I love eating popcorn when I feel nervous or stressed out.

Going to movies is comforting for me, and popcorn is a huge part of the draw.

Sometimes I want to go to a movie just because I'm in the mood for popcorn!

Wow, David, I've never heard anybody say they consider celery a comfort food! I'm impressed. For me carrots and celery are Diet Torture Foods.

I LOVE raw carrots! Celery too, but sometimes I will put a little dab of peanut butter on my celery stalks!

I love mixed vegetables too. I'll eat them right out of the can.. cold!  :D

Black eye peas are good too!

I too love vegetables.  I love asparagus, cabbage stew with cornbread.  Cornbread and milk.  I was southern bred.  Fried chicken and potatoes and pan gravy.  Pot roast with veggies.  Pork roast.

And anything chocolate.  Devils food cake, German choc cake. Irish Potatoe cake.  Chocolate creme pie, with whipping cream.  Truffles, and peanut butter cups.....

Enough!!!  I will probably gain five pounds just typing all of that.....

Geez... the more I think about it... this is either a really hard question to answer or it will have to be a really long list.  ::) ;D

OK, here goes...

cake and/or cupcakes (red velvet is my favorite flavor)
peanut butter cup ice cream
pizza
sourdough bagels with cream cheese
any kind of good cheese with crackers and white wine
eggs (sunny side up) with sausage patties and rye toast (I love diners and diner breakfasts... and this is often my fav even though it's sort of basic)
meatloaf with mashed potatoes
anything made out of sweet potatoes
fried chicken (only once in a blue moon... but every once in a while I become obsessed with good fried chicken)

So, any and all of those things (not all at the same time mind you  ;D ) are some of my favorite comfort foods.

Chicken noodle soup and Sprite. I always had that when I had to stay home from school because of being sick.

Chocolate gravy over homemade biscuit drenched in butter. I don't have that anymore. My granny made it for me about once a week. No one else can make it like she did.

Ooooooo good call on the biscuits!!!  I love biscuits.  I should have included them on my list to go along with the fried chicken.  ;D
