And chips (as we prefer to call them here in the UK) piled onto bread and butter (none of your low fat margarine rubbish)  ... the good old British chip butty!

Susie

Oh. My. God.

A french fry sandwich? Or a chip sandwich? Now I have seen everything!

Yes Chip butties are good.

And my chips are always salted and vinegered!

Chips and cheeses is aafter been out for a few drinks snack.

I've also had chips and curry sauce.

(and chips and curry sauc with a side of mayo).

I also sometimes have brown sauce with chips - but thats normally cos I'm eating it with something else that the brown sauce goes with.

In the east coast of scotland when you go in to a chippy instead of asking 'salt & vinegar?' they'll ask 'salt & sauce?'. Basically its slightly watered down brown sauce.(so thick vinegar kinda!)

Get it right L, it's "Butty" not "sandwich" .... and you're not allowed to live in the UK until you can make one properly!  ;D

Susie

Butty! Got it!! LOL
I'm sure that is one of the first questions on the immigration forms and now I'll get it right!

Of Course, Kelda, chips with curry sauce!  Hmm Hmmm Hmmmmmm!

For you guys visiting from across the pond .. Just ask for a Curry Mix at any local Chippy!

(I know it looks disgusting ... but really it's yummy!)

Susie

It is my learned observation that there are two kinds of people in the world: those who squirt ketchup all over their fries and those who make a neat little puddle and dip their fries in it. I am one of the latter types of folks. My husband is too, which is how we knew we'd be compatible for the rest of our lives. And we have raised our children to be dippers, not squirters.

Looking at that picture of squirted curry sauce is making my little dipping heart ache. If I could have it on the side, I might try it though, because I like curry.

What about others? Are you a dipper or a squirter?

Oh well. If it is greasy and tastes like nothing, one can be quite certain the British will love it!

I've seen those chip butties in an amusement park in Mallorca a couple of weeks ago, and the Brits really were the only ones who ate them.  :P
