CHEYENNE - More than a month has passed since the nationwide release of the Golden-Globe winning "Brokeback Mountain" without a public screening in Cheyenne.
That will end this weekend, when Carmike Cinemas at Frontier Mall is scheduled to premier the film in the Capital City.
"Brokeback Mountain," a film set in Wyoming but shot in Canada, is a story about two cowboys who fall in love. The movie is based on a short story by E. Annie Proulx, who lives near Centennial.
Some here have wondered what delayed the film's arrival. Rob Berger, co-owner of the Capitol 12 and Lincoln Theaters, says it was the scarcity of the film's prints, not any censorship, that delayed its Cheyenne release.
