie's hand, he guided the script, and stalled it's development until the right director, actors, locations etc. were ready to bring his story to it's full expression. Now that so many have shared in it and grieved for and with him, he's gone and at rest. These locations are no longer watched over by him, and so they, like him, dissolve into the Void. At least that's how I like to think of it.
